One of my friends studied at Hansraj College, therefore I am quite familiar with it. Let me share his orientation at the college. 

• The one thing that can be assured is that you will have the best 3 years of your life here.
• The orientation in colleges is basically to make the freshers familiarize with the college. 
• It includes an address by the Principal and other senior faculty members. 
• There will be some performances like Ganesh Vandana, dance, singing, etc. by the college societies. 
• The annual magazine ‘Hans’ will also be launched which contains the previous year’s events and achievements by the college.

Make sure you attend the orientation. It's a great step towards interacting with people. You will get to know about your college history, facilities, societies, leisure joints, etc. Also, you will not have any difficulty in finding the room for your classes the next day since you will already be familiar with the building.

IIM Shillong's brand value can be determined through these aspects.

• Placements: IIM Shillong has seen a gradual rise in the placement figures. This year the institute witnessed a 100% placement percentage with an increase of 72.56% in the Highest CTC to INR 55.22 LPA whereas the average CTC increased by 20.50% which stood at INR 23.10 LPA.
• Competitions: The tremendous growth of the institute can be attributed to the various National Level competitions it has won so far. These competitions were conducted by companies like Yes Bank, Loreal, CFA institute, and other B Schools and also competed against IIM Shillong.
• Crowd: The crowd at IIM Shillong has a diverse academic background ranging from IITs, and NITs, to LSR, SRCC, and even St. Stephen’s. Many State level cricketers and badminton players also make it to IIM Shillong owing to their high CAT percentile. However, the majority of the crowd is engineers.
• Association: Many important personalities including Union Ministers have visited the campus for conducting talks and convocations. Also, the Late APJ Abdul Kalam was strongly associated with IIM Shillong.

I think these points are more than enough to give an insight into IIM Shillong's brand name.

Most people praise IIM Kashipur for its excellent architecture and scenic location. 

My brother was a pass out of IIM Kashipur and according to him what set the campus apart from other campuses was the sense of individualism it offered. You have a feeling that you belong not just to an IIM but to IIM Kashipur which is unique. You have a different aura along with a sense of individualism that molds you into an excellent leader.

The students are loners who belong to their nation more than any state, linguistic group, or committee for that matter. Although only half or less of the batch has this mindset, it’s satisfying to watch them grow individually. Exceptions include some grouping and communism on the basis of geographical diversity.

Amity University, Lucknow being a reputed university takes ragging very seriously. Every student has to submit an Affidavit at the beginning of the year.

There is no ragging in the campus but seniors tend to take your introductions, but no student is tormented in any manner. 

The laws regarding ragging are very strict and contain harsh punishments. It could hamper your career, if found guilty.

The infrastructure and environment at IIITDM Jabalpur are quite good and happening. It is 10 km away from the main city, Jabalpur. But when it comes to college campus life, it is amazing and the environment is beautiful.

• The campus of IIITDM Jabalpur is around 300 acres.
• There is a separate hostel for both boys and girls.
• The computer lab is well equipped with all the required technical equipment and the libraries are air-conditioned.
• There are several clubs to join according to the student's interest which include Cultural Clubs, Sports Clubs and Technical Clubs.
• The college also organizes three main fests which include: Tarang (The Cultural Fest), Gusto (The Sports Fest) and Abhikalpan (The Technical Fest).
• These are among Central India's Largest Fest. Several activities are conducted by the college throughout the year for the overall development of a student.
• A swimming pool is under construction, there is a gym with a decent number of equipment.
• The mess food is better than the other colleges. There is a canteen also.

The environment is quite good. There are people from all over the country and they share their cultures and study happily in college.

TAPMI celebrates all major Indian festivals. So, various cuisines from various states are prepared over special lunch and dinner. On a regular day, it's a combination of south and north Indian cuisine at dinner, lunch, and breakfast. Overall, the food is good and even sumptuous at times.

I asked my friend about his campus life experience at IIM Ranchi. He shared with me his elaborate experience. Some aspects include 

Placement: The placement scenarios at IIM Ranchi have been great for the past few years. It boasts of 100% placement percentage. The statistics are as follows

Infrastructure: The temporary campus does not restrict the students from availing world-class facilities. The hostels offer single-room occupancy and amazing views. The campus has 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities. Other amenities include a library, a computer room, a cafeteria, a tuck shop, and a medical room that is open 24/7.

Faculty: The professors are experienced, learned and humble. They adopt effective teaching methodologies that enhance our perspective of the course. In addition, the live projects and industrial surveys give a practical approach to theoretical knowledge. It makes them ready to face the industry and the real world.

Miscellaneous: Various annual events like Agon, Rush and Radix give the students ample opportunities to enhance their extracurricular skills.

So Yes, it is completely worth taking admission here.

My brother was a day scholar at NIT Jalandhar and according to him being a day scholar in NIT Jalandhar is not easy. You might face several issues as a day scholar.

• Making friends becomes more difficult as no one prefers a day scholar 

• You cannot enjoy the freedom of a hostel life

• Commuting back and forth every day is a hefty task

• You cannot participate in a lot of competitions and performances as they require long hours of stay

So if you want to make the most out of your college as a day scholar make sure you use all its resources to the fullest extent. Make the best of your time inside the campus and learn skills like typing.
