Which is best, ECE at Thapar University or CSE at Jaypee Noida?
CSE at JIIT is clearly better than ECE at Thapar. You must have a minimum JEE rank of 51,000 to get CSE at JIIT Noida.
There are no state quota, caste quota, or NRI quota at JIIT but Thapar offers a 50% quota for Punjab state students. This results in a superior quality of students at JIIT Noida than Thapar. Due to quotas and an increase in the number of seats, anyone can get admission at Thapar University.
If a student has a 300,000 rank in JEE Main, he will not be able to gain a seat anywhere, but if he is from Punjab, he may be able to secure a place in Electrical Engineering in Thapar. This explains how Thapar's situation has deteriorated.
JIIT will offer you great exposure which is actually required in CSE with regular industrial visits. CSE has more scope in terms of placements than ECE.
Is NIT Bhopal CSE better than NIT Rourkela CSE?
My brother completed his CSE from NIT Bhopal. He does not know about the CSE at NIT Rourkela, however, here are his opinions about CSE at NIT Bhopal-
- Faculty and Teaching Standards - The CSE faculty at NIT Bhopal is not up to the mark. If you are looking for a faculty to guide you and teach you everything, you will be disappointed over there. At NIT Bhopal, you will mostly be on your own. This can be advantageous in that you will get ample time to work on yourself and prepare well for your future.
- Placements - The placement scenario for CSE is quite good at NIT Bhopal. Multiple companies regularly visit the campus for CSE placements and many new ones visit each year. Various companies hire CSE students for different positions. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, SAP, Factset, etc. visit the campus for CSE placements. During 2022, the average package for CSE students stood at INR 17.45 LPA. CSE students also receive internship offers during their pre final/ final year. These internships are of 2, 6 or 10 months and you may even end up with pre placement offers.
NIT Bhopal CSE has a good placement record but not the best faculty. I would suggest you consult the alumni from CSE branch at NIT Rourkela to get a clear picture of this institution as well before you can choose between the two.
I am likely to get EI at BITS Hyderabad and CSE in local top EAMCET colleges in Telangana. Which one should I prefer, or shall I drop this year?
I was in a similar dilemma last year, and ended up choosing BITS Hyderabad. My friends who chose top EAMCET colleges regret their decision at present. BITS does not only offer good academics, it also gives a lot of opportunities and exposure to its students.
If you are passionate about CS, then opt for a dual degree program at BITS, or CS at other colleges. But if you do not have a specific branch in mind, opt for BITS. Later on, you might want to switch from engineering to some other sector, like finance.
The clubs and departments at BITS Hyderabad will give you ample exposure to understand your interests and goals. Moreover, top investment banks, and companies from various sectors visit the campus with good placement offers every year.
BITS Hyderabad has a far better placement record and brand name as compared to EAMCET colleges. It has a rich curriculum, unlike the EAMCET colleges, which give all the importance to theory, and coding is not taught properly. BITS Hyderabad has a good infrastructure with lush green campus.
Thus, if you do not have a specific branch preference, I would recommend BITS Hyderabad over EAMCET colleges any day.
What is the performance of students in NEET PG after the MBBS course in KMC, Manipal?
NEET PG is like any other entrance exam. So the UG college doesn’t really matter when giving your PG entrance.
But it is true that your clinical postings have a bearing on the things you remember when reading your preparation material. Your exposure to clinical signs, diagnosis, radiological findings, and surgical procedures makes you remember things. A dedicated faculty, motivated peers, and hardworking seniors will have a huge impact on you. Good seniors offer tips and tricks on cracking entrance exams.
Coming to KMC Manipal, it is a premiere institute. It is at par with most government medical colleges. The alumni of this college can vouch for its good academics and campus life.
You’ll have to prepare for your PG with efficiency and diligence. Your UG college won’t have much of a role in this regard. KMC Manipal is a good choice for an MBBS, and it will offer you all the facilities and exposure.
What is the placement scene at IIIT Hyderabad for the B.Tech in ECE course?
The B.Tech ECE placements at IIIT Hyderabad are decent. Few top semiconductor companies like Nvidia, Broadcom and Synopsys visit the campus with placement offers. Very few students, however, get offers from core companies. Those who are not placed in core companies get offers from Software companies with decent packages. - CSE companies do not value experience as much as ECE companies.

Which is the better college for pursuing mechanical engineering in Tamil Nadu, PSG or NIT - Trichy?
One of my friends studied in the PSG Mechanical branch. In his opinion, both the colleges are well known and quite famous for Mechanical Engineering. Let me state some facts about them which might help you decide.

- It is considered one of the top 5 NITs. It has earned recognition not only in India but also globally.
- In NIT Trichy you will get much more opportunities and the proper exposure.

- In PSJ the faculty members are really good in their respective fields.
- In PSG students mostly like to learn their subjects by themselves and are independent of the teachers.
- NIT Trichy has all the things required for such a core branch, like Good faculty members, excellent academics, internships, connection with industries, placement statistics, etc.
- All this makes NIT Trichy a better option for Mechanical Engineering.

What are some things to do a month before joining an MBA from IMT, Ghaziabad?
The campus life at IMT Ghaziabad is very stressful and fast-paced. You need to prepare for this well beforehand so that you don’t end up in a slump. I have listed a few skills you can adopt to make your best time in IMT Ghaziabad.

I have completed high school and want to pursue a CSE Degree. Which one should I choose amongst Jadavpur University, IIIT-Delhi, and IIEST (formerly Bengal Science and Engineering College)?
JU is the best option among IIIT Delhi and IIEST for CSE. Although JU is way better than IIEST in CSE placements, it is slightly behind IIIT Delhi. IIIT-D has slightly better CSE placements. But JU offers an excellent ROI which makes it the most favourable option among these colleges. Moreover, its faculty is highly experienced and learned with many Ph.D. holders in just a single department. Here are some other reasons why you should consider joining JU
- It's the only University or Institute in India to host an international cricket team.
- The institute has excellent sports facilities including a swimming pool, a tennis court, and an artificial wall for mountaineering and hiking.
- The institute has an active club culture with many academically and athletically oriented clubs. Some of the unique clubs are the Science Club, Mountaineering and Hiking Club, Photography, Debate Society, and many more.

Can you become a professor in IIMs or IITs after FPM from new IIMs, like Rohtak or Raipur?
Becoming a professor from the new IIMs is definitely possible but rare. The FPM program offered at the new IIMs has varied peers some being freshers while some with Masters from foreign universities.
The following things matter when selecting an Assistant Professor in a new IIM
- Your experience
- The quality of your papers
The chances are rare because most of the new IIMs have professors who have done Ph.D. from older IIMs like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta. Ph.D. is a program that totally depends on your performance and research. The initial years focus solely on research training and cannot be enough to make you eligible for faculty positions.
So your chances are rare but not null.
Can I do MBBS and BA from IGNOU at the same time ?
Yes, UGC has given its approval regarding pursuing two courses at the same time, only provided that one cannot pursue both these courses in regular mode. This basically means that for both courses to be considered valid,, one course has to be in regular mode and the other course must be in distance mode from Open University.
UGC rules are applicable in the case of IGNOU also. Earlier before UGC made such changes, IGNOU did not allow two regular courses simultaneously through the same University. But in accordance with recent regulations, you can do two regular as well as two distance courses at the same time.
