NLUO Introduces Indias First MBA in Healthcare Management and Law

NLUO Admissions 2026 for the inaugural MBA-HML batch are now open, with the last date to apply on November 15, 2025.

NLUO MBA HML Admission Details

National Law University Odisha (NLUO) has launched a two-year MBA in Healthcare Management and Law (MBA-HML), which will begin from the 2026–28 academic session. The programme is being called the first of its kind in India.

According to the university, each course in the programme is designed with a legal perspective to address the real-world issues faced in hospitals, medical devices, and other healthcare services. The MBA-HML aims to prepare professionals who can manage the fast-growing healthcare sector while also understanding its legal challenges.

Programme at a Glance:

  • Intake Capacity: 40 seats, including 23 for the general category, 7 for SC, 9 for ST, and 1 for All India Specially Abled Person (SAP).
  • Fees: The annual programme fee is INR 3,41,500, covering academic, welfare, IT, and other campus facilities. Hostel and other charges will apply separately.
  • Application Fee: INR 2,500 (non-refundable)

Who Can Apply and How Candidates Are Chosen?

Graduates from any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) are eligible to apply to MBA-HML at NLUO. While candidates with backgrounds in law, healthcare, medicine, life sciences, or business may be preferred, the programme welcomes students from all fields.

Selection for the MBA healthcare law course at NLUO will be based on academic record, entrance exam scores (CLAT-PG, CAT, GMAT, or XRAT, depending on the candidate’s background), a Statement of Purpose (SoP), and a personal interview.

  • Medical, Paramedical & Allied Areas: Candidates will be evaluated based on academic record, SoP, and work experience (if any), followed by a personal interview.
  • Law Graduates: Selection will consider academic record, SoP, work experience (if any), and CLAT (PG) scores from 2022–2025, followed by a personal interview.
  • Other Disciplines: Candidates will be assessed based on academic record, SoP, work experience (if any), and XRAT, CAT, or GMAT scores from 2022–2025, followed by a personal interview.
