What is the toughest thing to do at BIT Mesra?

UP
Utsav Patranabish Posted On : April 15th, 2021
BE, BIT Mesra

The list below will give you some of the toughest things to do at BIT Mesra.

Mess food:

  • It is below par, to say the least, and one of the worst things about the hostel life at BIT Mesra. Staying healthy and not getting malnourished is the toughest task here.
  • The water used for cooking or drinking in the mess is unhygienic and getting typhoid is as common as catching a common cold and cough.
  • The food is also of very substandard quality and it is safe to say that if you are healthy enough and you want to shed some weight, then eating the mess food is more than enough to do that without needing a gym subscription.

Classes –

  • The classes are good until you use your logical sense of what some of the professors are teaching.
  • No doubt many professors are really knowledgeable, but there are some who will put up the classes with zero logic. You will not be able to question them.
  • Questioning them or putting up some genuine logic and reasoning becomes a task here.

Dispensary – Getting good medicine from the institute’s dispensary is a task in itself. The doctor will prescribe you the same medicine for every disease.

Administration – Getting a day or a half-day off for college fests or even a simple signature on your document will take your full day with running this department to that. Even after such a long ordeal, your work may not get accomplished.

The list may increase depending upon each student’s experience. But these are some of the common things which can make your life difficult at BIT Mesra.

What is the average package of NSIT COE?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : August 19th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

Instead of checking the average package, you should check the median package. This is because the average package does not always give an accurate picture. If a student from that branch/course gets placed in say, Google or Facebook at a package of around 1CPA, this would drastically lift the average package figure.

On the other hand, the median package is the salary in the middle when salaries are arranged in an increasing/ decreasing order. The median package offered to the B.Tech students at NSUT for 2022 placements was INR 16 LPA.

Here is the year-wise salary trend for B.Tech placements at NSUT-

NSUT Delhi B.Tech Placements
Thus, the B.Tech placements are quite decent at NSUT. You can consult the department alumni to find out the median and average packages offered to the COE branch in particular.

Is Panimalar Engineering College good?

AB
Aishwarya Bhatt Posted On : April 22nd, 2023
B.E. Computer Science, Panimalar Engineering College (2019)

If you're planning to attend this college, there are certain things you need to know to survive. While the food and some good faculty members can be helpful, they are quite rare. However, here are some things that you may need to endure:

  • Strict Rules: The college has a strict rule against any talk of the opposite sex, even if it's about your siblings or relatives. You can expect to face severe consequences if you violate this rule.
  • Formal Dress Code: The dress code is formal for boys, and girls are not allowed to wear leggings or any modern dressing styles.
  • Poor Quality of Teaching: The quality of teaching in this college is highly poor. You may pass the exams and even secure a good grade with the notes they provide, but the knowledge you gain is minimal.
  • No Respect for Human Rights: All forms of human rights are thrown out the window. If you have a beard, you will face discrimination and may be ostracized.
  • No Value for Student Curiosity: The college does not value student curiosity or enthusiasm. You may find yourself struggling to find opportunities to explore your interests.
  • Industrial Visits for Namesake: Industrial visits are just for the sake of it, and you may not gain any real-world knowledge or experience.
  • Symposium and Conferences for Namesake: The same applies to symposiums and conferences. They are only conducted for the sake of it and may not be beneficial in terms of learning.
  • Co-education for Namesake: The college claims to be co-educational, but in reality, it may not be. You may not find many opportunities for interaction with the opposite gender.
  • No Scope for Research: Research opportunities are minimal, and you may find yourself redoing existing projects repeatedly, which can be pointless.

In summary, while you may get an engineering degree in your respective field, you may not be able to become an engineer inside this campus.

How is the IIT BHU MTech regarding placements?

SD
Souvick Dasgupta Posted On : June 1st, 2022
M.Tech (Electronic Systems) from IIT Bombay

There are fewer placement opportunities available for IIT BHU MTech branches compared to BTech branches. Most MTech students apply for jobs through off campus placements. You can get placed in the IT sector if you have good coding skills. Companies recruiting core branch students are fewer in number. As per IIT BHU placement highlights the average CTC for most MTech branches is around INR 6-8 LPA.

Why is DTU ranked so low in the NIRF?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : July 4th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

DTU, earlier known as DCE, has a rather obsolete curriculum and pedagogy. Despite that, it invites more than 450 recruiters every year. These companies are well aware of the excellent coding culture at DTU showcased through the student's online presence on top sites like HackerRank/HackerEarth/Codechef. So if you are a coding lover, DTU has opportunities at par with top institutes like IIITH, IITB, and BITS Pilani.

However, rankings are done on various aspects including GO. Considering all the branches of DTU, it rightly deserves to be among the top ten due to its location.

But NIRF ranks it poorly as it considers a variety of parameters like:

  • TLR, Teaching, Learning, and Resources: DTU has very few approachable faculties thereby bringing down the ratings
  • RPP, Research and Professional Practice: Recently, DTU has received funding so it’s slowly improving its research culture which earlier was non-existent.
  • GO, Graduation Outcomes: DTU has a good graduation outcome almost comparable to IIT Bombay.
  • OI, Outreach, and Inclusivity: This brought down the rankings miserably.

So we can conclude that NIRF rankings are based on useless criteria and shouldn’t be considered to evaluate colleges worth and credibility.

How was your experience at AURA and AIIMS Jodhpur in particular?

SJ
Shruti Jha Posted On : June 5th, 2023
Studying mbbs from AIIMS, Jodhpur

My sister shared her experience at AURA as she was overwhelmed by the entire event. AURA is a beautiful escape from the hectic life of AIIMS Jodhpur medical students. The event is well organized and managed by the students.

The institute welcomed a celebrity every night and students met Zakir Khan, Amit Trivedi, and Nucleya among many others.

The students can be seen participating actively and many Rajasthani students too. The sports events witnessed massive participation from students of other colleges and it was a great sight to see medical students participating in extracurriculars.

My sister was from MAMC and described the overall experience as dreamy and cherished the award she won from her first-ever fest. AURA gave her a chance to restart her long-forgotten dream of playing table tennis and she considers it the best experience of her life.

Which is better - Galgotias University or Galgotia's College?

SP
Siddharth Patil Posted On : March 5th, 2026

Galgotias University vs Galgotias College of Engineering — two institutions with almost identical names from the same promoter but with very different structures. Here's the clear breakdown.

Galgotias University (GU), Greater Noida:

  • A full university (deemed/private). Established 2011. Confers its own degrees.
  • Broader program portfolio: BTech, BBA, MBA, Law, Sciences, Design.
  • NAAC B++. Placement rate: ~65-70% for BTech. Average CTC: ~4-5.5 LPA.
  • Large intake (~5000+ per year across programs) — high volume but diluted brand.

Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Greater Noida:

  • An autonomous engineering college affiliated to AKTU (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University). Older and more established for engineering specifically.
  • Degree from AKTU (same as UPTU). Well-recognized in UP and NCR industry.
  • Placement: Similar tier — ~60-70% placement. Average: ~4-5 LPA.
  • More focused engineering culture than the university's broader mix.

Which is better?

  • For BTech engineering: GCET (College) has slightly more established engineering identity, AKTU affiliation is familiar to NCR recruiters.
  • For flexibility in programs, MBA, Law: GU (University) offers more options.
  • Neither is among Noida/NCR's top private engineering options — both below JSS Noida, KIET, GL Bajaj in placement outcomes.
