What is the fee structure of Techno India University for B.Tech?
The B.Tech program at Techno India University is for 4 years (8 semesters). The different specializations offered are Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Electronicsand Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
The fee structure is the same in every specialization of B.Tech. It is around Rs. 45,000 per semester. This includes Rs. 43,800 as semester fees and Rs. 1,200 as exam fees.
At the time of admission, the fees comprise of:
- Tuition fees
- One time admission fees
- Library fees
- Student welfare fees
Hence, the total fees is Rs. 3,60,000 for the entire course. It can be divided into Rs. 3,50,400 as the semester fees + Rs. 9,600 as the exam fee.
The hostel fees is around Rs. 75,000 for both males and females. The rooms are available on a twin sharing basis.
The scholarship scheme is available for meritorious, backward and economically weaker students.
Also, the University helps students in getting education loans from banks at low-interest rates.
Apart from this, the state government also provides scholarships on the basis of qualifying marks.
How can I score more than 90% for a B.Tech in JNTUH?
I will shed some light on the university exams situation at JNTUH. It's almost impossible to score good marks here because irrespective of what you write the correction staff simply gives you zero. They don't care what you have written and when you write the same answers in your supplementary exams, you end up getting passed. This is the reality here where the toppers fail in exams while the failures top.
If your aim is to get 90% here, I will suggest you have a change of mind. Stop focusing on mere percentages and rather focus on gathering as much knowledge and skills as you can. Eventually, recruiters don't consider your grades but your knowledge and performance in the interview. At JNTUH, you get marks only if you write the exact words from the textbook even if it means you don't understand a single word. I will mention a few simple tips that will help you score decent marks here:
- Always write the answer in points; each point comprising 2-3 lines. A long answer should have at least 10-15 such points.
- Underline the keywords in every point and highlight the main points.
- Make sure your answer sheet appears organized. Use margins, draw a line after each answer, highlight the formulae, etc
- Presentation is very important so dont strike off the answers as you may end up losing more marks.
- Write the long answers carrying 10 marks in 4 pages, short answers carrying 3 marks in 15 lines, and the 2 marks answers in 6 to 7 lines.
These tips will help you survive at JNTUH by getting decent marks but won't help you in increasing your knowledge which is very important once you leave college. So work on that as well!
What is the difference between EEE, EnI and ECE at BITS, Pilani?
BITS Pilani does not offer an Electronics and Communication Engineering Program. When comes to ENL and EEE, there are some key points you should keep in mind as an applicant, which are listed below
Opportunities – In the current scenario, EEE opens up more opportunities than ENL. For Instance, the Indian Engineering Examination is only applicable to students from ECE and EEE
Campus – BITS Pilani is far better than BITS Hyderabad as they have well-equipped lab and infrastructure
Placement – The three batches can sit for the placement, but the companies give more weight to Communication and Digital Signal Processing
So, it is better to choose EEE than ENL at BITS Pilani.
Should I Join Thapar University (CSE) or take a drop to study CSE (B Tech) at IIT or BITS Pilani ?
My brother completed his CSE at Thapar University. He was also planning to take a drop initially. But after doing a lot of research and consulting others, he decided to go to Thapar University. It is a prestigious and well-reputed institution.
My brother felt he couldn’t handle the pressure of entrances and preparation any longer. Besides, the placements at Thapar University are at par with other top institutions like PEC and ISM Dhanbad. Even the education system and reputation of Thapar University are good.
According to my brother, if you have the courage and determination, you can take a drop and try for the IITs or BITS Pilani. But as far as Thapar University is concerned, it has a good infrastructure, good facilities, and amazing seniors. It is better than most NITs (barring a few) and also has a strong alumni network. Therefore, you won’t regret joining Thapar University for your CSE.
What is the process of getting an admission at IIIT Bangalore for a B.Tech?
In order to join the iM.Tech course at IIIT Bangalore, you need to clear JEE Mains with around 8000 rank. After attaining this rank, visit the IIITB website and apply for an iM.Tech in CS/EC. You’ll receive an offer letter after which you can join this college.
The college does not follow any reservation criteria for its admissions. So with a decent rank in JEE Mains, you’ll get admission to the integrated program. The faculty is top-notch, with educators having studied at prestigious colleges like CMU, Stanford, University of Waterloo, etc. You’ll be taught an updated curriculum, and the studies will be industry relevant.
This is how you can get admission into IIIT Bangalore for your iM.Tech. The college does not offer a B.Tech degree.
How is IIT Mandi CS in terms of campus, placement and college life?
The college life at IIT Mandi is very poor because of the remote location. You will not be able to experience urban college life. The branches are not at par with the Mechanical and Electrical branches of IIT Indore and Jodhpur.
CS at IIT Mandi is decent though. Despite being new, IIT-Mandi has recorded an increase in placement over the past five years. Amazon, Microsoft, Codenation, DE Shaw, Adobe, SalesForce etc are few recruiters that offered decent packages.
Is it a good choice to prefer IIT Delhi textile over IIIT Delhi CSE, considering the fact that branch change is quite hard in IITD?
IIT Delhi has a much greater brand value as compared to IIIT Delhi. IIT D is superior in many aspects, one of which is campus life.
I have many friends in IITD Textile. They bagged foreign internships in the IT sector during their second year.
The coursework for Textile is very manageable. You’ll get ample time to practice coding on your own. Don’t worry about branch change. Even for a career in CS/IT, self-practice will get you through. Also, opt for the open electives offered at IIT Delhi. You’ll ace CS/IT placement tests, and secure a good job.
Thus, I would recommend you choose IIT Delhi Textile over IIIT Delhi CSE.
How is Hindustan University for aerospace engineering?
One of my friends studies at Hindustan University. So, I know a little bit about the institute.
Hindustan University is recognized as a great platform for Aerospace Engineering. But the institute owes its reputation to the students who go out of their way to excel in academics without much help from the institute.
According to my friend’s experience, the institute does not offer support of any kind, be it lab equipment, leniency in attendance, or time.
- The institute charges high fines for low attendance.
- It also has a dress code for the laboratory which is quite uncomfortable. According to authority, it is for the protection of the students. However, there are either computer-related laboratory works or lectures, so there is actually no need for uncomfortable uniforms.
- Also, students are not allowed to use most of the equipment in the laboratory. According to authorities, it could be potentially dangerous.
Overall, at Hindustan University you won’t have many facilities, placement offers, or any kind of support. So, it would be better to opt for other options.
How is Thapar University for CSE?
Thapar University offers BE in Computer Engineering (COE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE). According to some of my friends studying there, COE is a better course than CSE. So, I would be sharing some facts about COE, which might be helpful for you.
- The highest package a COE student has received until this point ranged at 39 LPA.
- The average package stood at around 10 to 11 LPA.
- However, you have to master the course and the technical domains that you are pursuing, without which you cannot secure good placement offers.
- In a nutshell, the average salary package in every department is around INR 6 LPA - INR 7 LPA. So for COE, it is better.
- You will sit in the placement drive alongside the 4th year students.
- If you can ace the interview session, even if the package is slightly lower than usual, then you will have the open option to secure a good position later in your career.

Having said that, the placement percentage at Thapar University usually ranges up to 100% for the COE department. That means, the placement offer is not a very big issue when considered separately. However, in terms of the package, the offer ranging from INR 14 LPA to INR 15 LPA is extremely difficult. Most essentially, you will have to master the technical domain.
What are the placements for a B.Tech student at IIT Kanpur?
Although IIT Kanpur does not release branch-wise or course-wise placements, someone filled an RTI or Right to Information and IIT Kanpur replied to it.
