New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC), as part of its Faculty Development Programme, has designated King George's Medical University (KGMU) as the nodal location for medical education.
As per KGMU Lucknow, this centre intends to instruct educators from various medical colleges and institutions in cutting-edge medical practices. The medical university issued a press release on Monday (July 24, 2023) announcing the start of four-day initial workshop for this program.
This move will improve the medical education environment in the nation, ultimately resulting in the growth of trained and knowledgeable medical professionals, according to Dr Aruna Vanikar, chair of the NMC's Undergraduate Medical Education Board.
“The program's goal is to improve the overall standard of medical education by giving teachers the necessary preparation. It aims to acquire thorough knowledge and clinical skills so that teachers may fulfil their jobs in a productive way by exposing educators to new ideas in teaching and evaluation approaches,” said the press statement.
Dr. Sudhir Singh, a spokesman for KGMU, stated that the workshop aims to provide educators with modern medical education methodology, including kid-friendly teaching strategies.
"The programme, which included a variety of topics relevant to medical education, including curriculum management, teaching methodologies, assessment systems, research, and project planning, was attended by up to 30 educators from across the nation," according to TOI.
