Does all the AIIMS have the same freedom environment like bringing anyone to their rooms no hostel timings or is it only for the AIIMS Delhi?

SR
Sejuti Roy Posted On : September 24th, 2021
Studied MBBS from AIIMS Bhubaneshwar (2021)

In AIIMS Bhopal, the hostel deadline for girls is 10 pm and for boys, there are no timings. Even for the girls, the library is open till 2 AM. There are no strict timings for both the girls and boys and they can stay out after 10 pm also. Many students do that.

From the third year, these timings and rules are even more relaxed. Until the third year, a student can have minor arguments with the warden or the guard but there will be no major issues or problems. For events also, there is no one to watch you. With the help of the student union, no one interferes in the college fests or events. They don’t keep a student under eye for 24*7 and students can be around in the hostel campus these times as late as 4 am also.

These rules are relaxed after the first year as earlier the deadline was off till 9 pm for girls. The rule of boys could not enter girls hostels and vice versa still pertains. The students can visit the PG and intern hostels at any time.

Does all the AIIMS have the same freedom environment like bringing anyone to their rooms, no hostel timings, or is it only for the AIIMS, Delhi?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : December 26th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

AIIMS all over India have some of the best hostels, but none can compare with the facilities at AIIMS Delhi hostels. I completed my MBBS from AIIMS Patna, so I’ll inform you a bit about our hostels-

The boys’ hostels do not follow any in-time. This is because the college library is functional 24*7, so the boy students are not bound to hostel timings. Boys can bring their relatives to their hostel room, but they need to mention it in the guards’ register. Girls aren’t allowed in boys’ hostels, and vice versa. The girls’ hostels are comparatively more strict and restrictive.

Having said all this, AIIMS hostels are filled with all the freedom and necessary facilities. Its hostels will be the last reason for you to dislike an AIIMS.

Is it true that IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta CVs are highly exaggerated by the students despite the rigorous verification to make them sound impactful?

Risk Management from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (2019)

No, IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta CVs aren’t highly exaggerated. The right terms will be well-structured and strategically marketed

As mentioned, the CV verification process is rigorous and the institute only accepts poofs in certain specific formats from authorized people or organizations. So, there is no way anyone can exaggerate any facts. Students of these institutes mention their work and achievements in a way that catches the eye of the recruiters. That is the only difference.

What is bad about BITS Goa?

SK
Sanjana Kapoor Posted On : October 4th, 2023
BITS(Goa)

BITS Goa has both pros and cons, unlike other universities. Some of the demerits that the students faced while pursuing their course from BITS Goa are as follows

  1. Faculty and Fees: Faculty quality can vary, and high tuition fees (around 1.59 lakhs per semester) raise questions about value for money.
  2. Library and Medical Centre: Limited operating hours for the library and medical center can be inconvenient compared to colleges with 24/7 access.
  3. Infrastructure Challenges: Frequent power cuts, lack of backup generators in hostels, and unreliable AC and fans in lecture halls are common issues.
  4. Grading System: Lack of transparency in the grading system can be frustrating for students.
  5. Peer Pressure: Some seniors may create pressure based on entrance exam cutoffs, making newcomers feel inadequate.
  6. Academics and Research: Outdated syllabus and limited research culture, attributed to funding constraints, are areas of concern.

In conclusion, BITS Goa has its pros and cons. Consider both merits and demerits to make an informed decision.

Why MDU Rohtak is not a good choice for doing B.Tech?

RY
Ronit Yadav Posted On : October 14th, 2021
B.Tech from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (2017)

MDU Rohtak is an average university. Although there are not many opportunities made available to the students you can turn the tables with your caliber and skills.

If you are a mediocre student with good writing skills then MDU would be the best fit for you. The students tend to write gibberish in the examination halls and yet pass their exams in the first attempt. Assuming that you are an average student, scoring good marks in your exams would not be much of a challenge.

If you are pursuing the course only for procuring a degree then UIET MDU would be a good decision. Your college life here would be quite challenging as you would have to fight for the bare minimum. For lab keys, placement opportunities, better grades and such are a part of this fight.

Otherwise, your passion for the course would be well catered at MDU Rohtak. Make a decision you do not regret later.

What is the normal mess menu at IIT Kharagpur hostels?

AC
Anumita Chatterjee Posted On : March 22nd, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK)

IIT Kharagpur has around 15 hostels and guest houses for both girls and boys. The Hall Management Center has allotted each hostel its own private tender to serve food and thus every hostel has different quality and range of food served.

The first-year students are allotted the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hall the menu of which is excellent.

  • Breakfast: 7-9 am: Breakfast includes Dosa, Puri, Poha, Paratha, and Idli during weekdays. The other option that is always available is Bread and Jam/Butter. For extras, you can get a Banana, boiled egg, and tea or milk.
  • Lunch 12 pm to 1: 30 pm: The students are given a food chart to choose from during weekdays except Sundays when Biryani is served. In the initial period of stay, each student is given the choice of veg and non-veg. On average, 2 days of all-veg is served while the remaining days have options.
  • 4pm-6 pm: Panipuri, Dahivada, Momos, and Samosa are the snacks available during weekdays.
  • Dinner 7-8:45 pm: Dinner is served on the basis of your choice of veg or non-veg with options of chicken/paneer served twice a week. Tadka dal and sambar are always available.

Apart from the routine mess food, there is also a Nescafe just outside the hall. Each hostel has a night canteen which runs till 3 am to satisfy midnight cravings.

Special dinner takes place twice a semester before the mid sem examination and end sem examination.

How do I get good marks in JNTUH B.Tech?

JP
Jiten Pradhan Posted On : August 3rd, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2020)

It’s unfortunate to say this but getting good marks in JNTU Hyderabad for any course is just a dream. The correction staff won’t give you good marks even if you write exactly what’s written in your course book. The system is broken and the quality of corrections and exams is deteriorating.

Even the most studious ones who attempt the exam well sometimes get poor scores. This is because the institute is a money-making machine that deliberately fails the students to earn more and more exam fees. Almost every student has to apply for revaluation which alone costs 1000 ru.

The marking scheme here is manipulated, costing the lives and dreams of thousands of ambitious students. I will suggest you never get admission here and neither recommend it to anyone. Instead, go for OU or KU.

Is it good to do a junior residency (non-academic) in AIIMS Delhi?

PA
Puneet Aarya Posted On : May 31st, 2023
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences

Junior residency at AIIMS Delhi would provide you with a great opportunity to learn and grow as a medical professional. Junior residency (Non-academic) at AIIMS is a great option because

  • It is one of the highest paid jobs for a fresher
  • You are doing it from one of the most reputed government institutes of the country
  • You will have to spend only fixed hours of work which is around 48 hrs/ week.

Here, you will get an idea of the academic environment and proficiency of the residents. You will also get hands-on experience in performing surgeries that you read in textbooks like osteomyocutaneous flap and replantations. Joining AIIMS as a JR(NA) would be beneficial if you are looking for any of the following things

  • If you are planning to do PG adorn here but first want to get an insight into the specialty of interest
  • If you want to earn money before your Post Graduation.
  • If you are studying alongside working. Many students shared that working made it easier to clear the AIIMS PG exam as most of the questions asked were related to the work they did.
  • If you are saving money for commerce or academic purposes
  • If you are planning to open your own hospital and want to get an idea of the way services are provided.

However, ultimately the decision of whether or not it is good for you would depend on your own specific goals and circumstances.
