Can you share some interesting memories of Bethune College?

PD
Priti Dixit, Posted On : November 18th, 2021
B.Sc. Psychology from Bethune College, Kolkata (2022)

Those who think that an all-girls college is not much fun are absolutely wrong. One of my friends from Bethune College said that from attending classes to celebrating festivals, it was always a great experience.

Bethune College teachers are friendly and cordial. The seniors as well as the juniors are enthusiastic and energetic. The college staff was equally cooperative.

The most memorable thing at Bethune College was the inter-college competitions, for which they also received an award.

Bethune was also ranked as the best college by the Education Minister. Every college under Calcutta University should get inspiration from Bethune College.

Which college is the best in terms of college atmosphere, faculty, higher studies, internships and placements: RVCE, PES University or MIT Manipal?

MS
Mayank Sharma Posted On : March 16th, 2022
B.Tech Computer Science, PES University (2020)

Considering all factors like atmosphere, higher studies, faculty base, placements, internship, etc. PES University is better.

It offers an ideal environment for studies. The much-rumored strictness on campus is stereotyped. There are a few basic rules that you need to follow as a student, but these are manageable.

The campus is an amazing place to be in. There are many student-run societies and clubs in which you can take part.

It offers good placements and internship opportunities. PES University placements highlights of 2022 stats an average CTC of INR 6.5 LPA, and the highest CTC of INR 49.75 LPA

M.Sc. Computer Science, Shivaji University (2011)

Some of my friends studied at Shivaji University, so let me share their experiences, which might give you some options on what to do on the weekends.

  • If you prefer spending time in and around the campus, late at night the student union organizes a weekly event that includes different themes from karaoke, art and crafts, games, and much more.
  • You can also take part in sports events both by watching or participating in them.
  • There are many temples to visit like the Mahalaxmi temple and Jyotiba temple situated on hills.
  • You can also visit Panhala fort which is nearby Kolhapur.
  • If you do not prefer outings on the weekends, you can stay at your hostel and work on your communication and personality development skills.
  • You can start by solving Aptitude, mathematical and logical questions.
  • If you get tired you can relax and watch movies, roam around with your roommates or friends.
  • Also, try practicing meditation or yoga to maintain your concentration and health.

Therefore there are a lot of things you could do during the weekends, be it staying indoors or roaming outdoors, there is a scope to indulge in any extracurricular activities.

How is the hostel and campus life for first year students at MNIT Jaipur as compared to MNNIT Allahabad?

AV
Anuj Verma Posted On : April 30th, 2021
Worked at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur

Hostel and campus life are subjective things that will vary between individuals; there is no metric to comparatively quantify the same. I can give you some idea about the hostel and campus life at MNIT Jaipur and MNNIT Allahabad based on what I heard from my friends at the institutes.

Comparison:

  • Location: This is the best thing about MNIT Jaipur as it is located in the best locale of Jaipur, Malviya Nagar. This is one of the most happening places in the city and you would enjoy proper city life. In comparison Allahabad is a smaller and more old school town, so you may not enjoy proper city life. But then, this is subjective of course.
  • Campus: You will get uninterrupted fast internet access. The campus has 9 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels. There is one mega boy’s hostel with 1000 bad capacity and one mega girl’s hostel with 600 beds capacity. All others are medium-sized (200-300 student capacity). In the first year, students share with two or four other students in their rooms. After that single rooms are allotted.
  • Weather: The climate of Jaipur is harsh and hot most of the time. Allahabad, being in the plains, should have a comparatively pleasant climate.
  • Food: The mess food at MNIT Jaipur is tasteless and pathetic.
  • Other facilities: The computer center of MNIT Jaipur is really very good and is of a very high standard.

Based on what I heard from my friends at these two institutions, it seems that MNIT Jaipur offers a better hostel and campus life.

NIT Silchar is incredible in terms of infrastructure and the lush green campus. The freshmen have separate hostels that are fully furnished and have all the facilities. Eventually, you will start to enjoy your campus life with your classmates or roommates. Of course, there are some cons at NIT Silchar that you may face at every college. Overall, it would be a good experience.

How do IIM and IIT students from Jammu (J & K) study in a conflict environment? Do their parents allow them to study there?

DA
Deepesh Agarwal Posted On : January 2nd, 2023
Former Marketing. (2018–2020)

Unlike the general misconception, Jammu is as safe as any other city in India. Only Kashmir is inflicted by riots and has a conflict environment. My sister had no doubts when she made the decision to pursue MBA from IIM Jammu. In fact, even our parents did not worry about her relentlessly.

As a part, a little concern on their part is justified. But if the riots and conflicts are the reason your parents can rest assured as Jammu is a very safe city.

Moreover, IITs and IIMs are institutes of great national importance. Hence strict regulations are imposed to maintain safety within the campus.

What is the amount that is needed to spend to survive a month in hostel at the MBA program at TAPMI, Manipal? As in, food, electricity bills, outings etc? What is the minimum and maximum amount needed

DK
Divya Kaur Posted On : April 18th, 2023
Studied PGDM from T. A. Pai Management Institute (2011)

People there usually have a monthly spending of 50K if they have a vehicle/bike and eat out almost every day. If you don’t party or eat out, you could last on less than 4000 rupees/month. A person living frugally for 22 months could only possibly need to spend 79K. You will also have to pay 500–600 per person every month for power. This is possible to manage in a large non-AC room. In conclusion, it’s definitely possible to live without spending a whole deal of money at TAPMI.
