One of my friends studied aerospace engineering at Amity University, so let me share his experiences about the college and also the true facts about Amity University.

Amity University offers two programs in Aerospace - BTech in Aerospace Engineering and a Dual degree program ( Integrated BTech + MTech).

• There are very few experienced faculty members in both of these departments. They are not very active and supportive.
• The course curriculum is well designed, however, the teaching methodology is not very impressive.
• The department is very strict about the attendance of students. The students need to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance. The department debarred the students who fail to attain 75% attendance in any subject.
• The aerospace department is separated from the Amity School of Engineering and technology and thus the students miss out on most of the events and programs.
• The student crowd is huge at Amity. There are various spots of the student crowd such as Domino, CCD, Small market, Salons, etc. huge events are being organized for students.

The campus placement is not good in the aerospace department. Either you will be selected in Defence or any IT company. There are no internship opportunities available. You will hardly get a package ranging from INR 4-5 LPA. The course fee is also high in respect to the placement given. The course curriculum is mainly theoretical and very less practical.

You should try for another better college for doing Aerospace rather than in Amity.

All of these colleges, IIIT Allahabad, NIT Surathkal, and IIT Hyderabad are one of the prestigious colleges in India for Engineering. IIIT Allahabad, NIT Surathkal, and IIT Hyderabad are ranked 103, 13, and 8 for engineering by NIRF.

Admission- The selection for IIIT Allahabad and NIT Surathkal is through JEE Main, while IIT Hyderabad takes admission through JEE Advanced.

Fees:

The fees for the courses are as follows.

• IIIT Allahabad B.Tech IT – 5.34 Lakhs

• NIT Surathkal B.Tech IT – 5.39 Lakhs

• IIT Hyderabad B.Tech CSE – 8.64 Lakhs

• IIIT Allahabad B.Tech+M.Tech. IT – 4.54 Lakhs

Now, as per the question, IIIT Allahabad is a good college and offers a decent BTech+MTech program but it would be better to first complete the B.Tech. degree and then pursue M.Tech.

Placements:

B.Tech. IT in IIIT Allahabad- This college provides a bit more industrial exposure than other mentioned colleges.

• The highest package offered was 36 LPA with an average package of 12.93 LPA.

• The top recruiters being Microsoft, Linkedin, Zomato, and Walmart Labs.

IT in NIT Surathkal- In Spite of being one of the older NITs, Surathkal has been consistent in their placement records.

• The highest package bagged by the students was 39 LPA and an average package of 8 LPA in 2019.

• Some of the recruiters are Amazon, CITI Bank, Microsoft, Myntra.

CSE in IIT Hyderabad -

• The highest package bagged by the students in 2019 was 12.93 LPA and the average package was 12 LPA.

• Top recruiters are Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Jaguar, Bajaj Auto & TSMC.

B.Tech+M.Tech IT in IIIT Allahabad- After completing M.Tech. the placement demand increases automatically. The highest package offered was 43 LPA and the average package was around 10.40 LPA.

Some key facts one should know about those three colleges.

IIIT Allahabad: If one is interested in coding, then IIITA is the right place to be in. IIITA has a legacy of good coder alumni and new batches seem to be excelling this skill. The campus is designed to be a fully residential one.

NIT Surathkal: It consists of 11 support centers and 14 academic departments. NITK Surathkal is ranked 6th among the country's top engineering colleges by Outlook India.

IIT Hyderabad: In the past few years, this institute has established strong ties with various global organizations. IIT Hyderabad has a strong bond with Japanese universities. It has also signed Mou. with the University of Pittsburgh and Kaohsiung Medical University for their student exchange programs.

Go through the facts mentioned above and decide which course and institute will be better for you.

IIIT Dharwad is a newly established institute and it will be better not to make high expectations from this institute yet. It is running as a temporary campus at IT Park. Still, things have got little changes as it has permanent faculty, sports ground, labs infrastructure, as it got the mentor-like IIIT Bangalore.

You must go for round 2 without any doubt. Because this institute is running in a provisional campus in a free building and the college administration does not have a single penny to pay rent or take a permanent campus. Everything is going on charity in this institute.

Infrastructures, lab facilities, hostels, mess, administration, and most importantly, the placement is lagging; in short, all these are very poor.

Students get extremely worst treatment here, specifically in the hostels, as it has no facilities and the mess is completely pathetic.

Thus, it is requested not to join this institute, as the college environment is impoverished than any other private institute. College administration is totally frustrated and not even able to run the central Government institute.

It is better to select some other private college rather than this IIIT. However, attendance here is very reluctant, which is 85%, but college administration considers the below percentage if the student gives them any excuses.

Both Thapar University and Manipal University are renowned private universities of India in engineering. Which makes it difficult to choose one institute over the other.

The below-mentioned details will give you a clearer picture of B.Tech in computer science programs at both universities.

B.Tech in Computer Science at Thapar University allows the students to gain extensive knowledge through research-driven training in major research areas of computer science.

• The average placement rate of Thapar is over 80%, 200+ recruiting companies visit the campus each year.
• Over 150+ students get an opportunity of interning and working with top companies like IBM, Samsung, NVIDIA, DeShaw, Adobe.
• With 23 core computer labs, a gaming and animation lab, a motion capture lab, and over 10 research and industrial project labs, Thapar University is incredibly popular worldwide for its varied research avenues, well-trained faculty, and innovation.

B.Tech in Computer Science at Manipur University has an average placement rate of 75%, students get placed at major companies like Google, Amazon, Oracle, etc. The student exchange program with universities like Hochschule Bremen, Queensland University of Technology, provides exposure to the students.

Both colleges have their own perks. You should choose the university that is best suited for you.

Tezpur University is a great option for CSE. In North-East India, it can be ranked right after IITG. Here are some highlights of the institute. 

• There are excellent faculty members for CSE. Mostly graduates from top institutes and some have foreign education. They are involved in research that gives an opportunity to all the students to move ahead in research. 
• Also, it is a research-focused department where research happens at a large scale and on different topics. This prepares students for the master's degree with the complete knowledge of their undergraduate degree along with hands-on experience. 
• Due to the excellence in studies for B.Tech the alumni are spread all over the world working in elite companies and are very prestigious professionals. 
• The placements are decent. Many companies like TCS, Amazon, Airtel and many others usually come for recruiting students. 

Tezpur University is one of the best universities for B.Tech CSE. Given the option, you should go for it.
