The interview started with pleasantries. He was asked questions about his essay, his WAT, his life in IIT Bombay. They also questioned about his internship experience, the subjects he read during graduation. Other than these, the interviewers asked general questions regarding current affairs, tv shows.

I have a few friends, who graduated from IIT BHU. One of them is an alumnus of the Chemical Engineering department. He speaks quite fondly about Prof. P. Ahuja. According to him, Pradeep Ahuja Sir is one of the best teachers, he got to learn from. During the MHRD meet of their department, most students selected Ahuja Sir as the best faculty member, unanimously.

My friends also talk about Prof O.N Singh from the Physics department, Prof. P.K. Mukharjee from ECE Prof V.V. Menon from the Applied Mathematics department.

How tough is getting into JBIMS?

MT
Milind Thakur Posted On : February 20th, 2023
Student of Life

It certainly is quite tough to get into JBIMS, especially for the full-time MMS Program. I’ve r the last few years JBIMS witnessed 3 admission procedures

Percentile required 99.5: Initially followed an admission procedure that included CET (200) + GD (17) + PI (17) + Past Academic Record (2) + Work Experience (2). This procedure was discontinued around 2012. Only 120 students were allotted a seat out of 10000 and the percentile required was around 99.5.

Percentile required 99.85: This admission procedure did not include the GD-PI round and the admission was done solely on the basis of a written test. This was a book for candidates who had average academic backgrounds and were very excellent in written English. However, this process could not focus on soft skills and other aspects of the candidate's profile so were discontinued.

Autonomous Procedure: The current procedure is an autonomous one wherein the CAT/CET scores are considered along with GD PI WAT rounds. The weightage given to the written test has been reduced so as to enable candidates with lower percentile like 98.9 to get a chance too. They can prove themselves in the GD-PI round and hence make it into JBIMS. Approximately from every GE one candidate gets admission. One may think this is easy when in reality the competition is extremely tough due to the quality of the candidates. Each one of them is talented in one or the other areas and gives an edge to the other. There is no safe score as one may not get in even after scoring 99 percentile whereas one may get admitted even with 98 percentile. It all depends on your overall profile.

What would be the rank of BITS Pilani Goa campus and BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus if they were ranked separately?

DS
Divya Saraf Posted On : July 3rd, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad

I don’t believe that all BITS Pilani campuses are equally ranked. They certainly have a few similarities such as the curriculum and policies but apart from that the campuses have many major differences. Here are a few components based on which I have ranked BITS Pilani campuses

  • Placements: Placement-wise the ranking of BITS campuses is Pilani>Go>Hyderabad. BITS Pilani has the best companies and packages followed by Goa. Hyderabad has a relatively lesser number of companies and the pay is also less.
  • Practice School: Under this program, students go through a six-month internship in many great companies like Amazon, Apple, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Nomura, etc., and there are hundreds of companies to choose from. The only difference in the campuses is that you can make it to the top companies by scoring a 9-pointer at the Pilani campus while a 7-pointer at the Hyderabad campus. This is mainly because Hyderabad students are made to do summer term courses to get a few extra points during the allotment process.
  • Campus life: The Pilani campus is remotely located and the students love a challenging life here. But all the harshness of the campus makes them grow as a person. Goa and Hyderabad campuses enjoy prime locations and facilities thereby offering a different type of development. However, the Pilani students are more open-minded, flexible, and hardworking than students from other campuses.
  • Education: Sadly, the quality of education is deteriorating in all the BITS campuses. The faculty pool is pathetic and the mean grade is deflating day by day.

So, research well, talk to alumni of all the campuses, and then make a well-informed decision.

How do I get transcripts from CCS University in Meerut?

SS
Shanu Sharma Posted On : October 25th, 2021
studied Master of Business Administration Degrees at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies

The process is quite simple. Here is what you need to do.

  • CCS University does not have an online request system for degree transcripts, so you must visit the university campus in Meerut.
  • The university is open Monday to Friday and on the first and third Saturdays of the month. So, if you work, you can come to campus on Saturday.
  • Make photocopies of all of your mark sheets, as well as a copy of your ID proof.
  • Visit the University Campus, Allahabad Bank branch, and purchase the Transcript Request Form for Rs 220.
  • Fill out the form, then go to any of the Cybercafés just outside and request a rough transcript.
  • They will charge INR 40 per semester and will only prepare a rough transcript there. Double-check that the rough transcript corresponds exactly to your Mark sheets.
  • Take all documents to the University’s Confidentiality Department (also known as Gopnyia Vibhag).
  • Purchase a 41 Stamp and one envelope from the Post Office directly across the street from Gopniya Vibhag.
  • Stick the stamps on the envelope and write your name, address, and phone number on it.
  • Your transcripts will be sent to you in the same envelope that you used to put 41 stamps and write your address.
  • Transcripts will be delivered within 15–20 business days.

There are a lot of ‘so-called Brokers’ right outside the university who will promise you that they can get you your degree transcript in one day and will charge you around 2,000. However, it’s best to follow the rules and receive the transcript on time.

How will be my daughter's life at AFMC Pune?

BS
Bhavna Saxena Posted On : May 2nd, 2026

AFMC Pune is a unique institution and your daughter's life there will be quite different from a regular college. here's an honest picture:

the structured part: AFMC is a para-military institution. discipline is military-style — uniform mandatory, punctuality enforced, strict hostel rules, no marriage during the course. attendance and conduct rules are stricter than any civilian medical college.

the positive part: the campus is beautiful (inside Pune Cantonment), very well-maintained. hostel facilities are good. food at the mess is decent by most accounts. fellow students are selected based on merit and have strong work ethic — peer quality is excellent. there's a genuine sense of camaraderie and pride in being part of the armed forces.

academic life: MBBS curriculum is the standard MCI/NMC syllabus but there's additional military medicine training. clinical exposure is extensive through Command Hospital (Southern Command) — one of the best military hospitals in India.

social life: limited compared to civilian colleges. extracurricular activities exist but time is structured. visits and leave are regulated. mobile phone policies are strict during certain periods.

most female students at AFMC speak positively of the experience overall. the trade-off of discipline for security, funded education, and a guaranteed commissioned officer career is very appealing for families looking for a structured path. if your daughter values independence and spontaneity, it may feel restrictive. if she thrives in structure, AFMC is genuinely excellent.

How do NIT Srinagar students get placements?

SG
Sheetal Gaur Posted On : September 20th, 2023
Studied at NIT Srinagar (2020)

As an alumnus of B.Tech CSE at NIT Srinagar, I will try providing information regarding the placement scenario of my branch.

A CSE student can be placed on campus and off campus. Around 15-20, visiting companies allow CSE students to sit for their placement drive. No CSE batch faces a shortage of placement opportunities, as per my limited knowledge. You can also opt for off-campus placements.

With good wifi facilities in hostels, you should opt for some relevant courses on edX, Coursera, or other such platforms. This will really help you grab good opportunities.

As an NIT student, you’ll get much more placement opportunities than most other engineering students. But struggle is everywhere. In order to grab good jobs, you’ll have to work on your skill set.
