NIT Calicut Placement Report 2025

NIT Calicut has released the 2025 Placement Report for its undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) graduates.

This year, the Centre for Career Development at NIT Calicut facilitated successful placement opportunities for many students, attracting over 200 companies to visit the campus for recruitment.

Companies made a total of 971 offers to the graduating batch of 2025, with 695 UG students and 275 PG students receiving placements. For the UG batch, 81% of eligible students were placed, while the PG placement rate stood at 58.38%.

The placement season saw some impressive pay packages. The highest annual salary for UG students reached ₹43.24 lakhs, while for PG students, the maximum salary was an impressive ₹56.59 lakhs. Overall, the institute recorded an average salary of ₹12.17 lakhs.

The top employers offered opportunities across multiple domains, including core engineering, IT, consulting, analytics, and finance, showing NIT Calicut’s strong industry partnerships.

Breaking it down further, B.Tech in Computer Science recorded the highest placements with 140 out of 150 students placed, and the maximum salary in this branch matched the institute’s UG high of ₹43.24 lakhs.

Other popular branches like Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, and Electrical & Electronics also saw strong placement rates and attractive packages, indicating robust industry demand for these skill sets. Most other engineering streams, including Civil, Chemical, and Production Engineering, performed well, with placement percentages ranging from 68% to 87%.

For B.Arch and Biotechnology, placements were more modest in number but offered several good opportunities. Among PG programs, specialised branches such as M.Tech in Computer Science (Information Security), Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, Electronics Design and Technology, and Microelectronics & VLSI witnessed high packages, some even above ₹20 lakhs per annum. MBA and Science postgraduates received diverse offers as well, with the highest packages for some sciences going above ₹20 lakhs per year.

For M.Tech programs like Power Electronics and Telecommunication, many graduates got placed in top companies with competitive offers. Internships were also a significant highlight. A total of 249 students secured internships this year, 147 UG and 102 PG, with 52 reputed firms participating in the campus internship drives. This gave students valuable industry exposure and a head start for their future careers.

Notable recruiters included major multinational and Indian firms such as Accenture, AMD, American Express, Caterpillar, DE Shaw, Dell Technologies, Deloitte, ExxonMobil, Goldman Sachs, Honeywell, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti Suzuki, NVIDIA, Oracle, Qualcomm, Salesforce, Samsung, SAP Labs, Tata Motors, Texas Instruments, VISA, Wells Fargo, Western Digital, and ZS Associates. This broad mix ensured students from diverse branches had plenty of opportunities.

NIT Calicut’s Centre for Career Development played a vital role in linking students with recruiters by organising placement processes, training sessions, and internship drives.
