• Both universities have a robust placement record, and students receive attractive salary packages from top recruiters in India and abroad. They have a dedicated placement cell that provides career guidance and job opportunities to students.
• Both universities have a student-friendly fee structure, and the admission process is relatively hassle-free. They offer scholarships and financial aid to deserving students based on merit and need.

Presidency University:

• Presidency University is known for its strict disciplinary rules and regulations that students need to adhere to. The institute has a classroom-centric approach to learning and does not offer any holidays before exams.
• Presidency University has a limited focus on extracurricular activities, and only a few students get the opportunity to participate in sports events. The fee submission process is also hectic, with only a few counters available.
• Presidency University has a mandatory attendance policy that students need to maintain, failing which they may face consequences.
• Despite these limitations, Presidency University has a decent academic background and a strong and cooperative faculty team. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields such as engineering, management, humanities, and law.
• However, if you are a normal-category student looking for a holistic and comprehensive education with a better balance of academics and extracurricular activities, CMR University and Christ University can be better choices.

In conclusion, choosing the right university or institute can make a significant impact on your career and personal growth. It's important to evaluate various factors such as academic programs, faculty, campus culture, extracurricular activities, placements, and fees before making a decision. CMR University and Christ University are known for their well-rounded approach to education, whereas Presidency University may be more suited for students who can cope with strict rules and regulations.

One of my close friends is pursuing EXE from IIIT Hyderabad and was all praise for the institute. She had come with zero expectations and the institute as well as the branch impressed her. 

• ECE is a whole different story from CSE wherein you need fundamental knowledge about concepts and coding skills alone are not enough.
• The faculty pool comprises highly qualified professors who are very passionate about research and adopting modern pedagogy.
• IIIT Hyderabad has the best lab facilities and modern instruments. Although there is no mechanical department, IIIT is well known for its strong focus on Robotics.
• IIIT Hyderabad placements are excellent and this year, the highest salary increased by 32% and was recorded at INR 74 LPA. B.Tech CSE average salary stood at INR 32 LPA and major recruiters included Bloomberg, Code Nation, Deloitte, Facebook, Google, HSBC, Indeed, etc

NIT Trichy has an advantage of a bigger campus and more experienced faculty.  So, NIT Trichy is a good choice if you want a great campus life along with studies but if you want to focus on academics only then IIIT Hyderabad is the place for you.

If I was to rank the above colleges, then the order would have been

1. BITS Goa(CSE)
2. DTU(CSE) 
3. BITS Hyderabad (CSE) 
4. NIT Surathkal(CSE) 
5. NIT Trichy(CSE)
6. IIIT Allahabad (IT)
7. NIT Surathkal(IT)
8. DTU(IT) 

Now, I am sure you would want justification for the above ranking so here it is

•  BITS Goa has the advantages of its Bits tag, excellent coding culture, has developed some great coders from the last 2-3 years, splendid location and amazing campus life.
• DTU is one of the best colleges in India with a decent coding culture and has the advantage of being located in the capital. Additionally, it has the advantage of an extensive alumni pool, location in the national capital, and a good alumni base
• BITS Hyderabad is almost similar to BITS Goa in all aspects as the placements conducted are centralized 
• NIT Surathkal and Trichy are the oldest and best NITs of India offering great placements, especially for the CSE branch.
• As far as the IT field is concerned, IIIT Allahabad is superior to all NITs except NIT Warangal, Surathkal, and Trichy.

Ultimately, the final decision is based on various parameters and personal preferences should be given due consideration.

If you're looking for a top engineering college in India, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy is a great option to consider, better than IIT Dhanbad. Here are some reasons why:

• CS and other branches: NIT Trichy is known for its strong programs in computer science (CS) and other engineering branches. This means you can expect a high quality of education in these fields.
• Excellent placements: NIT Trichy has a great track record when it comes to placements. This means that many students who graduate from NIT Trichy can secure well-paying jobs in top companies.
• World-class infrastructure: NIT Trichy has invested in top-notch infrastructure to support student learning. This includes modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, and other facilities.
• Experienced teachers: The faculty at NIT Trichy are highly experienced and knowledgeable. They are committed to providing students with a high-quality education and helping them succeed.
• The best environment for teaching and learning: NIT Trichy offers a supportive and collaborative learning environment, which can be beneficial for student success. Additionally, the college offers a range of extracurricular activities and student clubs to help students develop new skills and interests.

It's worth noting that while a college's reputation can be important, it's not the only factor to consider when choosing a college. It's important to also consider your own needs and preferences, such as location, campus culture, and program offerings. However, if you're looking for a strong engineering program with a good track record of placements and top-notch facilities, NIT Trichy is a college to consider.

There are two options available to you. Choose between IIIT Jabalpur and NIT Raipur for CSE.

Why choose NIT Raipur?

• As of now, the placement scenario is favorable.
• Seniors would provide you with sound advice.
• There is a greater emphasis on practical hands-on experience among peers.
• The highest salary package offered to three students was 32.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 6 LPA.
• You'd almost certainly get a job.

NIT Raipur, why not?

• If you want to pursue higher education, NIT Raipur is a no-go.
• There are few opportunities for research.
• The brand name NIT does not help with the GRE.
• Higher education is entirely theoretical. Peers get together and must put in extra effort to gain hands-on experience.
• The syllabus is not focused on the current business world.

Why choose IIIT Jabalpur?

• It would teach you CSE from the first year, unlike other NITs, which require you to study common subjects like chemical, civil, and mechanical engineering.
• The placement scenario is nearly identical to that of NIT Raipur. However, it will improve as IIIT Jabalpur improves.
• There will be far more research opportunities than at NIT Raipur.
• The brand name may be beneficial for the GRE.
• The IIIT experience is more enriching than the NIT experience.
• IIIT Jabalpur has a competitive coding culture.

Why not IIIT Jamshedpur?

• The students have stern words for IIIT Jabalpur.
• The situation is similar at NIT Raipur but much more serious.
• Jabalpur is not a pleasant city to visit.
• It is in the lower echelons of IIITs that Extra-curricular activities are not spectacular.

The choice of the branch is more important than choosing the institute because it determines and shapes your career. If you are interested in working in a PSU or have an interest in Electronics, choose ECE but if you have no such inclinations choose CS, the most diverse field. There are two main differences between IIITs and NITs

• IIITs are relatively new and may not have a very extensive alumni network while NITs are aged old and have an elaborate network.
• NITs provide diverse specialization in various fields while IIITs only focus on Computer Science education. 

Based on the placement scenario and the academics, here is the preference order I would suggest you follow while making your choice

NIT Jalandhar CSE>IIIT Jabalpur CSE>NIT Raipur CSE>NIT Kurukshetra ECE>NIT Hamirpur ECE> NIT Jamshedpur ECE

It's important to note that this preference order is not based on any official data and is based on my own opinion only.

If you look beyond the IIT tag lens, you will realize NIT Trichy is actually a great institute with excellent opportunities. The institute does well in providing both placement and higher education opportunities. Some other things that make it a good choice are 

• Fests like Pragyan and Festember held at a huge scale
• An Excellent alumni connect
• A talented student body
• Octa the computer lab
• Sports facilities 
• A good brand name 

NIT Trichy might not have the IIT tag but it certainly has something that even the new IITs do not, a well organized and student-friendly management!
