As per the alumni of CIPET, DPT, and DPMT both are good and a bit different from each other. Students opting for DPT have limited career growth. For DPT, areas of growth are limited to processing or quality executive. The exposure for students opting for DPMT is vast. The opportunities for DPMT include tool room, mould design, research and development, and new product development.
Points of Focus:
- In DPT, the strength, toughness, melting point, and applications of polymers are focused upon along with plastics and machine maintenance.
- In DPMT, the points of focus are CNCs milling and CNCs lathe, mould maintenance, EDM electric discharge machine, and designing. DPMT mainly involves the manufacturing of moulds for structuring plastics. With the knowledge of mold designing, students will get an overview of the processing and necessary operations involved.
Difference:
- In DPT and DPMT, the only difference lies in the syllabus is the addition of tooling knowledge and design knowledge in DPMT.
- The mould design in the DPMT syllabus also teaches 2D-3D designing of mold in the tool room which can help you to become a master of plastics.

You should choose Acharya Institute of Technology ISE. It is the best engineering college in Bangalore. It offers good academics and extra-curricular. The ISE department has a brilliant faculty base. For ISE, Acharya Institute of Technology placements are pretty good. Students receive an average CTC of around INR 11 LPA - 12 LPA. Many core companies visit the campus placements. One of my friends studied at Kalindi College of Delhi University. According to her, it is a really good institution and offers decent opportunities. SPM is also a good college and it has its fair share of pros and cons. It is a well facilitated institution. Here are some facts about both of them:
Kalindi College:
- They have a highly experienced faculty. They are also helpful towards the students, you will get to learn a lot from them.
- The student crowd is diverse.
- Students here have to maintain a 80% attendance, otherwise they will not be able to sit for the examinations.
- Being in Delhi, it offers enough industrial exposure.
SPM:
- It has active clubs and societies students can take part in.
- They give a fair opportunity to every student.
- It also has one of the best auditoriums in all DU colleges.
- Their canteen is affordable and offers hygienic food.
- The administration and faculty are not up to the mark. They are not cooperative with the students.
- The faculty members do not take initiative to encourage practical works, allow creativity, have valid arguments, etc.
- Also the college does not provide hostel facilities so people either have to live as paying guests or have to commute on a daily basis.
So even though you might get ample opportunities like internships there is no active participation for this SPM lags a lot behind than the other DU colleges.
Overall SPM is a below average college where management does not put the slightest efforts to make it a better place. Therefore Kalindi will be a better option.

Here is the step-by-step process to obtain a migration certificate from BPUT
- Step 1: Get an application form to apply for a migration certificate along with the college registration ID.
- Step 2: Fill in this application form and get it signed by your college principal.
- Step 3: Attach the Migration certificate fees of Rs 100/- in the form of a demand draft in favor of BPUT payable at Rourkela with the application form and then send it to BPUT, Rourkela.
You are likely to receive the migration certificate within a few days. I think it’s difficult to get the certificate immediately but you can try coming to BPUT Rourkela once your application form has been signed by your college authority. Meet the concerned officer here and ask if they can get your work done right away. If you are lucky, you might as well get the certificate on the spot.
