NEET SS Counselling 2025 is likely to resume this week, with Round 2 expected to commence in the first week of June 2026 at mcc.nic.in. The update follows FAIMA's representation to MCC Chairman on May 28, 2026.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is likely to resume the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 counselling this week on its official portal at mcc.nic.in. The update follows a representation submitted by the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) to the MCC Chairman on May 28, 2026.
According to FAIMA, Round 2 of NEET SS Counselling 2025 is expected to commence in the first week of June 2026. The choice filling window for Round 2 had earlier been extended until further notice. Around 7,000 super speciality aspirants are waiting for the process to resume.
The counselling has been on hold since April 2026 due to a pending Supreme Court matter. The case, titled Tamilvani and Others versus State of Tamil Nadu, concerns the reversion of in-service seats from Tamil Nadu to the All India Quota pool. MCC paused the schedule pending the court's direction on the seat matrix.

Why Was the Counselling Paused?
MCC had extended the Round 2 choice filling window "till further orders" in April 2026. The pause was linked to the Tamilvani case before the Supreme Court of India. The matter concerns whether unfilled in-service seats from Tamil Nadu should revert to the All India Quota.
The final seat matrix for Round 2 depends on the court's view on this question. MCC chose to defer the schedule rather than allot seats that might later be reshuffled. The delay has caused stress for candidates who resigned from existing jobs after the Round 1 allotment.
