Which one should I opt for IIT Delhi B.Tech Computer Science Engineering or IIT Kharagpur B.Tech Electrical Engineering

A
ArcaneAxiom Posted On : April 14th, 2026

IIT Delhi’s B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a cutting-edge curriculum with a strong focus on AI/ML, leading to excellent internship opportunities with top companies like Amazon and Google, which can significantly boost your job prospects. On the other hand, IIT Kharagpur’s B.Tech in Electrical Engineering has a solid reputation, but the internship and placement data isn't as robust. While both colleges provide a good education and the IIT tag, the tech-driven nature of IIT Delhi’s program gives it an edge in terms of career outcomes. If you're leaning towards a future in tech with better job packages, IIT Delhi is the way to go; however, if you have a strong interest in electrical engineering and value a diverse skill set, IIT Kharagpur is also a great choice.

Should I go for B.Tech Textile Technology in IIT Delhi or B.Tech Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering in IIT Kharagpur?

C
CrimsonQueen Posted On : April 13th, 2026

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Textile Technology offers a solid foundation with a manageable curriculum, but when it comes to placements, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering clearly takes the lead. With over 90% placement rates and top packages reaching up to 2.5 crores, Kharagpur attracts major tech companies like Amazon and Google, while IIT Delhi's textile program, although decent, doesn't match that level of industry demand. If you're aiming for a high-paying tech career, IIT Kharagpur is the smarter choice; however, if you’re more inclined towards a niche field and entrepreneurship, IIT Delhi could still be a good fit.

How do the placements really compare between IIT Delhi B.Tech Textile Technology and DTU B.Tech Information Technology?

T
TarnishedTigerTalon Posted On : April 13th, 2026

No other college or university can compete with the IIT tag, no matter how good they are.

But in this case, I can assure you that in terms of:

  • Infrastructure
  • College life
  • Placement opportunities
  • Freedom (to pursue your skills in terms of time)
  • Fees
  • Quality of teaching

There won’t be any significant difference across these parameters, except for that tag mentioned earlier. And remember, that tag doesn’t last more than 2–3 years after you complete your course.

In the corporate world, what truly matters is how good you are at your work. They don’t care if you’re from IIT or DTU. Thanks!

How do the placements really compare between IIT Delhi B.Tech Mechanical Engineering and DTU B.Tech Information Technology?

E
EchoingEarth Posted On : April 13th, 2026

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering shines with a robust curriculum that stays relevant to industry needs, alongside exceptional internship opportunities at top firms like Google and Amazon, leading to placement rates above 85%. In contrast, DTU's B.Tech in Information Technology is solid but typically attracts fewer high-profile companies, which may impact overall placement quality. The campus life at IIT Delhi is vibrant, with numerous clubs and events, while DTU also offers a good experience but may not match the extensive resources and community found at IITD. Personally, I would choose IIT Delhi for its superior placement prospects, diverse internships, and a more enriching campus environment, making it the better option for anyone looking to maximize their career potential.

Should I go for B.Tech Civil Engineering in IIT Delhi or B.Tech Electrical Engineering in IIT Bombay?

C
CuriousCrow Posted On : April 13th, 2026

IIT Delhi for Civil Engineering and IIT Bombay for Electrical Engineering both have their strengths, but when it comes to fees and ROI, IIT Bombay may offer better financial value. IIT Delhi's estimated cost is around 4-5 lakh for those exempt from tuition, while IIT Bombay likely has higher fees, especially for non-reserved category students. Placement opportunities at IIT Bombay seem more lucrative, especially with tech giants consistently recruiting, making it a better bet for a higher salary post-graduation. If you're passionate about Civil Engineering and want a slightly lower financial burden, go for IIT Delhi; however, if you're leaning towards higher earning potential in Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay is the smarter financial choice.

Should I go for B.Tech Mathematics and Computing in IIT Delhi or B.Tech + M.Tech Chemical Engineering in IIT Kharagpur?

K
KnowingKnitter Posted On : April 13th, 2026

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing offers a rigorous curriculum that leads to high-paying internships and placements, especially in tech and quant firms, with top packages reaching 4 crores. The tuition fees are manageable, with various scholarships available for students from lower-income backgrounds. On the other hand, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech + M.Tech in Chemical Engineering provides a structured path but may not match the ROI of IIT Delhi, especially in terms of tech-centric job opportunities. If you're passionate about mathematics and computing and aim for a high-tech career, IIT Delhi is the smarter financial choice. However, if you prefer a stable engineering discipline with a longer academic track, IIT Kharagpur could be a good fit.

Which one should I opt for IIT Delhi B.Tech Material Science Engineering or IIT Roorkee B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering

E
ElectricEdelberry Posted On : April 13th, 2026

There’s no denying that Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) has more job opportunities than Material Science Engineering. However, IIT Delhi is far superior to NITK in every aspect. You've worked hard to get into IIT, so take this chance or you might regret it later.

Here are some points to consider:

  • You can change your department after the first year if you attend classes and put in some effort.
  • You might end up enjoying your chosen department.
  • You'll have more opportunities at IITs.
  • You can also pursue a minor degree in a branch that interests you.

Make the most of your IIT experience!

Which one should I opt for IIT Delhi B.Tech Engineering Physics or IIT Kharagpur B.Tech Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering

T
TrollTenrec Posted On : April 13th, 2026

First, ask yourself if you genuinely have an interest in a specific field. Your decision shouldn't hinge on salary packages or closing ranks. Be honest with yourself! If you have a passion for a particular branch, choose it, regardless of which IIT you’re considering (excluding the newer ones, for which NITs might be a better option).

It’s likely that you don’t have a strong preference yet, given your limited knowledge of the branches. So, let’s compare them. Generally, Electrical and Mechanical are the more sought-after branches, being core fields, compared to the others mentioned. If that’s what you want, then the focus shifts to choosing between IIT BHU and IIT Gandhinagar. Between these two, IIT BHU is the better choice as it’s an older IIT, likely offering superior faculty and facilities compared to newer ones like IIT Gandhinagar. So, if you're considering only these two options, I would definitely recommend Mechanical at IIT BHU. With good performance, you might even have the chance to switch to Electrical at BHU later.

Now, looking at the bigger picture, I can confidently say that IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur are both excellent choices!

How do the placements really compare between IIT Delhi B.Tech Textile Technology and IIT Roorkee B.Tech Electrical Engineering?

N
NebulousNoodlesBurger Posted On : April 13th, 2026

IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Textile Technology has impressive placement stats, with over 90% of students getting placed and some packages reaching 2.5 crore LPA, which is quite attractive. However, IIT Roorkee’s B.Tech in Electrical Engineering also boasts strong placement records, especially with big tech companies often recruiting in droves. Given that Roorkee generally has a broader appeal in terms of industries and roles available, I’d say it edges out slightly in job prospects. If you’re leaning towards tech or core engineering roles, IIT Roorkee might be a better fit, while IIT Delhi is great for those looking to pursue niche areas in textiles and startups.
