What is your review of CSE at PES University?

vs
vidhi sharma Posted On : April 6th, 2024

PES University is a good private university offering four-year B.Tech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) courses. It is one of the most popular courses at the university and is worth the hype.

Students can go through the following reasons to know more about the CSE course at PES University:

  • Approvals & Accreditations: The university is recognized by UGC and the Government of Karnataka. It is also accredited by NAAC and holds the approval of AICTE, making it a trustable institution.
  • Fees: The B.Tech CSE fee at PES University is INR 4,80,000 per annum and a candidate also has to pay INR 10,000 as a one-time non-refundable admission fee. The university courses are more expensive in comparison to other universities, so if you cannot afford high fees don't apply for this university.
  • Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria for CSE is very simple at PES University Bangalore. Candidates must have passed Class XII with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to be eligible for admission.
  • Selection: The selection of candidates is based on merit in the entrance examination. The university conducts PESSAT to offer admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses including B.Tech CSE. The university also accepts KCET and JEE Mains scores.
  • Minor Specialization: The students can also choose B.Tech CSE in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as a minor specialization giving more aligned specialization to applicants.
  • Seat Intake: There are a total of 720 seats available in the CSE course among which 288 are KCET quota seats, 288 seats are available for PESSAT candidates and 36 seats are reserved for JEE Mains students. The university has also reserved 108 seats for management/ NRI/ foreign/ sponsored category students. 43 seats are there for Lateral entry students and the remaining 29 seats are for CET quota students applying for lateral entry in CSE.
  • Ranking: The university has been ranked 100-150 for Engineering (B.Tech) by NIRF 2023.

Here are a few unique features of IIT Kanpur that make it stand out among other IITs.

  • Alumni: IIT Kanpur has successfully produced eminent persons who have contributed to many achievements globally and raised the flag of the institute high.
  • Campus: IITK has one of the most beautiful campuses decked with greenery. IIT Kanpur sprawls over 1959 acres and is like a city in itself. The campus is a haven for nature lovers and Lea moms roaming around is a common occurrence.
  • Academics: Academically, IIT Kanpur is known for its strenuous workload and peer pressure. But in reality, it has a very flexible culture. There are no attendance policies or bans on the Internet.
  • Campus life: Numerous cultural activities make campus life lively and exciting. There is always something to do and explore. The extracurricular activities cover various fields like dance, music science, and technology.

  • Air Strip: IIT Kanpur's most lucrative aspect is its Air Strip which is 1000m long and can hold single-engine aircraft (Cessna, Piper, Saratoga) and gliders.
  • Bonding among students: There is great harmony not only among batchmates but also among juniors and seniors which promotes healthy relations within the campus.

All these are more than enough to combine someone to choose IIT Kanpur over other IITs.

Does IIM Indore have a hard time getting everyone placed?

GR
Gargi Roy Posted On : August 26th, 2021
MBA, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (2018)

It’s not entirely true that IIM Indore has a hard time getting everyone placed. Yes, it does take longer to wrap up the placement as compared to other reputed B-Schools like SP Jain, NITIE, IIMK, etc.

One of my friends recently graduated from IIM Indore and according to her, the final placements for 2020, took nearly 2 months to complete. While the other B-Schools wrapped up placements in 1 to 1.5 weeks. This delay in placement has nothing to do with the quality of education at the institute. It is due to the large batch size.

But at IIM Indore almost every student gets placed in a decent job. It doesn't guarantee you that the job or the salary will satisfy you. You will have to work even harder and polish your skills more to secure your dream job.

Has anyone ever been rejected by Amity University Noida?

VR
Vaishali Rastogi Posted On : January 29th, 2021
MSc Forensic Science, Amity University (2019)

Yes, one of my friends, who applied for one of the famous courses(BJMC) got rejected for Amity. But in the interview round she got a few answers wrong. Besides, she also had a gap of four years in her studies due to some medical issues.

The next day, she got informed through the website that she was not selected for her course in which she applied.

It is certainly not true that everyone gets admission in Amity very easily. A huge number of students apply to Amity University every year. So, it is evident that some of the applications will be rejected.

Some people I know secured marks that, without even an interview, would get them admission anywhere, because CBSE is obviously not frugal with respect to giving marks. On the other hand, the NIOS is not typically very generous. Moreover, if you have experienced a huge gap in your studies, then that will be an issue too.

Who is the most friendly professor in IIT Madras? Why?

RS

Lives in banglore

My brother is an alumnus of IIT Madras. During his time, Professor Kamakoti was one of the friendliest professors at IITM.

Whenever sir caught someone sleeping in the class or coming late for the lecture, he would simply crack a joke and lighten everyone’s mood. He was an absolute master of his subject. The only thing which frustrated him was the lack of interest among students towards lab coursework.

My brother is not sure if sir still teaches at IITM, but he always fondly remembers sir.
