About Fee Regulation in Maharashtra

The FRA is a statutory body set up under Maharashtra state law. It approves annual tuition fees for unaided private professional colleges. The body reviews cost proposals submitted by each college. Colleges cannot charge above the FRA-approved fee for regulated seats. Any excess collection can invite refund orders and penalties.

Why This Matters

The Rs 75,000 hike lifts annual MBBS cost by nearly nine percent. Over 4.5 years, students will pay Rs 3,37,500 more in tuition alone.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Visit the FRA Maharashtra website for the full fee notification.
  2. Confirm the revised fee directly with the TMC admission office before joining.
  3. Keep the NEET UG 2026 scorecard and required documents ready.
  4. Register with the Maharashtra CET Cell for state quota counselling.
  5. Plan finances covering hostel, mess and caution deposit charges.
Keep an Eye On

Maharashtra CET Cell will soon release the MBBS state quota counselling schedule. Aspirants should also track FRA updates for further tranches of fee revisions.
