What are my chances to get into XLRI or SPJIMR in next intake?

SS
Sanjay Shrivastav Posted On : March 15th, 2023
PGPM in Information Management, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) (Graduated 2016)

If you have a strong academic record, relevant work experience and good performance in entrance exams such as CAT/XAT/GMAT and selection processes, your chances of getting into XLRI or SPJIMR could be higher. It's important to note that the competition for admission to these institutes is typically very high, so it's important to have backup options and apply to other institutes as well.

It's recommended that you research the specific admission criteria and selection process for XLRI and SPJIMR, and focus on preparing thoroughly for entrance exams and selection processes to increase your chances of admission. Additionally, you may consider seeking guidance from experts or mentors to help you navigate the application process.

Will I get admission in BITS goa with 294 in BITSAT??

AN
Anuradha Naik Posted On : December 27th, 2021
Studied at BITS Goa (2019)

The cutoff for integrated courses for the year 2016 was around 298 and it was predicted that the cutoff for the next year is on the basis of this year’s cutoff. However, the cutoff turned out to be the exact opposite.

  • The predicted cutoff was around 300-305 but the final cutoff was around 200.
  • The cutoff had a drop when compared to the previous year from 298 to 200.
  • The cutoff for the year 2020 was around 310 in BITS Goa.
  • With 294 you can get BITS Hyderabad biology branch but for BITS Goa you have to grind a little harder.
  • According to the past few trends in the cutoff, it increases gradually or sometimes takes a huge leap.
  • The minimum marks for securing any branch in BITS Goa will be around 300 or more.

Sometimes you can get into BITS Goa below the cutoff but there is a very less chance of that happening.

B.Tech CSE, NIT GOa (2020)

I have a friend from NIT Goa and according to him, it will be really tough to get into NIT GOA with these statistics. The number of seats at NIT GOA is very few but also many of the students prefer it for its culture.

Here is the 2021 course-wise JEE cutoff for NIT Goa.

B.Tech Branch  OBC
Home State  Other State
Civil Engineering  162072 9022-10969
Computer Science & Engineering  14557 3349-3779
Electrical & Electronics Engineering  26267 6218-7234
Electronics & Communication Engineering 21032 5339-5567
Mechanical Engineering  - 8608-8879

This should give you an idea about the cutoff required at NIT Goa.

What is the NMAT cutoff for Alliance University?

KG
Kishalay Ghosh Posted On : August 14th, 2020
M.B.A Marketing, Alliance University (2017)

The Cutoff for NMAT to get into Alliance University is 120. NMAT cut off is the base score got by candidates for the choice round. The cutoff levels are resolved separately by the NMAT in the participating organizations. In the case you were not able to score 120 you will always have an option of giving an attempt for AMAT (Alliance MAT) conducted by the college itself. You can then proceed further for the Admission selection process., where your assessment will not only be based on the score that you achieved in AMAT but the overall performance of the student from high school to your personal interview.

The college offers courses in UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses like BBA, B.Tech, M.Tech where admission is based on different exams.

  • For B.tech admission is based on the marks scored inJEE Main,JEE Advanced,KCET,COMEDK UGET, orAUEET.

  • For BBA, admission is done via AUMAT.

  • For M.Tech the admission procedure is through the marks scored inAUEET,GATEorPGCET

  • For admission in the MBA program, a student needs to give GMAT,CAT,NMAT,XAT,MAT,CMAT,KMAT, orAMAT.

  • Admission to the Ph.D. program is assisted via the Alliance Research Aptitude Test (ARAT) which is succeeded with a personal interview conducted by the college admin.

Yes, it is possible. According to the recent highlights, the KJ Somaiya cutoff is 90+ percentile. So, you have a good chance of getting shortlisted. KJ Somaiys doesn’t assign separate reservations or preferences based on academic background or gender. The shortlisting is done based on past academics, entrance examination scores, performance in GD-PI, etc.

I got 350 in the BITSAT & 3606 in the JEE Advanced. I'm sure I will be getting CSE in NIT Trichy under the home state quota. Which one should I choose BITS Goa, Hyderabad, NIT Trichy, IIT Bhubaneshwar

AD
Aakash Dasgupta Posted On : August 14th, 2020
Studied at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus (2020)

If you are eligible for all the above-mentioned colleges then BITS Goa and NIT Trichy are two of the best options.

BITS Goa offers Computer Science with a total fee of 14.7 lakhs. Last year, the college scored a placement record of above 90% with the highest CTC of 56 LPA in the CS department. The cut-off last year for CSE was 352 so you may get selected.

BITS Hyderabad offers the same course with a course fee of  15.66 lakhs. The cut-off last year was 342. The IT companies offered an average salary of 14 LPA in last year’s campus placement.

NIT Trichy offers CSE with a course fee of 5.72 lakhs, so there is one advantage of qualifying for an NIT in India. The cut-off rank for JEE Main lies between  280-5317 at this institute. The CSE branch had 100% placement last year with it being the highest recruiting branch for the past 3 years in the college.

IIT Bhubaneswar offers CSE at a fee of 7.91 lakhs, and the JEE Advanced closing cut-off was between 1246-4068. The CSE branch had 100% placement with salaries ranging between 10-35 LPA in 2019 placement.

IIT Dhanbad charges a fee of 8.91 lakhs and the cut-off for JEE Advanced rank lies from 1619-5657. In 2019 campus placement, 90% of CSE students were placed and the maximum salary offered was around 40 LPA.

So after comparing all the colleges, NIT Trichy is the best option.

My CUSAT CAT rank is 1897,will I get Mechanical in the main campus?

AS
Anand Srinivasan Posted On : February 12th, 2021
Studied at Cochin University Of Science and Technology

Your CUSAT CAT rank is decent. You’ll need to wait patiently in the counseling process. You have a high chance of being called for counseling. You might need to stick to Mechanical as your first option until the third shortlist is out.

The next thing you should be careful about is that of choosing the lower options. The reason behind this step is that sometimes you will be selected for your lower options and might get a chance to upgrade to Mechanical although there is no surety for this to happen at all times. So, choose branches like IT, civil as your lower options carefully based on your preferences. Keep your hopes high patiently and wait for the allotment positively.

A word of advice, if you are getting admission for Mechanical Engineering at any other colleges, go for it. Rather than waiting around for the opportunity to get Mechanical at CUSAT. The institute does not have a good placement record for Mechanical. You will most likely get recruited by IT firms after the completion of the course. And to get core companies you will need to score well in GATE.

How many marks are needed for an OBC 3B category to qualify for the NIT Surathkal?

GN
Gopali Narayan Posted On : July 22nd, 2021
B.Tech Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2023)

It is important to note that there is not any category division such as 3A, 3B, etc in the JOSAA counseling procedures. Only the OBC term is considered for all.

One of my friends is studying at NIT Surathkal and he got around 140-150 marks in JEE Main, his rank was around 50k in CRL, and around 13k in the OBC category. He got a seat in NIT Surathkal in Chemical ranch in Special rounds of JOSAA Counselling. He had secured a percentile of around 95.5.

If you want to get into any branch of NIT Surathkal, then you should try to score a minimum of 95% in JEE Mains in being on the safer side. For that, at least 150+ marks should be scored. With this score, one can surely get into NIT Surathkal. If you want a circuit branch then they should try scoring more marks.
