PES University is a private university situated in Bengaluru. The university comprises four campuses, offering various courses under different streams. The college is ranked 93rd by NIRF for its B.Tech courses.

LNM Institute of Technology (LNMIIT) is a deemed university situated in Jaipur. The college has been recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. The college was ranked 37th for private engineering by India Today and 194th for Engineering by NIRF.

Admission Procedure-

PES: B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering is a four-year course at the college and the fees for the same are 13.21 Lakhs for the full period.

• Students seeking admission to CSE at PES must have scored 60% in their 10+2 examinations in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• Eligible candidates are then selected on the basis of their scores in KCET (only for domicile students of Karnataka) or PESSAT, the common entrance examination of the college.

• The college offers 480 seats in this course.

LNMIIT: The college offers B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering as a four-year course at a fee of 12.36 lakhs.

• The eligibility criteria for candidates for CSE is 60% marks in their 10+2 examinations.

• Candidates are further selected on the basis of their score in JEE Main.

• The college offers 240 seats for the course.

PES: The college is built over a large 25-acre campus.

Placements:

PES: CSE has a magnificent placement rate of almost 90%.

• Companies such as Accenture, IBM, JP Morgan, and HP come for placements for CSE.

• The average package offered is 6.5 LPA, with the highest package going over 40 LPA.

LNMIIT:

• The course has a 90% placement rate with companies such as Google, Microsoft, Uber, and Samsung coming for placements.

• The average salary package for CSE was 12LPA, with the highest package going up to 55LPA.

Both colleges are identical on most fronts, however, LNMIIT would be a slightly better preference between the two. LNMIIT specializes in B.Tech courses and provides better infrastructure and facilities. At a lower fee, LNMIIT offers much better placements to its students.

GNDU ranks 88 Overall and 51 in the University rankings list of NIRF 2020. Guru Nanak Dev University or GNDU Amritsar has a faculty strength of 442 members, 49% of which are PhD holders. They have a student population of 8675. 

UIET Chandigarh ranks 72nd in University rankings list. Both GNDU and UIET Chandigarh offers Bachelor in Technology (BTech) in Computer Science.

Panjab University ranks 44th by the NIRF 2020 in the Overall University rankings category. They offer a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science.

• Candidates should have 50% in their 10+2 qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is compulsory.

Panjab University

CSE is the most in demand subject in Engineering. Due to the rapid growth of the corporate industries and IT firms the demand of computer engineers will only increase.

IIITDM Jabalpur has been ranked at 65 for Engineering by JEE Cutoff in 2019 and has been declared as a National Institute of Importance under the Government of India IIIT Act. VIT Vellore on the other hand observes a ranking of 15 by NIRF in 2019 is a leading private university with BTech being its flagship course.

While both the universities offer a great curriculum, IIITDM Jabalpur is known to offer a higher rate of placement and also oversees a greater number of core companies as opposed to VIT Vellore. Students can make their decision based on the given points above.

• For the Undergraduate program at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, the fees during the first year range around 2.6 LPA. Whereas, for BTech at PES University, the fees during the first year ranges around 3.3 LPA.

• The eligibility criteria for the Undergraduate program in CSE at SRM University is that the student must have passed 10+2 with an aggregate of 50%. IIT JEE (Mains) and SRMJEE are the examinations that students need to qualify in order to get selected for the program.

• The eligibility criteria for the BTech program in CSE at PES University is that the student must have passed 10+2 with an aggregate of 45%. In order to get selected, one must pass the entrance exam of KCET.

SRM University:

Between PES University and SRM University, the latter is a better option for CSE. It offers better infrastructure, faculty, and placements for the course.
