Both the branches are totally different from each other so first decide what you want to study for the next 4 years. Both the IITs are new and there is not much difference in them. Metallurgy is a sub-branch of mechanical and civil is a core branch. Civil engineering has better job opportunities if you compare it to metallurgy engineering.

The average package at IIT Indore for the year 2019 was 16.05 LPA and at IIT Bhubaneswar it was 11.44 LPA. If you want to get a job in the core-sector then it would be a bit difficult because both the branches have very low placements in the core sector. Students usually go for higher studies and others for non core placements. Civil engineering will give you a better opportunity if you want to go for higher studies.

The suggestion will be that you should focus on what branch you are more passionate about and choose that. Don’t go compare colleges, both are IITs therefore are equally good and offer similar facilities.

B.tech. in Civil engineering is a flagship program of DTU. Admission is made on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in Class XII and candidate’s performance in JEE Main/ JEE Advance.The final selection of the program is based on the allocation of seats through Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The four-year program is an amalgamation of courses to help students understand thedesign and construction of various structures like bridges, buildings, roads, tunnels, and dams.

B.tech. in CSis a flagship program at bothUSIT and MAIT. Admission is made on the basis of candidate’s performance in JEE Mainas well as candidates need to sit for theIPUCET examination, which is conducted by the institute. The program is a dual degree course of 6 years, made by integrating B.tech and M.tech in CS.

• The faculty of DTU are really good and have experienceof working in core companies. Most of the faculty have a doctoral degree.
• The labsof the college are well-structured, and classrooms are also good. The food in the canteen is good and affordable. The medical facilities of the college are also good, and there are good facilities for sports with a gym.

CS from IP colleges

Placement Statistics:

1. The highest packagesoffered to students was 18lakhs for on campus.
2. Many reputed companies like Wipro, Amazon, Flipkart, TCS, Accenture, etc., visit the campus for placements.
3. The highest salarywas reported to have increased byfive percentin recent years.

Faculty and Infrastructure:

• The faculty of IP college are experienced,well-educated, very helpful, and supportive.
• The infrastructure was not greatwith small classrooms.The hostels are old but well maintained. The mess serves the basic food and the canteen is pocket friendly.

IMI Delhi and TAPMI, Manipal are among the top B-Schools in India. IMI Delhi is a better brand than TAPMI. IMI D also has a location-wise benefit as Delhi houses many corporate giants. However TAPMI, Manipal has comparatively better ROI than IMI D. The infrastructure of TAPMI sets the institute apart from the other B-Schools of India.

Both of the B-Schools are equally good so you can choose any of the two institutes. Given below is a brief comparison between the two institutes.

IMI Delhi offers good opportunities for Marketing. The course work includes interesting projects, workshops, guest lectures by industry experts. Students get placed in reputed FMCG companies like Asian Paints, Nestle, Emami, HUL, Piramal Group, Coffee Day Beverages, etc. The job roles offered range from Sales and Marketing, Brand Management, Digital Marketing.

The Electronics and Telecommunications engineering department at VIIT Pune has approximately 25 professors and almost 16 faculties have Ph.Ds with 12 years of experience. Whereas, the IT department of PVGCOET has 11 highly qualified faculty members.

VIIT has awesome Electronics and Telecommunications labs such as 3 computer labs, 4 hardware labs, one virtual lab, and 7 sponsored laboratories with LAN and WiFi internet connection. In PVGCOET, there are 5 IT laboratories as per the requirement of SPPU and AICTE.

The alumni strength of VIIT Pune is stronger than PVGCOET. More than 1000 alumni of VIIT are working with reputed and multinational companies across the country as well as foreign.

The admission processes at VIIT for E & TC and IT at PVGCOET are similar. The admission process for B.Tech students is entrance based.

• PVGCOET accepts MHT-CET scores for admission, whereas, VIIT accepts both JEE Mains and MHT-CET scores for admission.

• The total seats for B.Tech for E & TC at VIIT Pune are about 180 whereas, at PVGCOET total intake for B.Tech IT is 60.
