Between Ashoka University and Krea University which is a better option for UG in Liberal Arts?
Krea University is a newly established university, students tend to have their doubts while opting for it. Ashoka University on the other hand is a well-known esteemed university and is a brand tag in itself resulting in a huge number of aspirants.
Academics:
- The students of Ashoka University have been the aces for a long time.
- The Social Science department (Economics, Political Science, History, and Sociology) is often compared to Delhi University’s Social Science department which is a huge achievement.
- Their Computer Science course is exceptional and has been approved by the University of Pennsylvania’s CiS.
- The environment at Ashoka is lively and competitive.
Faculty:
- The academics in both the universities are similar but Ashoka University has better and higher qualified faculty with numerous research papers to be credited for.
- They have full-time professors who are helpful and cooperative.
Location:
- The distance of the university from your residence is a huge determining factor.
- Krea University is two and a half hours away from Chennai City and Ashoka University on the other hand is over an hour from Delhi.
- It is a known fact that Delhi has better transport facilities therefore traveling and transport facilities are not much of an issue.
- Krea University is located in a remote place and the only transportation available is by bus from Chennai.
- Students who would choose comfort over education would rather strike out this option.
Financial aid:
- The financial aid provided in both universities is limited as it depends on fundings and financial constraints.
- It is suggested to not rely on it much as it would not be sufficient.
Krea University is undoubtedly a rising to the top university and would be filled with challenges if you opt for it. For now, Ashoka University seems to suit better for any student.
Are the attendance norms strictly followed in Ramjas College Delhi University?
No, the attendance norms were not strictly followed at Ramjas College. But this does not mean you can skip classes as you will. Yes, the college is a bit lenient when it comes to submitting assignments on time and having regular classes but the students have to take the internals on time.
As per the new batches, there are 5 marks for attendance which no one acquires because then you need to have to maintain more than 75–80% attendance. It becomes impossible for students who are involved with societies so they submit ECA sheets to the teacher. This is done only if you desperately need the 5 marks or if you are not being allowed to sit for the internals.
Which one is better IIT Bombay or NIT Silchar?
For obvious reasons, IIT Bombay is a better choice than NIT Silchar.
- Bombay has much more locational advantage than NIT Silchar
- The teachers are experienced unlike in NIT Silchar wherein the teachers are still completing their PhDs from MIT, CalTech & Stanford.
- IIT Bombay has higher JEE rankers even higher than NIT Silchar
- IIT Bombay has much better companies that visit the campus for placements like Google, Microsoft, Credit Suisse, Intel, etc.
- IIT Bombay has better infrastructure and amenities than NIT Silchar such as swimming pool and multiplexes.
- IIT Bombay has better foreign exchange programs than NIT Silchar
- IIT Bombay has richer research culture than NIT Silchar
- The Mood Indigo fest is more vibrant and famous than the Incandescence fest of NIT Silchar
I would suggest you go for IIT Bombay over NIT Silchar any day.
Which is the best college in Gwalior, Amity University or ITM University Turari?
ITM Gwalior and Amity University, Gwalior, both are equally good options but here, we are going to analyze the two concerning different categories. Amity, Gwalior is considered better when compared to ITM, Gwalior as it is ranked at #151 by NIRF.

- Various firms like Aditya, Adobe, Amazon, CitiCorp, etc., visit the campus every year. The placement rate for Amity is 97%.
- Students are permitted to sit for placements in their sixth or seventh semester. The placement process of Amity University is conducted in four phases.
- The highest package for Amity was 6.6 lakhs per annum whereas the average package was 2.97 lakhs per annum.
ITM University Turari
- ITM not only provides on-campus placements but also open-campus opportunities. This particular year, a Job Fair was held on the campus where students from major universities participated from all over Madhya Pradesh.
- Top-tier companies like Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Cognizant, Tata Steel, Byjus, etc., visit the campus which proves that the placement rate is quite high for ITM yet it is not as good as Amity.
- ITM, on the other hand, provides 62,226 placement opportunities to its students with 372 major firms visiting the campus.
- This particular year, Byjus visited the campus and hired 4 students with a package of 10 lakh per annum.
Overall, it seems that Amity, Gwalior stands as a clear winner because of its rankings and faculty but ITM Gwalior has its advantages and offers good education too.
How good is the MCA course at IIT Roorkee?
The MCA course has been discontinued since 2015 owing to its outdated curriculum. It does not offer an MCA program anymore. The key highlights of the program were
- Curriculum: The coursework and the pedagogy adopted were outdated and needed a lot of improvisation to meet the industry trends.
- Faculty: IIT Roorkee has a shortage of CS faculty in general. The course MCA, although run by the Mathematics department, was an interdisciplinary course that covered various fields. The lack of CS faculty and Math teachers teaching CS was a major drawback of the program.
- Placements: The placement scenario was also decent but since the program is not known among many, the demand is also less. It is the duty of the Central Placement Team to inform companies about the course. Yet, many top firms like MS, Amazon, Directi, Inmobi, Symantec, and Nvidia allowed students to sit for placements.
All in all, this course is not good enough to be chosen over BTech. The only reason some joined this program was to get a taste of the rich college life and opportunities offered at IIT Roorkee. Had this course been running under the CS department with a few updates, it would not have faced such a setback.
How are the first year NSIT boys' hostel rooms?
NSUT Delhi has an advantage over many other colleges with regard to hostel rooms. The fresher boys’ hostel mainly has single rooms. Only around 30% are allotted double rooms. This selection is purely based on the lottery system.
The room size is fine and manageable. The Cleaner comes every day early in the morning. But it is mainly you who has to maintain a nice and clean room. During May and pre-September, the rooms get quite hot. You can keep a room cooler. Also, keeping your room’s door open will help. The ground floor is comparatively cooler.
There are four washrooms on every floor in decent condition. Water shortage problems are there, but quite rare. The shortage is faced by only a few wings at a time. During the winter, you can access hot water around the clock. You can keep induction cooktops, racks, coolers, green boards, hammer nails, and kettles in your room without any problem.
Thus, NSUT Delhi provides decent hostel rooms to fresher boys.
Is IIM passing tough?
IIMs are one of the most sought-after B-Schools by MBA aspirants in the country and thus its admission criteria are equally challenging. This ensures only the best make it into the Institute and maintains the standard of education.
It would be an understatement to say that passing IIM is tough as it is more than just tough. The competition is at another level and you will find many 98+ percentilers fighting for the seats. You might not get a call unless you are one of the top scorers in your particular field.
For those with a low academic profile, can always target other B Schools or IIMs like IIM Kolkata, IIM Lucknow, or IIM Indore instead of being fixated on IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
Admission to IIM Ahmedabad, the best IIM, is extremely difficult. It calls only the top 50 scorers from each academic discipline irrespective of their academic record. Basically, anything below 99.96 percentile will not fetch them a call while for non-engineers, a 99.7+ percentile might fetch them a call. Some options to consider apart from IIM Ahmedabad are
- IIM Calcutta: Calcutta has the most lenient criteria as it does not consider your graduation scores or work experience for shortlisting.
- IIM Lucknow: It does not consider class X marks for shortlisting.
- IIM Kozhikode: It also does not consider class X scores while shortlisting.
- IIM Indore: It normalizes the board percentages.
Candidates with a low academic profile can opt out of these top IIMs or even consider other B schools.
I live in Vadodara. Which is better MSU or DDU Nadiad for computers?
One of my friends studied in DDU and after gathering some information online, I can give you a proper comparison. Analyzing this you will be able to make your decision.
- DDU has an edge over MSU, when comparing CSE departments.
- MSU's programming events at their annual technical festival, FootPrints, was also disappointing.
- They use outdated equipment in their labs and the overall competition was not as good as DDU.
- The Computer Engineering course of DDU has programming languages and technologies early on in the 4 year duration and core CS theory subjects after, unlike MSU.
- Java is taught in DDU in the 3rd sem but in MSU, it comes in the 6th.
- Web technologies are introduced in DDU in the 4th sem unlike MSU .If you choose DDU, expect lots of exams and strict rules.
- FootPrints at MSU happen at a much larger scale than DDU's Felicific.
- The DDU schedule will keep you busy and focussing less on extracurricular activities.
- MSU hostels have received a lot of student complaints. In comparison, DDU's hostel is more comforting.

It is suggested that you go for DDU instead of MSU. But finally it is your choice. Choose the one that meets your needs and requirements, as it will be easier to blend in.
Why are IIT Ropar and IIT Mandi preferred less as compared to PEC, CHANDIGARH??
Firstly, I refuse to believe that PEC is preferred to IITs like Mandi and Ropar. PEC has started improving its infrastructure of late and is yet to reach IIT standards. PEC has gained little fame just because of its location and its heritage. IIT Ropar and IIT Mandi are better in every other aspect.
- IIT Ropar and IIT Mandi have a rich research culture and students are involved in research work in diverse fields.
- Although IIT Ropar and Mandi infrastructure is lacking as compared to older IITs, I believe it is sufficient for the number of students these new IITs have.
- IIT Ropar and IIT Mandi have done well in MHRD rankings whereas PEC has coped poorly. IIT Mandi Overall ranking by NIRF is 43 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022 while PEC ranks 87.
- The JEE Main cutoff of PEC has been deteriorating subsequently over the years whereas that of IIT Ropar and IIT Mandi has risen thus proving that the latter is better than the former.
From all these points we can safely conclude that PEC has lost its reputation and standards due to poor administrative policies and thus is not preferred to new IITs.
With 95% in CBSE, should I try for a B.Com (Hons) from DU or pursue a BBA from Christ University?
Both the colleges are well known and the degrees that you want to pursue are in high demand. However, it depends on your interests and preferences. A BBA degree from Christ University focuses on the various aspects of marketing, business administration, management, operation and human resources. The B.Com degree from Delhi University focuses on finance, commerce, economics and accounting. Another factor that you must consider is the location of the college and which is more comfortable for you. Both the colleges have active campus life but Christ is the winner because of the multiple events, fests and club activities that take place every day. The placements for both the courses are satisfactory. So, give it a thought and choose the degree that you are passionate about.
