Hello sir, which will be a better option between NITIE Mumbai and IIM Indore …there are many controversies about Indore that batch size being huge it's difficult to get placed there?
It is subjective and it completely depends on your goals and your preferences, and how much the IIM tag matters to you. If you are really keen and want to have a career in operations and especially supply chain management then you can/should go for NITIE.
For all other streams go for IIM-I without any second thought. The placement is good there even with the big batch size and all, and why consider yourself at the bottom of the batch before even entering the institution? Even if you are able to keep yourself in the top 50 percent you will get a good and lucrative job and package.

The St. Xavier College is ranked in the 7th position in the list of top colleges in the country. Whereas, Jadavpur University is ranked in the 12th position by the NIRF. However, one should not decide the best college based on the rankings and brand.

Is BITS Pilani better than IIT Kharagpur?
No, BITS Pilani is not better than IIT kharagpur. IIT Kharagpur is a government institute established in 1951. It is older as compared to BITS Pilani.
No doubt BITS Pilani is also a good college, but IIT KGP clearly has an edge over it. Both of these institutes can be compared on few parameters as discussed below-
- Overall Ranking: The NIRF ranking of IIT Kharagpur is better than BITS Pilani. Many National and International ranking provider platforms choose IIT Kharagpur over BITS Pilani because of its long standing reputation and huge research output. As per the latest NIRF Engineering Ranking 2023, IIT Kharagpur is at rank 6, whereas BITS Pilani is at rank 25.
- Research Opportunities: IIT Kharagpur provides more extensive research opportunities as compared to BITS Pilani. As per the NIRF Ranking 2023 for Research, IIT Kharagpur is at 5th position, and BITS Pilani is at 26th.

Based on these factors, I would recommend you choose IIT KGP. But even BITS Pilani is an excellent institution.

I'm 19 and doing my undergraduate studies in IIT Kharagpur. I am clueless as to where my life is heading. What are the various things I should learn during my 4 year stay here?
Honestly being in the first year at IIT is too early to be clueless. In the future, you will face hundreds of circumstances where you will feel clueless so don’t ruin your college life feeling clueless when you have so much to do.
- Don’t let your CGPA fall below 8 during the first year at IIT Kharagpur.
- Master programming languages such as Java, C, HTML, C++, Python, Ruby, or .net,
- Develop a startup mindset and start working on one early. By the end of 2nd year have your startup idea ready with a website.
- Master MATLAB/MATHEMATICA/COMSOL software. You need them for academics.
- If you are good at dramatics you can start your YouTube channel and start earning.
- Rather than depending on on-campus placements, get a PPO from the company you interned with.
- Maintain healthy bonds with your project professor.
I will suggest you not waste time looking for clues but rather make the most of your precious time at IIT. Explore your abilities and look for your passions and keep learning new things.
Should I join NITIE or IIM Indore?
You should join NITIE. Although it is mostly known for Supply Chain and Operations, it offers good opportunities in other industries as well. NITIE placements trends reveal that recruiters from FMCGs, BFSI, consulting sector, and IT/E-commerce also visit the campus placements. So, you will have better chances of landing a job in a leading company. According to the placements highlights of 2022, the average CTC for NITIE stood around INR 25 LPA.
IIM Indore has a huge batch size. While the batch size of NITIE is concise, students get the required attention from teachers. The location of NITIE is also favorable. Doing an MBA from Mumbai will definitely help you get good internship and placement opportunities.
Which is better, CUSAT or CET?
CUSAT is your best bet if you are willing to pursue a Masters's or PG.
CUSAT has the freedom to design the curriculum for its students that suits their needs perfectly and imparts quality education. It has highly experienced professors who are keen to train the students and don’t just teach for the sake of completing the syllabus. CET on the other hand follows the KTU syllabus, one of the most average institutes of Kerala so the quality of education is sacrificed a lot.
In CET, professors sometimes are just transferred by the government, which never is the case with CUSAT. Additionally, CUSAT received huge funds from the government to support its large-scale research projects.
Ultimately, CUSAT is a better choice than CET for Masters while CET is a better option for Bachelor.
Is IIT bombay aerospace worth it?
Honestly speaking, if you are passionate about Aerospace, I suggest you opt for IIT Kanpur rather than IIT Bombay. The following points support my inclination toward IIT Kanpur for Aerospace.
- IIT Kanpur has its own Airstrip and private planes.
- Students perform experiments while flying over the campus.
- IIT Kanpur offers a real-time experience that won’t be possible at IIT Bombay.
- IIT Kanpur has MOUs related to VTOL, EVTOL Unmanned aerial vehicles, etc.
- The size of the IIT Kanpur campus is almost double that of IIT Bombay.
However, if you are not into Aerospace and are just interested in placements, you should put extra effort into coding, Data Structures or ML, and Python and can consider IIT Bombay as a good choice.
What is the current procedure for selection in ISB (Hyderabad or Mohali) in EEO (early entry option)?
ISB Hyderabad's selection criteria lay great emphasis on Work Experience. The candidates are preferred and differentiated based on this aspect a lot here. To overcome this problem, ISB Hyderabad has come up with an Early Entry Option wherein candidates with little or no work experience can freely be evaluated on the basis of their academic performance, leadership potential, and personality attributes. Some highlights of the selection process of an Early Entry candidate are
- The early entry applicants will have to in turn showcase their skills and capability by putting forward their goals, their prior achievements, and experiences, and why they are pursuing an MBA. An early-entry applicant has no work experience so his reason for MBA should be backed by strong goals.
- Because your academic performance will be the major criterion of evaluating your profile, each and every aspect of the same will be checked thoroughly. Any flaws can pose a problem to your admission.
- For an Early Entry applicant, his interview round is the most crucial as his personal attributes need to be evaluated which can be done through the interview only.
The best thing an Early Entry applicant can do to increase his/her chances of admission is to get involved in extracurricular activities or get additional certificates and prepare best for the interview
What is the best ragging experience you have had at Madras Institute Of Technology?
My cousin went to MIT and faced it during his first semester. His seniors from the third-year department caught him red-handed one night while he got late in getting back to his hostel during the weekend. He arrived at 9 and was taken by them to the railway track from Chrompet to Pallavaram.
- They walked and asked him about his personal and academic backgrounds. After this, the popular question came up, which was about the number of girls in his class.
- After reaching Pallavaram, they all bought tickets for themselves for the beach station but didn't pay for him. When the train arrived after ten minutes, they asked him to yell out some gibberish at the station, as part of the ragging.
- The people on the station were clearly amused.
Ragging is an MIT tradition during the first year of college and then when the seniors are graduating, students are asked to do what they like to dance, sing, run, wrestle, walk, travel, bring gifts, etc. This is not scary at all, rather fun to do. My cousin faced similar incidents twice or thrice, not any harsh form of ragging but experiential stuff, which made him cherish memories of that time.
