Which is the best course in NITIE Mumbai among PGDIE, PGDIM, PGDISEM, etc.?

NV
Nitin Verma Posted On : August 18th, 2021
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2021)

The most important thing you should know is which course will prove to be better for your career, rather than which is the best overall. As some of my friends are from NITIE Mumbai, I can give you a bit of information about PGDIE and PGDIM.

  • Both PGDIE and PGDIM are flagship courses of NITIE.
  • PGDIM is considered to be a management course, whereas PGDIE is a technical course.
  • PGDIE is a more M.Tech equivalent.
  • There are also certain differences between the course curriculum at PGDIE and PGDIM.
  • PGDIE has a batch size of 120. And PGDIM has a batch size of 250.
  • Admissions for PGDIE are done through GATE scores. For PGDIM, CAT scores are considered.
  • The placements of both the courses are good. Students of both these courses sit for placements by almost the same companies.

Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for the one that suits you the best. Ask yourself where your passion lies and will a management course or a technical course be beneficial for you.

Is FMS Delhi a good option for a MBA executive program?

ST
Shikha Thakur Posted On : December 28th, 2022
MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi

Yes, pursuing an MBA Executive from FMS Delhi is indeed a very good decision. This is because my brother was in the recent batch and according to him these are the reasons that make it a good choice

  • ROI: The fees charged at this B School are very less in comparison to other B schools.
  • Rigor: The MBA Executive Program is quite rigorous with classes 6 days a week. Regular exams, sessionals, projects, and assignments make it a bit frustrating but in the end, they help you in clearing semesters.
  • Faculty: The faculty for this program is very experienced and knowledgeable.
  • Mixed batch: The diverse profiles of your peers make it a more challenging and thrilling experience. The batch has doctors, engineers, CAs, Armed forces officers, PSU employees, and IT professionals.
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Degree: An MBA degree from Delhi University is worth it in the end.

Frankfinn Institute of Airhostess Training

You don’t need to join any institute to get into any airlines. You can get information about interviews and all from the internet. Here are some pros and cons of joining Frankfinn institute.

Pros:

  • They offer proper grooming. This will help you become confident enough to talk in public.
  • There will be in-flight training. You will visit airports and hotels.
  • They offer role-play exercises on customer care services.
  • They will offer personality development classes. They also offer swimming classes.
  • You will get information regarding interviews.

Cons:

  • Fees for these courses are quite high. In-flight training is expensive and is not included in the course fee.
  • There are no transportation facilities for students who live away from the city.
  • You will have to prepare for interviews on your own.
  • The strength of each batch is quite high.
  • These courses don’t guarantee placements.

How can non Tamil Nadu state students apply for Anna University and affiliated universities Whats the eligibility criteria?

RK
Ravi Kahan Posted On : January 8th, 2026

Non-Tamil Nadu students applying to Anna University and affiliated colleges — this has specific eligibility rules that trip up many applicants from other states.

Direct answer: Yes, non-TN students CAN apply — but only through specific quota.

Anna University admission structure for BTech:

  • Government Quota (65% of seats): Filled via TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions). For Government Quota in government/government-aided colleges: Only Tamil Nadu 12th board students are eligible.
  • Management Quota (35% at private affiliated colleges): Open to all students from any state. Admission through TNEA special counselling (management quota round) or direct admission by the college.
  • Deemed Universities under Anna University: Different — some programs have all-India admission through their own entrance exams.

For non-TN students:

  • You can get seats in private colleges affiliated to Anna University through the management quota.
  • Alternatively: Some private affiliates have an NRI quota for significantly higher fees.
  • Key colleges under Anna University where management quota is accessible to non-TN students: most private engineering colleges in Chennai, Coimbatore, and surrounding areas.

Process: Register at tnea.ac.in ? select management quota counselling ? attend allotment. Non-TN students must meet standard 12th eligibility (PCM with 50% for general category).

What do I do to crack the NIMHANS entrance exam for a post graduation in neurosurgery?

AT
Anamika Tiwari Posted On : October 6th, 2021
Government Medical College, Nagpur

For post MBBS direct MCh/ DM neurology and MD Psychiatry courses, NIMHANS conducts an online entrance exam consisting of MCQs.

  • A common entrance exam is conducted for all courses and later on a separate merit list for each course is released which means you have to opt for the course while applying or you can apply for all of them or either of the two courses.
  • The test is for 2 hours with 150 MCQs. There is negative marking in the examination. Approximately 90 to 100 questions are from 19 MBBS subjects. The difficulty level is medium. The questions are selected from guidebooks.
  • The rest of the 50 to 60 questions are related to CNS so prepare for the neuro aspect of all major subjects viz Anat, Physio, Medicine Psychiatry, Surgery Patho, etc. With the preparation of the last 10 to 15 days, these questions are solvable
  • NIMHANS paper is overall easy compared to AIPGME and AIIMS but since the number of seats is very less, the margin of error for silly mistakes is very low.

The key to get through is by reading all subjects till the last 10 days to the exam and later focusing on the neurology part. This ensures that your preparation level would be optimum on exam day.

What do I do to crack the NIMHANS entrance exam for a post-graduation in neurosurgery?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : September 30th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

NIMHANS conducts an online MCQ based entrance test for Mch/DM Neurology and MD Psychiatry. A common exam is held for all these courses, and later on, a separate merit list is published for each. You have to select your course while applying, and can’t change it later on. You can apply for all three courses or one/two of them.

Here is some information on the entrance exam:

  1. It is a one-hour test with 150 MCQs.
  2. 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer, and ¼ mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
  3. 90-100 questions are asked from 19 MBBS subjects. These questions are not related to CNS. With good preparation for other PGMEE, you can answer them.
  4. Regular one-liner guidebook questions are asked.
  5. 50-60 MCQs are directly/indirectly related to CNS. For these, read the neuro aspect of all major subjects- Anatomy, Physio, Medicine, Psychiatry, Surgery, Patho, Micro, Pharma, Radio, and Anaesthesia. These questions are solvable given that you prepare well in the last 10-15 days before the exam.

The entrance is overall easy. However, the number of seats is very low, so the margin of error for silly mistakes is very low.

Read all subjects before the last 10 days. Then, focus on the Neurology part in the last 10 days. By following these tips, you’ll successfully crack the NIMHANS entrance test.
