Which is better for CSE SASTRA or VELAMMAL engineering college?
SASTRA is a deemed to be University located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It has been ranked 37 by NIRF 2020. Whereas, Velammal Institute of Technology is a private college affiliated to Anna University and is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is AICTE approved and has been accredited by NAAC ‘A’ grade. It has been ranked 93 for engineering by Times 2019.

I have friends in other Thapar and NIT Delhi so I am the right person to answer your question. Based on their experiences, these are the key points of differences I derived
- NIT Delhi has a better location because it is in Delhi.
- Thapar has a better faculty pool and lab facilities than both NIT Delhi and NSIT.
- Thapar also has an active research culture so if you are a research enthusiast, Thapar is a better option for you.
- In terms of tag and brand name, NIT Delhi has the upper hand. Thapar University also has a good reputation but mainly in North India.
- NIT Delhi charges much less fees than DTU and NSIT so it’s the clear winner in this aspect.
- Infrastructure-wise, Thapar University tends to serve better.

Which should I choose, EEE in NIT Surathkal, ECE in IIIT Bangalore, or CS in RVC?
If you are given these options, your rank in JEE Mains must be near 10k, and that in KCET >= 100. I was faced with similar choices, so I am listing down the pros and cons of each option-
- RVC- If you are a Bangalorean and don’t wish to go to a hostel, RVC is the ideal choice. You’ll be getting CSE, which is great. The faculty at RVC is good. It offers an indoor basketball court. Your peers would’ve aced their KCET. But the minus point is that there is a management quota.
- IIIT Bangalore-T his is a great choice for you even if you are interested in CSE. The curriculum for ECE and CSE is mostly common for the first two years. Both branches study common topics like programming and computer architecture. Even a branch change is possible by getting on the Dean’s Merit List. Branch change is purely merit based.
- NIT Surathkal- EEE from NITK is a great option. However, if you are interested in CS/IT, getting a branch change isn’t easy. Vacancy is low during branch change and its rules are quite rigid-
- The current branch’s strength must not decrease by more than 10%.
- The future branch’s strength must not increase by more than 10%.
- Category-wise allotment of seats is done, similar to JoSAA
If you are planning for an M.Tech in near future, choose IIITB. The iMtech will allow you to complete two degrees in five years, and you won’t be stressed over GATE exams. IIIT Bangalore offers the best placements. This is because Bangalore is the center of major IT and Electronics brands.
I chose iMtech at IIIT Bangalore because of these reasons. You must choose the option that best suits your personal preferences. All the three institutions are well renowned.
Should I join NIT Uttrakhand, IIIT Ranchi or Thapar University for CSE?
For CSE, NIT Uttarakhand is a decent option. Given below is a brief review of NIT Uttarakhand.
Criticism:
- NIT Uttarakhand is in a remote place, away from the city. So if you are not used to living an isolated life, it will be difficult for you to adjust. Even traveling to Srinagar Garhwal will be difficult.
- The infrastructure of the college is not that great to appease you. It will feel dismaying. It is improving gradually.
Brownie Points:
- NIT is a brand. It has special importance and value to the nation. The CSE branch is always advancing and can add special talents to the industry. In this institute too, there are many talented students.
- The faculty of the institute is from renowned institutes like IITs/NITs. The professors are highly qualified and teach students proficiently on-line with the GATE syllabus.
- Students are from diverse backgrounds. They are not just from Uttarakhand, but also all other states.
- The placements of the CSE branch are elevating every year. Different recruiters give different offers to students. The recent placement statistics of the institute is as follows.

No matter how much the infrastructure lacks, the students get rewarded in the future if they work hard. Currently, IIIT Ranchi and Thapar may have better infrastructure or even placement records, but NIT Uttarakhand is improving with time and will definitely improve a lot in coming years.

- The highest package for MITS stands at 11 lakh p.a. while for IET DAVV, it stands at 30 lakh p.a. which is quite big a difference.
Campus
- IET DAVV stands apart when it comes to the campus environment. The College conducts so many events, namely - Engineer’s Day, Welcome Party, Invento, etc.
- If you want to pursue higher studies, Indore is a better option than Gwalior as it has various coaching institutes.
- IET DAVV is better than MITS in terms of extracurricular activities, events as well as college life.
Curriculum:
- One should not worry much about the rules and regulations if you are in IET DAVV, provided you maintain the minimum amount of attendance required.
- IET DAVV is well known and renowned for its annual cultural fest, Aakshank. Many celebrities like Kailash Kher, Papon, DJ Willy, etc., have visited over the past years whereas

Which is the best IIT Tirupati CSE or VIT Vellore CSE??
VIT Vellore CSE will be better than IIT Tirupati CSE. It follows an industry-relevant curriculum which is updated regularly. The specializations offered for CSE are as per the latest industry trends and demand. VIT Vellore placements are excellent for CSE. Each year around 99% of students get placed from the branch. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 6-7 LPA. Reputed companies such as Microsoft, Google, etc. recruit from the institute.

If you wish to pursue CS/IT areas then you can choose IIIT Vadodara. The curriculum there is best suited for your growth. The course curriculum of CS/IT at IIIT-V focuses more on practical knowledge and developing exceptional skills.

Which is better, IIT Hyderabad mechanical or NIT Trichy CS?
Whether IIT Hyderabad Mechanical or NIT Tricy CS is ‘better’ depends on multiple factors such as your inclinations and career prospects. In short, if you are passionate about Mechanical Engineering then IIT Hyderabad is the best option. The placement opportunities will be average but the scope of higher studies ad research is great here. On the other hand, if you are inclined towards CS, NIT Trichy is the destination for you.
Apart from the branch, there are various other factors like the kind of campus life you want and your interest in getting placed. If you are looking for a glamorous campus life, NIT Trichy will serve you better. NIT Trichy is known for its rich extracurricular culture and has a lot of well-established student clubs. It also has excellent infrastructure and a huge campus with enough space for all of them. Those interested in programming, robotics, etc can pursue their passion as there are many clubs for the same. Here. your branch rarely matters as you will be involved in similar activities as everyone.
There are some students who are driven by the monetary return they will be getting and getting placed is their ultimate goal. In that case, it is important to know that placements in mechanical will not be on par with CSE. NIT Trichy placements are excellent and there are almost 100% placements. So placements wise too, NIT Trichy is better than IIT Hyderabad.
Location-wise, IIT Hyderabad has a slight advantage over NIT Trichy. So both colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and your personal preference should be the ultimate driving factor.
In terms of both campus life and placements, I will rank NITT > IIT H irrespective of all other factors.
