Is it worth doing an B.Sc at LPU if my main goal is to land a high-paying job?

!

To address your question about "qualifying" for jobs, it really depends on the firm. Some companies explicitly look for degrees from IITs, IIMs, and similar institutions.

However, your question seems more general. You can logically consider a related question: “Do LPU graduates typically earn as much as IIT/IIM graduates?”

The short answer is NO.

LPU has been around for a while, and many batches of hundreds or thousands of students are already in the job market. If LPU graduates were consistently earning high salaries, there would be plenty of evidence, and word would have spread.

Since you're asking this, it’s safe to assume you haven't encountered many examples of that. So, it’s reasonable to conclude that it’s not generally true. There can always be exceptions, but those are usually due to the individual rather than the college.

On a broader note, while IITs and IIMs provide more opportunities for high-paying jobs, it doesn’t mean that other colleges don’t offer those chances. Ultimately, your skills and the value you bring to an organization determine your salary. An exceptionally skilled high-school dropout who generates millions for a company CAN earn more!

I got selection for B.Sc in LPU but the fees is fairly high. I will have to take an education loan for it. Is it worth the entire effort and money?

Hey there!! No! It won’t be difficult at all to secure a study loan for LPU. There are two bank branches within the university—SBI and OBC—and many other banks that provide loans to students studying at LPU. A separate cell is available to assist you with the loan process, and this is clearly mentioned in the prospectus too. The university hosts different bank branches on campus, including:

  • State Bank of India
  • Punjab National Bank
  • Oriental Bank of Commerce
  • Karur Vysya Bank
  • ICICI Bank

Here are some key factors banks consider when evaluating your student loan application:

  • Amount to be borrowed vs Total cost of education
  • Degree and University of choice
  • Future employment opportunities
  • Credit history of student and guarantor
  • Collateral

To start the loan process, you first need a Loan letter from the university to apply at the bank.

Which is a better career, LPU B.Sc or a SSC level government job?

B
BumblingBrute Posted On : April 16th, 2026

I’ve been studying at LPU for my B.Sc in Nutrition and Dietetics, and I think it’s a fantastic option compared to a SSC level government job. The hands-on approach with practical classes and internships really prepares us for the workforce. The campus is buzzing with cultural events and a diverse student body, which makes it a great place to grow personally and professionally.

Also, after scoring well in the LPUNEST exam, my fees were reduced, which helped a lot. If you’re looking for an engaging career path, LPU is the way to go!

Is it worth doing a B.Sc Forensic Sciences from LPU or not? What are its placement records and whats your experience with this college so far

I’m currently pursuing a B.Sc in Forensic Sciences at LPU, and I’d say it’s definitely worth it! The curriculum is aligned with UGC guidelines, and the faculty is really supportive. Most of my professors have PhDs, which adds a lot of value to our learning. The practical components, especially in Crime Scene Investigation, are super hands-on. Plus, the placement records are impressive—students get to join placement classes from the 4th semester, and I’ve heard of packages ranging from 7 lakhs to even 1 crore! Overall, my experience has been positive, with a vibrant campus life and various extracurricular activities.

Hi, As an alumnus of LPU, I can definitely help with this! Students can check their results for the end-of-term exams online. After all the tests, students typically receive their TGPA and final grades within two to three weeks.

I used to check my results using UMS.

I’m currently pursuing a B.Sc in Nutrition & Dietetics at LPU, and honestly, it’s been a great experience so far! The curriculum is really comprehensive, covering everything we need to know. Plus, the practical classes and internship opportunities are super helpful for applying what we learn in real-world scenarios. The tuition is around 3 - 4 lakhs for the whole program, but I managed to get a scholarship through the LPUNEST exam, which has reduced my fees significantly. Overall, I feel like I’m getting a solid education, and I can see good placement opportunities ahead!

What is the in hand salary of students who graduated from B.Sc LPU?

C
ChromaticCavalry Posted On : April 15th, 2026

In India, no company is paying 1 Crore CTC to freshers—at least not yet. Currently, the maximum CTC for freshers is around 35–45 LPA. Even in IITs, the 1 Crore CTC offers are typically for positions in the US, Singapore, Japan, etc.

Regarding placements at LPU, things are improving rapidly. In recent batches, the highest package offered was 6 LPA, then it jumped to 12 LPA, and now it's around 15 LPA. While such high-paying companies are few, decent placements are still available if you don’t land a role with those big names. If campus drives don’t work out, off-campus opportunities are always an option, and there’s definitely some scope there.

Also, don’t stress too much about initial packages. Your starting salary won’t define your earnings after five years of experience. Many have started with packages around 4 LPA and jumped to 18 LPA in just two years. One individual started at 3 LPA and is now working in a European country at 30 LPA (when converted to INR).

Once you decide where to study, focus on gaining as much experience as possible and don’t get too caught up in these placement packages!

Which one should I opt for LPU B.Sc Forensic Sciences or Parul University B.Sc Forensic Sciences

A
AnalogAce Posted On : April 15th, 2026

LPU and Parul University both offer B.Sc in Forensic Sciences, but LPU seems to have a stronger edge in placement opportunities and career outcomes. LPU boasts an impressive average package ranging from 7 lakhs to 1 crore, with major companies like Microsoft and Amazon actively recruiting students, while Parul offers an average package of 20-25 lakhs. LPU also provides extensive placement training starting from the second semester, ensuring students are well-prepared for interviews. If you're looking for better job prospects and a robust support system, I'd suggest LPU is the way to go. However, if you prefer a more diverse campus life and extracurricular activities, Parul University could be a good fit.
