Gitam or Andhra University which one is better?
According to the reviews online, I found out that, AU by all means is better than GITAM University, here's an exposition, as to why-
- Academics: AU offers quality education compared to GITAM. You will also have plenty of time to participate in extracurricular activities, which have their value too. Not only this, but AU also offers exchange programs.
- Location: AU is in the centre of the city and on one side it has the RK beach. AU is 2kms away from the bus station and 3–4 kms from the railway station.
- Faculty: Sometimes AU professors allow scholars to take a class, which is not great. But the main faculty is really highly experienced.
- Campus: With a 350- 400 acres campus and buildings, gyms, stadiums, 2 grounds, and labs with equipment for research and practicals, AU can be said to have a nice campus.
- Placements: As for placements, GITAM has an upper hand, with packages ranging from INR 3 LPA to INR 6 LPA. But AU will provide students with the proper exposure, enough for them to secure good job offers.

Andhra University also has colonial-style hostels, with the availability of food for INR 2200 per month. AU has cheaper fees anyway, in GITAM the fee is between INR 1 to 3 lakhs for different courses but in AU it is the 10k-30k only.
Is ISB better than IIM A/B/C and FMS Delhi?
My uncle is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta and also an ex-employee of ISB. So I asked him about the same. He told me that the faculty of IIM Calcutta focuses on the overall development of students and not just academics. They prepare you for the life ahead and not just for exams or placement. ISB on the other hand due to its short duration course is unable to cope with this aspect. Also, the fees of ISB are much more than that of IIMs. The only merit is that it saves you a year as the flagship program at IIMs is two years.
So ISB is a good choice for you only if
- You are looking for a course of shorter duration
- You are okay with spending a lot of money
- You value the degree more than what you learn from it
Both the institutes are world-class and therefore not much comparison can be drawn from them.
What is the highest and average package offered in ECE at NIT Durgapur?
The reality about ECE placements at NIT Durgapur is that the ECE core sector companies rarely visit for placements and most packages are offered by IT sector companies. A few core companies that have visited in the past are CDOT, Sankalp Semiconductors, Idea Cellular & Reliance Jio. Recently big shots like Qualcomm, TI, and NXP have started visiting the campus for recruitment.

I have got Energy Engineering (Dual) in IIT Bombay and Computer Science in BITS Pilani. What should I opt for?
BITS Pilani has an effective placement support system, especially in the CSE branch, but in the long run, Energy Engineering at IIT Bombay is the best option. CSE is becoming outdated, and you will end up jobless. So, it is better to go with Energy engineering, which may have a lot more opportunities in the future as it majorly focuses on renewable technologies, economics, and management.
The add-on advantage of IIT Bombay over BITS is the DS Centre, which is for students who want to pursue entrepreneurship and SINE, which helps to build up your own company
So, go with the option IIT Bombay in Energy Engineering
How good is doing a PhD in BITS Pilani compared to IITs?
The mentors and research facilities at IITs are much better than at BITS Pilani. However, the passing process is as much more difficult at IITs.
BITS Pilani, on the other hand, is flexible to incorporate the changing scenario and a PhD from BITS Pilani is much more industry relevant.
One of my cousins had a bad experience at BITS Pilani during his Ph.D. in the Mechanical branch. According to him, a large number of Ph.D. students in BITS Pilani drop out because of the intense pressure for producing results. PhD students are burdened with numerous tasks including the evaluation work for B.Tech. The saving grace for Ph.D. at BITS is that under a guide, your Ph.D. will be completed in 3 years like an MS from IIT.
Considering my cousin’s experience, you should consult the alumni at BITS Pilani before choosing the institution for pursuing your Ph.D. Otherwise, BITS Pilani is a reputable institution and its Ph.D. degree will hold great relevance. More so, if you get the right mentors and the right facilities, the name tag of an institution becomes secondary.
What is the GRE cutoff for ISB Hyderabad?
Having friends at ISB Hyderabad, I got to know that there is no such cut-off for ISB.
- Firstly the interview panel checks your overall achievements starting from schooling till your graduation level, in the curricular and co-curricular field.
- They examine your entire profile for your selection. Then you get shortlisted for further selection.
- Many of them did not manage to get very high scores in the GRE but still, got selected. It is just because of their aptitude that is reflected in their profile.
- It is easier for those who already served in the Indian army and then decided to enter ISB. It has been seen that they have already cracked the SSB exam so they must have higher values like integrity, patience, and discipline imbibed in their personality.
Thus we can say that there is no particular cut-off, but for ISB, Hyderabad you are judged according to your entire profile.

Here are some facts about life at JIPMER-
- The college strictly follows a no-ragging policy.
- JIPMER takes discipline quite seriously. Academics is considered the second most important thing. A low attendance will straightaway lead to supplementary.
- The dress code needs to be followed sincerely. Boys can’t keep odd hairstyles and mustache cuts. You can’t wear open shoes to the clinics, even during hot weather.
- You will not be excused for a bad history taking during clinics.
- Among all academic activities, clinic postings are given the utmost importance. This ensures that you get ample exposure to cases.
- The PSM department will take you on visits to different places, from watching mosquitoes grow in the Vector Control Institute to studying villages in remote areas.
- Post-hospital and duty hours, you are free to do whatever you like.
- The hostel facility is top-notch. Hostels are completely secluded from the crowded hospital area, and ample security is provided. The hostels are at par with AIIMS Delhi hostels.
- You’ll enjoy midnight hostel parties and movie nights.
- On Curie Day and Osler Night, the girls' hostels are open for boys, and vice versa.
- The college fest, Spandan, is celebrated over 7 days and nights. No classes are held during this period.
Overall, JIPMER will provide a rich environment for your professional growth. Apart from that, Pondicherry is a beautiful place which you should definitely visit upon joining this institute. Some of these experiences, I am sure, you won’t get at most other medical colleges.
How much percentile do I need to get a call from MDI Gurgaon, IMT Ghaziabad, IIM K, SP Jain, NITIE?
To secure admission to top MBA institutes in India, you should aim for CAT percentiles from 85 onwards. Here's the order of the institutes you should target in descending order - IIM K with 97+ percentile, MDI with 96+, IMT Ghaziabad with 90+, SPJain with 85+, and NITIE with as high as possible sectional-wise.
Even though SPJain is a premier institute, it gives a call from the 85 percentile onward, since they focus on overall values that an individual possesses and want students with more values in them. They have 2 group interviews, so they follow a rejection procedure.
NITIE has a sectional cutoff, so it's advisable to have as high as possible sectional-wise, as many people with an overall CAT percentile in the range of 97-98 were not selected in either of their 2 programs(PGDM and PGDIESM) in 2016.
IIM K also has a sectional cutoff of 90+, so it's important to score well in each section.
It's worth noting that these institutes do not have a sectional cutoff, but it's always advisable to have a 90+ sectional percentile to be on the safer side. Aim for high percentile and sectional scores to improve your chances of securing a seat in these prestigious institutes.
Is Chandigarh University good for a BCA?
