If you participate in extracurricular activities, you’ll have to work hard to stay below the set attendance limitations, as the institution will not offer you any extra time off. Other institutions outside Chennai provide students a set number of attendance hours for participating in extracurricular activities.

Do marks increase in the rechecking of AKTU?
An increase in the marks while rechecking happens rarely. You get additional marks either if an answer has been left unchecked or if there is some calculation mistake in marks. Otherwise, you don't usually get an increase in marks after rechecking. While rechecking examiners don't usually see if you have rightly got 1 mark in a 5 marks question.
Another option to gain marks is to fill out the challenge form. But the challenge fees and rechecking fees are high (INR 7000 and INR 1000 respectively). You can also opt for carryover paper. For this, you will have to work hard.

NMIMS waitlist is tough ngl — for MBA Mumbai specifically, chances are quite low. they typically call around 1,100+ students for ~500 seats, so most of the buffer is already priced in during the first round itself. if you're on the waitlist, it usually means waitlisted = near rejected for core MBA.
that said, here's what actually moves waitlists:
- movement mostly happens between April–June when candidates who got calls from other B-schools (IIMs, XLRI etc.) drop their NMIMS seat
- your waitlist rank matters a lot — below 100 is hopeful, 200-300 is possible, above 500 is very unlikely for Mumbai core MBA
- NMIMS Bangalore/Hyderabad/Indore campuses are much easier to convert from waitlist since they're lower demand. if you didn't specify only Mumbai, reply immediately confirming interest in other campuses
practical advice — don't sit and wait. confirm your interest to NMIMS right now if you haven't. they drop waitlisted candidates who don't respond quickly. keep your offer letter, fee payment, and documents ready so you can confirm in hours if a seat opens. also keep your backup options (SIBM, XIMB, MDI etc.) alive simultaneously.

Here are a few valuable tips which Inas a senior would like to give to my juniors to make their journey at IIT Kanpur, a tad bit easier.
- Never underestimate the importance of CPI as it’s a major determining factor for employability. You will lose out on high job opportunities if your CPI is below 8.
- Socialize well with your wingmates as they will become your family seats from home and your connection is bound to continue even after a decade of passing out.
- Don’t force extracurricular activities on yourself just for the sake of a resume and do them only if you are genuinely interested. This is because you will not be able to manage your time well and your CPI will be affected in the process.
- Don’t pay much heed to the advice of second-year students as they have little knowledge about placements. It’s better to approach a final-year student for advice on the same.
- Approach the professors frequently and develop a rapport with them. Ask them for career advice and such
- Adopt one activity that will keep you physically fit and be consistent in that. It can be anything from a simple exercise to joining a gym or swimming.
- Develop excellent communication and presentation skills
- Start planning for the future and working on it from the 6th semester itself.
