How do the placements really compare between DTU B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering and NIT Trichy B.Tech Mechanical Engineering?

C
CobaltCoconut Posted On : April 14th, 2026

I would choose DTU over most NITs, except for NIT Trichy. Delhi Technological University, located in the capital, boasts a stunning 150-acre lush green campus—it's truly a dream come true. While NITs are excellent institutions, some of them don't quite measure up to DTU. Only the top 2–3 NITs can be compared to DTU, and even then, DTU stands out.

DTU has a remarkable legacy and a strong reputation. The average package ranges from 15–20 LPA. The faculty at DTU consists of PhDs from prestigious institutions, ensuring a high-quality education. The research facilities are also top-notch. The peer learning experience is fantastic, with a diverse and talented student body.

Here are some key points:

  • Engifest, the official cultural fest of DTU, is the second largest college fest in North India.
  • The campus and open-air theatre are impressive.
  • The average and highest packages offered are noteworthy.
  • The quality of students enhances the peer learning experience.

Therefore, I prefer DTU over NIT. Being a student at DTU, I can confidently say that you will fall in love with college life, and the opportunities here will significantly enhance your personality. Thanks for reading!

How is B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering branch at NIT Trichy? What about its placement in 2025/26?

N
NebulousNothingness Posted On : April 14th, 2026

I’m in my second year of B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering at NIT Trichy, and I must say, it’s been a solid experience. The first year is all about building a strong base, and the professors are really approachable. I’m gearing up for my internship at Qualcomm, which is exciting! For placements in 2026, I’ve learned that despite the recent economic downturn, the average package is still pretty good, around 14-15 LPA, with around 80% of students getting placed. I think we’ll have a good shot at landing jobs in reputable companies!

Which one should I opt for NIT Trichy B.Tech Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or MNNIT Allahabad B.Tech Computer Science Engineering

R
RenegadeRain Posted On : April 14th, 2026

NIT Trichy offers a chill experience in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering with a solid faculty-student ratio and a vibrant campus life, but the focus is more on traditional engineering paths and less on tech. In contrast, MNNIT Allahabad’s Computer Science Engineering is more demanding but opens up ample internship opportunities with top tech companies like Amazon and Oracle, which can lead to better placement packages. While both colleges provide decent overall experiences, I’d personally lean towards MNNIT Allahabad if you’re passionate about computer science and want to tap into the booming tech industry; however, if you prefer a less intense academic atmosphere with a focus on core engineering, NIT Trichy might be the better choice for you.

Is it worth doing a B.Tech Civil Engineering from NIT Trichy or not? What are its placement records and whats your experience with this college so far

CobaltCorrosion Posted On : April 14th, 2026

Honestly, even if you're at NIT Trichy, the reality is that getting placed in the core civil engineering sector can be really tough. The civil branch struggles with placements across almost every college.

  • Many students find it hard to secure jobs in the core sector.
  • Those who do get placed often see packages that barely exceed 8 LPA.

If you're aiming for a job in IT, it doesn't matter what branch you're in. If the Training and Placement (TnP) cell allows you to sit for IT company interviews, you can land a much higher package.

Which one should I opt for NIT Trichy B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Jadavpur University BE Computer Science and Engineering

E
EvilEagle Posted On : April 14th, 2026

NIT Trichy B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers strong placements, particularly with tech giants and FANG companies actively recruiting from the campus, thanks to a robust curriculum that emphasizes real-world problem-solving. In contrast, Jadavpur University's BE in Computer Science and Engineering has a solid reputation too, but the focus on practical labs and hands-on projects might give it an edge in terms of internships. However, if you're leaning towards a career in tech, NIT Trichy's better campus placement opportunities could lead to higher packages. I'd recommend NIT Trichy for its stronger placement prospects, especially if you're set on a career in engineering.

How do the placements really compare between NIT Trichy B.Tech Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and NIT Surathkal B.Tech Computational and Data Science?

V
VoidVisions Posted On : April 14th, 2026

NIT Trichy’s Metallurgical and Materials Engineering program offers a chill curriculum with a good faculty-student ratio, but the placement stats are pretty solid, with a highest package of 51 LPA and a placement percentage around 90%. In contrast, NIT Surathkal’s B.Tech in Computational and Data Science seems to attract top tech companies, likely due to the high demand for data skills, although specific placement figures weren’t mentioned. Both colleges have vibrant campus life and opportunities for internships, but if I had to choose, I'd lean towards NIT Surathkal for its relevance in today’s job market; it seems better suited for those aiming for tech giants. However, if you're more into materials and enjoy a relaxed pace, NIT Trichy could be your go-to.

Which one should I opt for NIT Trichy B.Tech Computer Science Engineering or Jadavpur University BE Electrical Engineering

They often think they are superior to all NITs/BITS, etc. If IIT KGP weren't in Bengal, they would probably claim JU is better than IIT B.

Listen, if you’re getting CSE at NIT Trichy, choose it without hesitation! JU is a state college, and it will always be viewed that way. Don’t pay attention to NIRF rankings; it’s absurd that VIT is ranked above NIT Suratkal. The same goes for JU being ranked over NIT Trichy.

Should I go for B.Tech Instrumentation & Control Engineering in NIT Trichy or BE Computer Science and Engineering in Jadavpur University?

S
SeriousSalmon Posted On : April 14th, 2026

Honestly, both NIT Trichy for B.Tech in Instrumentation & Control Engineering and Jadavpur University for BE in Computer Science and Engineering have their strengths. NIT Trichy has a strong emphasis on practical learning with labs focusing on sensors and circuits, plus a vibrant campus life with fests and clubs, which is great for holistic development. However, Jadavpur is equally renowned, especially for its computer science program and has a solid reputation for placements in tech giants. If you’re passionate about sensors and automation, NIT Trichy is the way to go. But if you're leaning towards software and want a more established tech scene, Jadavpur University would be a better fit. Personally, I would pick Jadavpur University for its robust computer science curriculum and excellent industry connections.

Should I go for B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering in NIT Trichy or BE Production Engineering in Jadavpur University?

E
EitherElk Posted On : April 14th, 2026

Jadavpur University is indeed a great choice for a B.Tech degree, but I would recommend opting for NIT Trichy. Here are my reasons:

  • NIT Trichy has a stronger brand value across India and even internationally. People in the western and southern parts of India may not view JU as being on the same level as NIT Trichy.
  • Since your home state is West Bengal, studying away from home will provide you with numerous learning opportunities. You'll gain experiences not just academically, but also in managing life and making decisions independently. If you're not prone to homesickness, NIT Trichy is the way to go!
  • NIT Trichy attracts students from all over India, which is not the case with JU. You'll have the chance to interact with peers from Kashmir and learn about South Indian languages. You'll discover why Gujaratis name their snacks "atom bombs" and delve into the culture of Nagaland. This diversity is not something JU offers.

My assumption here is that you're considering the same branch in both colleges. If that's not the case, choose the institute that offers you the better branch.

. All the best! :)

Should I go for B.Tech Computer Science Engineering in NIT Trichy or B.Tech Ceramic Engineering in IIT BHU?

S
SavageSunflower Posted On : April 14th, 2026

CSE is an amazing branch! You'll find 100% placement for this field in many top institutes.

  • Placements for CSE at IIT BHU are also excellent. You can expect to get placed for sure.
  • Average packages are around 20 lakhs, with some students managing to secure 35 lakhs (though they are few in number).
  • It's a dream branch at NITT, alongside VLSI.
  • Students tend to be very relaxed and spend a lot of time in Octagon or Annex, which are large air-conditioned computer labs where you can also get printouts for 1 Rs/page.

However, if you prefer the IIT tag, then IIT BHU might be the better choice for you. It’s a good idea to ask someone from CSE at IIT BHU about their placement packages and other details to make an informed decision.
