New Delhi: SVKM's NMIMS Bengaluru has organized an insightful Y20 Talk titled 'Shared Future: Youth in Democracy and Governance,' featuring Ms. Surabhi Hodigere. This impactful session was conducted in collaboration with INDGenius and Y20 India.

In the NMIMS Bengaluru's enriching session, the distinguished speaker, Ms. Surabhi Hodigere, stands out as a prominent public policy specialist, particularly in the field of technology policy.

Currently serving as a top research fellow at the esteemed Aapti Institute in Bangalore, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Honors) from the acclaimed Christ University and a Master’s in Public Policy from the globally renowned Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Ms. Surabhi is recognized for her advocacy of the responsible use of technology to enhance public service delivery and public administration. With extensive experience as a civic-technology entrepreneur, she is also a recipient of the noteworthy LAMP fellowship.

What is INDGenuius and Y20?

Founded by students, alumni, and professors from leading educational institutions across India, INDGenius serves as a platform for youth, scholars, and emerging academics within premier private universities, distinguished institutes, and top boarding schools in India. The platform's objective is to function as a network that fosters the holistic growth of individuals with a development-oriented perspective.

Meanwhile, Y20 stands as the official engagement platform of the G20, comprising prominent young leaders and changemakers from G20 countries. This platform is dedicated to encouraging dialogue and knowledge exchange among top youth leaders in India and worldwide, addressing challenges facing our generation and collectively striving to make a positive impact on the world. 

In collaboration, these premier youth forums conducted the session as part of their 'Project I-Leads,' an initiative envisioning India's leadership at the G20 with a global perspective.

Details about the NMIMS Y20 Session 

During the captivating Y20 session, Ms. Surabhi shared insights into a range of significant subjects, ranging from her political experiences to her return from the United States with a commitment to serve her country. 

She also shared India’s leadership at the G20 and highlighted the remarkable success of the G20 Summit held in New Delhi earlier this year. The guest speaker extensively discussed the importance of social entrepreneurship, urging the young audience to take the lead in driving social change. In her interaction with the young attendees, she highlighted the importance of reading.

The Y20 Talk hosted at NMIMS Bengaluru proved to be a valuable experience for enthusiastic students, offering them an exclusive chance to connect with professionals and explore new ideas and perspectives.
