IIT Patna is ranked among the top 10 institutes in India. The CSE department is renowned for its experienced faculty, rich alumni network, best placement support, and effective classes. The courses in the Computer Science and Electronics department include compilers, machine learning, computer learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and so on. Students are given both theoretical and practical knowledge. IIT Patna also has club support from the CSE field, namely NJGATH, and Robotics. The students can effectively explore their ideas in this respective field in an innovative way. The alumni network of the CSE department is fabulous, as they give much support to the students in their studies.
I have friends in other Thapar and NIT Delhi so I am the right person to answer your question. Based on their experiences, these are the key points of differences I derived
Overall, it's a matter of preferences!
IIEST Shibpur is known for its national importance and outstanding alumni network. Thapar Institute of engineering and technology is one of India’s leading private institutions with a NIRF ranking of 27 amongst top engineering colleges. Let us have a look at the difference between the two universities based on some important and relevant factors.
Admissions:
IIEST Shibpur- For BTech at IIEST Shibpur students are required to clear JEE mains and have a minimum of 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2, along with 30% in English. For the BTech program in CST, the JEE mains cut-off was at 9379 in 2019.
Thapar University- For CSE admissions at Thapar University, students must qualify JEE mains. The general rank cut-off was 915971 in 2019.
Fee Structure: Considering IIEST is a public university funded by the central government, the demanded fee structure is relatively low. Thapar University on the other hand is a private institution and therefore has a higher range of tuition fees.
The total annual fee for BTech sums up to 1.36 lakhs.
The total annual fee for BTech in CSE sums up 3.24 lakh.
Infrastructure: Being funded by the government, IIEST offers an updated experience in terms of technology but lacks modern infrastructure considering the college is nearly 160 years old. Thapar University is a private institution that has absolutely high-end and modern facilities all across its campus.

Thapar University-

The average salary offered is around 7 LPA.
Major recruiters of CSE students are Amazon, Microsoft, JP Morgan.
As for which institute to choose, you should decide that depending on your preferences and requirements.
If you are given these options, your rank in JEE Mains must be near 10k, and that in KCET >= 100. I was faced with similar choices, so I am listing down the pros and cons of each option-
If you are planning for an M.Tech in near future, choose IIITB. The iMtech will allow you to complete two degrees in five years, and you won’t be stressed over GATE exams. IIIT Bangalore offers the best placements. This is because Bangalore is the center of major IT and Electronics brands.
I chose iMtech at IIIT Bangalore because of these reasons. You must choose the option that best suits your personal preferences. All the three institutions are well renowned.
For CSE, NIT Uttarakhand is a decent option. Given below is a brief review of NIT Uttarakhand.

No matter how much the infrastructure lacks, the students get rewarded in the future if they work hard. Currently, IIIT Ranchi and Thapar may have better infrastructure or even placement records, but NIT Uttarakhand is improving with time and will definitely improve a lot in coming years.
For those who hold a keen interest in Computers and it’s overall understanding are highly suggested to opt for CSE while for those who are interested in an in-depth study of telecommunication can go for ET. ET at IET DAVV stands apart and is way better than CSE at MITS any day and the facts will tell you the same too.

Overall, it seems that IET DAVV stands as a clear winner but MITS has its advantages and offers good education.
VIT Vellore CSE will be better than IIT Tirupati CSE. It follows an industry-relevant curriculum which is updated regularly. The specializations offered for CSE are as per the latest industry trends and demand. VIT Vellore placements are excellent for CSE. Each year around 99% of students get placed from the branch. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 6-7 LPA. Reputed companies such as Microsoft, Google, etc. recruit from the institute.
You should choose the college and branch according to your interest.
If you wish to pursue CS/IT areas then you can choose IIIT Vadodara. The curriculum there is best suited for your growth. The course curriculum of CS/IT at IIIT-V focuses more on practical knowledge and developing exceptional skills.
Students are provided with two summer internship programs as a part of the college curriculum. The details of the same are available on the official college website. Even though the institute is quite new, the placement record for the institute is impressive. Here is a brief highlight of the recent placement drive at the institute.

The hostel is pleasant and the mess food is edible. If you consider pursuing CS/IT sectors then opting for IIIT would not make you regret your decision.
Whether IIT Hyderabad Mechanical or NIT Tricy CS is ‘better’ depends on multiple factors such as your inclinations and career prospects. In short, if you are passionate about Mechanical Engineering then IIT Hyderabad is the best option. The placement opportunities will be average but the scope of higher studies ad research is great here. On the other hand, if you are inclined towards CS, NIT Trichy is the destination for you.
Apart from the branch, there are various other factors like the kind of campus life you want and your interest in getting placed. If you are looking for a glamorous campus life, NIT Trichy will serve you better. NIT Trichy is known for its rich extracurricular culture and has a lot of well-established student clubs. It also has excellent infrastructure and a huge campus with enough space for all of them. Those interested in programming, robotics, etc can pursue their passion as there are many clubs for the same. Here. your branch rarely matters as you will be involved in similar activities as everyone.
There are some students who are driven by the monetary return they will be getting and getting placed is their ultimate goal. In that case, it is important to know that placements in mechanical will not be on par with CSE. NIT Trichy placements are excellent and there are almost 100% placements. So placements wise too, NIT Trichy is better than IIT Hyderabad.
Location-wise, IIT Hyderabad has a slight advantage over NIT Trichy. So both colleges have their own strengths and weaknesses and your personal preference should be the ultimate driving factor.
In terms of both campus life and placements, I will rank NITT > IIT H irrespective of all other factors.
