ECE department at RMK Engineering College has an annual intake of 180. The department offers a BE program and to take admission the students are required to have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate. The students are also required to have a valid TNEA rank. In 2019 the required cutoff was 9246. 

The department consists of 53 faculty members who are supportive and friendly. The institute pushes its students to actively participate in many workshops and conferences to excel in academics.

IIITNaya Raipur and IIITDM Jabalpur are affiliated by UGC. Both institutes offer admission in on the basis of marks secured in JEE Main and for M.Tech, a valid score in GATE is required. IIIT Naya Raipur offers foreign internship programs of 6 months duration for 20 students

IIT Naya Raipur

B.Tech

• According to JEE Main score, shortlisted candidates will be offered seats based on JoSSA counseling.
• One must have scored 50% marks with Physics and Chemistry in their intermediate examination.
• IIT offers 60 seats for the B.Tech ECE program.
• The process of counseling is based on the candidate's merit in the written exam and the selected options during online option filling.

M.Tech

• The applicant must be GATE qualified and have passed the B.Tech or M.Sc with at least 60% marks
• For M.Tech, 35 % of the seats are reserved for All India Quota, 15 % for NTPC Quot, and 50% for Chattisgarh State Quota.

IIITDM Jabalpur

• For admission in B.Tech CS, the applicant must have a valid score in JEE Main, however, for M.Tech, a score in GATE is scored.
• The application fee is INR 325.
• All qualifying examination documents will be accepted in PDF form only.
• The applications for admission are accepted through the official websites of GOAPS where the applicant has to register to create a new registration.

Placements:

IIITDM Jabalpur

• The students graduating from the 2020 batch have already have received around 177 job offers.
• Three students from the CS department took the highest pay package of Rs 23 lakhs.
• Reliance Jio, Amazon, Microsoft, Yantriks, LensBricks, Samsung R&D, and 1mg is the giant corporate recruiters of the institute.

IIIT Naya Raipur

• IIIT offers 100% placements for interested students.
• Some of the major recruiters at IIIT are Capgemini, Deloitte, 1mg, Carl Zeiss, Utopia labs, American Express, Ericsson, and TCS.
• 1mg and American Express offered a pay package of 12-16 LPA, Carl Zeiss, and Utopia labs offered 8-10 LPA while others offered a pay package of 5-7 LPA.

Both institutes offer scholarships to the students based on the academic scores, and the student’s category (As per govt rule).

National Institute of Technology, Suratkhal (NIT Suratkhal), offers a four-year bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication. With the 123 seat markup, the competition can get pretty competitive, as it yields towards high paying placement packages from a great program. 

VJTI, Mumbai also offers a similar 4-year program in computer engineering, with students getting placement offers from the company's consolidated campus drive. 

Students confused amongst the degrees can judge both by the lens of public demand and professional relevance.

Electronics and Communications, NITK, Surathkal

Course Outlook

• NITK offers a four-year bachelor's and a two-year master's degree in Electronics and Communications, with amazing lectures, practical training, and a guaranteed placement drive waiting at the end of each program.
• NIRF ranks its program at 33rd place, while India Today awards this particular bachelor's degree at 15th out of 30 colleges.

Infrastructure

• The college has some of the best infrastructures, with fully equipped labs, classrooms, and an added luxury of a great ambiance. 
• Students willing to opt for a hostel can do so comfortably, as it comes with a great many amenities. 

Computer Engineering, VJTI, Mumbai 

Course Outlook

• VJTI offers a four-year bachelor's course in computer engineering, focused on the design and development of computers and technological devices.
• NIRF ranks the course at 71st place out of the 300 eligible contenders, whereas THE Week ranks it at 26 places among 130 different colleges. 

Infrastructure

VJTI's campus is like no other, with its halls containing anything and everything required for modern technical education. 

Although there are many good points about both of these colleges, once you are settled on the course, the decision gets easier. Out of both options, a computer engineering degree at VJTI college is a far better program, yielding the best opportunities for fresh graduates in this challenging young world.

MAIT and NSUT are two of the top private engineering colleges in India. MAIT is ranked 41st by India Today, and NSUT is ranked 76th in India by the NIRF in 2020. Both MAIT and NSUT offer BTech programs for IT.

The total seats in the IT branch at MAIT are 180 with a total tuition fee of Rs 4.69 lakhs. The total seats in the ECE branch at NSUT are 180, with a total tuition fee of Rs 7.81 lakhs.

Admission:

• Admission in both the colleges is based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main examination, with 55% and 60% in the 10+2 examination for MAIT and NSUT, respectively.

• Candidates need to go through the GGSIPU counseling for securing a seat in MAIT, and JAC Delhi counseling for NSUT.

Placements:

MAIT- At MAIT, the IT branch has one of the highest placement records.

• The highest salary package offered is around 28 LPA, and the lowest is around 3.3 LPA, and the average is around 5 LPA.

• More than 40 companies come for placements in the IT branch.

• Some of the companies that come for recruitment are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Nagar, Accenture, and IBM.

NSUT- It has some of the top companies in India visiting for placements, including international companies.

• The placement record of the ECE branch is pretty decent, around 90%.

• The maximum package offered is 22 LPA; the minimum package offered is 3 LPA.

• Companies like D. E Shaw, Amazon, Microsoft, and Sprinklr come to the campus for recruitment.

Infrastructure:

MAIT- The campus of MAIT is relatively small but has all the necessary facilities required by students. Facilities include Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, libraries, and sports facilities.

NSUT-

• It has a massive air-conditioned library of three floors containing books written by national and international authors.

• Classrooms are spacious, and the entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled.

• NSUT also has excellent sports facilities with badminton, basketball, and tennis courts, and also grounds for football, cricket, and running tracks.

In terms of academics, both the colleges have a dedicated group of faculties who support and guide their students. The student to faculty ratio at MAIT is around 70:1, and at NSUT it is almost the same. The faculties at NSUT are highly qualified but extremely strict, and the course curriculum is updated. As for which institute will be better for you, you should be the one to decide that.
