AP PGCET 2026 Phase 1 Counselling Web Options Entry Closes Today

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will close the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (AP PGCET) 2026 Phase 1 counselling web options entry window today, September 15, 2026. Registered candidates must lock their college and course preferences on the official counselling portal at cap.apcfss.in before the deadline lapses.

The option entry window opened on September 11, 2026. Candidates who miss today's cut-off will lose their chance to appear in the Phase 1 seat allotment. A separate edit window is scheduled for September 16, 2026 for those who have already submitted their choices.

Admissions through AP PGCET lead to postgraduate programmes such as MA, MSc, MCom and MEd across state universities and their affiliated colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

How to Lock Web Options for AP PGCET 2026 Phase 1?

Candidates who have completed registration and slot booking can follow the steps below to submit their preferences.

  1. Visit the official counselling portal at cap.apcfss.in.
  2. Click on the AP PGCET 2026 candidate login link.
  3. Enter the hall ticket number, payment reference ID and date of birth.
  4. Select preferred colleges and courses in the order of priority.
  5. Save each option and review the full preference list.
  6. Click on the lock option to freeze the choices before the deadline.

Who Can Participate in Phase 1 Counselling?

Only candidates who have qualified AP PGCET 2026 and completed the counselling registration are eligible. Registered candidates must have paid the processing fee and uploaded the required certificates during slot booking.

Applicants must also carry the original certificates during physical verification at the allotted college. Failure to report on time will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.

What Happens After Web Options Are Locked?

The seat allotment result for Phase 1 will be published on the same portal on September 21, 2026. Candidates can download the allotment order using their login credentials.

Allotted candidates must complete self-reporting online and physical reporting at the college on September 21 and 22, 2026. Classes for the 2026-27 academic session begin on September 22, 2026.

Why This Matters

The order of preferences directly decides the college a candidate is allotted. Rearranging choices carefully during the edit window can improve the chance of a better allotment.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in to cap.apcfss.in immediately if options are not yet saved.
  2. List colleges in descending order of preference before locking.
  3. Take a printout of the locked options list for future reference.
  4. Use the September 16 edit window only if a change is essential.
  5. Keep original certificates and self-reporting documents ready by September 21.
Keep an Eye On

Watch cap.apcfss.in for the Phase 1 seat allotment order on September 21, 2026 and the subsequent Phase 2 counselling notification from APSCHE.
