SJMSOM to Begin MBA Admissions Soon; CAT 2025 Result Needed to Apply

The Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM), a constituent part of IIT Bombay, is expected to open the admission process for its MBA programme for the 2026–28 batch shortly.

According to the indicative schedule released on the institute’s official website, the Personal Interview rounds for shortlisted candidates are tentatively scheduled to be held from March 5 to March 8, 2026. All other dates, including the release of CAT 2025 results, the online application opening, and the application deadline, will be announced in due course.

For admission to the MBA programme, candidates must appear for CAT 2025, conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). However, applicants must note that IIMs have no role in the admission process at SJMSOM. After the CAT results are declared, candidates will need to fill out a separate online application form on the SJMSOM portal.

The form will require uploading several documents, including passport-size photographs, signatures, academic certificates, category certificates (if applicable), CAT scorecards, and work-experience proofs.

Shortlisting for the Personal Interview will be based on a Composite Score, calculated as per SJMSOM’s defined shortlisting criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the IIT Bombay campus for the offline PI round scheduled between March 5 and 8, 2026.

The institute has advised applicants to prepare all required documents in advance and fill out the application form in one sitting, as the session may expire after 50 minutes.
