NITIE Mumbai is a tough nut to crack as it is ranked 12th in the NIRF Ranking for Management 2020. It competes among the top IIMs and other B-schools in the country. So, it is a dream college for many.
For the PGDIM and PGDISEM programs, it accepts the CAT percentiles. The details of cut-offs are below.
| Category | PGDIM (CAT Percentile) | PGDISEM (CAT Percentile) |
| General | 97 | 86 |
| OBC | 75 | 75 |
| SC/ST | 65 | 75 |
| PwD | 75 | 65 |
For the shortlist calls, the institute only considers the minimum eligibility criteria along with the CAT cut-offs. It doesn’t look for academics until the final scores get calculated of the selected candidates.
The scores are subject to change per year for admission criteria. However, in a nutshell, your selection also depends upon the choice of the branch you have for a B.Tech course and in which category do you actually belong to.
For instance, my cousin’s brother is from the general category and had acquired 228 marks in JEE Mains 2015. Besides, he also had 94.4 percent of marks in his CBSE board examinations. His rank was 3828 and he got admission to the CSE branch. His 10+2 score affected his ranking.
However, currently, the 10+2 score does not matter that much for admission. A total of 180 and out of 360 will be a safe rank for taking admission. If you are applying for CSE, you need to work a little hard as the cutoff is more for the branch.
Here is the recent cutoff requirement for MNNIT Allahabad.

NMIMS is one of the top private institutions of the country. Graded ‘A+’ and accredited by NAAC, it offers UG, PG, and research programs. It offers a plethora of courses such as BBA, BBA+MBA, MBA, B.Tech., B.Com., MPT, etc. To be eligible for MBA studies at the institute, students need to appear for the NMAT entrance exam.
Section-wise NMAT cut-off for 2018 has been given below

Interested individuals must learn about the NMAT exam properly before attempting it. NMAT scores determine whether one will be selected for further rounds of admission process or not and thus carry a lot of weightage.
CUSAT is ranked 63rd in the overall college rankings of NIRF for 2023. It has two colleges for B.Tech. One of them is SOE i.e. School of Engineering in Kochi City, and the other is CUCEK i.e. Cochin University College of Engineering in Pulinkunnu. It is a village roughly 100 km away from SOE.
The cutoff varies from year to year. My brother’s rank was 3129. He got Civil in SOE, a few years back. For CS/IT, you’ll need at least a rank >1000. The placements are decent for CS/IT and Safety & Fire graduates.
The average package for these streams is 3 LPA, and the highest package is around 20 LPA. Amazon sometimes visits the campus to make recruitments. The placements are in a poor condition for other branches. Moreover, the CUCEK campus lacks lab facilities for Civil and Mechanical.
Overall, CUSAT is a decent choice for B.Tech, but it lags behind in terms of placements and facilities for non CS/IT branches.
For FMS, you need to get 99+ for a call and at least 99.5 to convert because they give a lot of weightage on CAT Percentile (50%).
For MDI, you need 94+ to get a call with sectionals over 85+, and you need anything above 98+ to convert if you don't have any work experience.
With the new FMS criteria for the batch 2020, students from the OBC category who scored 93.xx and were on the first list. However, keep in mind that conversions with these borderline percentiles are exceedingly tough because you will have to perform exceptionally well in the GD-PI process.
As a result, for an OBC candidate, a score of 97+ may be deemed safe, as an above-average GD-PI combined with this CAT score may get you a seat in FMS.
Ideally a score below 200 will not get you any of the top campuses accepting your NMAT scores
The campus cut offs would be as follow

To get a call from TAPMI, you would need to score somewhere between 85-90 percentile in CAT or XAT. However, that won’t guarantee you a seat in the college. Along with a good CAT/XAT score, you would need to perform equally well in the PI, and moderated GD rounds to get a sure shot entry.
XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test is a national-level entrance exam conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission to management programs offered by more than 150 B-schools across India, including SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad (IMT Ghaziabad), T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), and FORE School of Management.
Each of these B-schools has its own XAT cutoff score based on factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the availability of seats. Generally, the XAT cutoff scores for these B-schools range between the 80 to 90 percentile.
It's important to note that while cutoff scores are an important factor in the admission process, they are not the only factor. Other factors, such as your academic background, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in other selection rounds, also play a crucial role in the admission process. So, it's always a good idea to aim for a high score in XAT and prepare well for other selection rounds to increase your chances of admission to the MBA program of your choice.
