Is BITS Pilani very costly?
Yes, BITS Pilani is very costly and a student from a middle-class family may not afford the hefty fees here. The semester fee at BITS Pilani for integrated courses and higher degree courses is Rs 2,31,500 for the first and second semesters. This roughly amounts to double the fees of IITs.
However, when you become a part of the BITS family, you will realize that every penny you spent was worth it. BITS does not charge fees for themselves, rather the high fees are reflected in the top-notch infrastructure, lab facilities, and huge campuses. Moreover, they are not funded by the government so they have no option but to charge high fees to maintain their standards.
So if you failed to make it to the top IITs, go for BITS Pilani, it will not disappoint you. Just consider the high fees as a long-term investment that will fetch you good returns.
What package do IISER graduates get after a BS-MS?
IISERs are not established for just placement purposes rather the motto is to build the scientific aptitude among students so that they earn more from their skills and knowledge.
The curriculum at IISER has a strong base and you will eventually give up the idea of placements. This is why most students apply for Ph.D. after completing BS-MS from here. Ideally, you cannot compare IIT with IISER in terms of placements as most of the IT companies do not find IISERites to be worthful until they have acquired some skills of their own.
Do not apply here just for the sake of doing engineering as the level of competition is very high at IISER. You will be wasting 5 years if you do not want to pursue higher studies and looking just for placements.
Even if you look for job opportunities after BS-MS, you can take up jobs as biologists, chemists, mathematicians, physicists with a salary of around INR 50,000 per month.
Why is IIT BHU the worst IIT?
Calling IIT BHU, one of the oldest IITs, worst is outright defamation and its alumni won’t tolerate it. I suggest you research its Campus life and facilities, quality of education, hostel facilities, placements, and research culture. Only after proper research will you realize that the claim you made is false and the word worst does not sit with the legacy IIT BHU has. In fact, it has worked hard to earn the reputation and the IIT tag it has today.

Why is IIT-BHU the worst IIT?
You can decide if IIT BHU is really the worst IIT after going through my answer. I have tried my best to state all fair points and stay unbiased as much as possible.
- Generally, all IITs suffer from a shortage of faculties whereas IIT BHU has a sufficient number of experienced faculty members.
- The professors are high quality and you cannot doubt the parity of teaching here. The recruitment style is similar in all IITs so the faculty pool is similarly skilled.
- IIT BHU has student-run clubs that provide complete exposure to management and students learn to deal with serious situations and be responsible.
- The course structure of IIT BHU is relatively flexible giving students freedom to explore their interests and not spend time just mugging concepts. Many IITs have very rigid curricula limiting the students' exposure.
- IIT BHU no doubt is lacking in terms of infrastructure and facilities but for someone who focuses on the bigger picture, this might not seem to bug a factor to consider. Additionally, there have

IIT BHU is great in all aspects and its alumni are successfully working in big companies. This alone is enough to negate the point that IIT BHU is the worst IIT.
Is Delhi University overrated??
DU indeed is a spectacular university and is rightfully famous for its infrastructure, curriculum, and everything in general. But several things are a bit overrated like:
- Faculty: Despite many brilliant professors here, the faculty members are not much interested in teaching. Either they don’t have enough knowledge or don’t want to teach. That’s why students at DU have to resort to self-study.
- Infrastructure: The infrastructure of most of the colleges at DU is terrible. The buildings are in bad condition. The computer facilities are very lacking and Wi-Fi does not work in many places. Although some colleges are well-equipped.
- Hostels: The hostels of the colleges at DU have unreasonable rules that you will have to follow. One of them is the 7:30 pm rule. They are not allowed to install coolers even during days of extreme heat.
- Curriculum: The curriculum is completely theory-based and does not include much practical knowledge. Just after a few days of rote learning, you will be able to score fairly well.
- Fest: The fest culture is all a bit too overrated. There is too much glamour and a waste of time.
- Job opportunities: Students at DU face major challenges when it comes to placements. This is because reputed firms only visit top colleges like St. Stephens' and SRCC making it difficult for an average student. You need to have brilliant scores with a record of extracurricular activities to get placed. Or you have to opt for higher studies.
Despite its flaws, Delhi University is indeed one of a kind. The crowd here is versatile and you get to meet people from everywhere. The variety of extracurricular activities, clubs, and societies of DU will surely make your stay here. The colleges at DU have a lot to give, just be with the right people.
Why is IGNOUs paper checking so poor? Are they just playing with the students' futures?
Yes. The IGNOU marking system is very poor, and you must have a lot of patience if you are pursuing any degree from IGNOU. If you fail to submit your assignment grades, your results will be delayed for several months.
IGNOU is certainly playing with students' careers because they are so unconcerned about their grades and future. They are unconcerned about how and what is written on the answer sheets. They only postpone things and do not address the issue.
Should I go to SPJIMR or SP Jain Global?
SPJIMR vs SP Jain Global (School of Global Management) — two different institutions despite the similar name:
SPJIMR (S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai):
- one of India's top B-schools (NIRF top 10, FT ranked). 2-year PGDM program
- excellent for domestic Indian market careers — consulting, finance, marketing
- strong industry connections in India, particularly Mumbai's corporate ecosystem
- admission via GMAT/CAT + interviews
- avg package ~Rs.25-30 LPA
SP Jain School of Global Management:
- completely different institution (despite similar name). private business school with campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney
- tri-city program (study in 3 cities) is unique. targets global careers
- not a traditional Indian B-school. different pedagogy and approach
- better for students who genuinely want international careers
verdict: for Indian corporate career — SPJIMR is significantly more established and better-branded. for international careers (Middle East, Singapore) — SP Jain Global has a unique niche. don't confuse the two: they are entirely different institutions.
How much marks should I score in the AIIMS entrance exam to secure an MBBS seat in AIIMS Delhi??
AIIMS Delhi no longer has a separate entrance exam — it joined the NEET system in 2020. so admission to AIIMS Delhi is through NEET UG marks only.
to get AIIMS Delhi (MBBS), you need to be among the top ~50-100 NEET rankers nationally (general category). in practice that means:
- NEET score: 715-720 out of 720 (general category, recent trends)
- NEET rank: approximately AIR 1-100 for general category
- AIIMS Delhi closing rank for general typically falls between rank 1-50
this is the most competitive MBBS seat in India. getting even 700 in NEET would not guarantee AIIMS Delhi for general category.
for the newer AIIMS institutions (AIIMS Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswar, etc.):
- NEET rank ~100-1000 for general category gets you into one of these
- these are also excellent government medical colleges, world-class in terms of government funding
focus on maximizing your NEET score. 700+ keeps your options open for all AIIMS campuses.
Is 28 too old for IIM?
No, age is not the limit when considering an MBA from IIMs. In fact, the peer group comprises students of diverse age brackets and backgrounds.
One of my friends age 26 recently got admission to IIM Bangalore. He notice most of his batchmates were young and fresh from college but the overall learning experience was very empowering and diverse. While others might question your decision and try to demotivate you, remember only you know your real worth. Don’t let others' opinions weigh you down and give up something you dreamed of.
My cousin completed his engineering, went to MIT, and even has his own start-up, but is currently pursuing PGPM in IIM Bangalore. This clearly proves that there is no right time or age for an MBA. Most importantly, if the admission committee of IIMs deems you suitable for an MBA, then your age should be your last concern.
