The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has released the Tentative Schedule for CET 2026 for students aspiring to secure admission into various professional degree courses across the state of Maharashtra.

Maharashtra CET Cell Introduces Combined Entrance Test

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced a significant revision to the MAH BHMCT CET 2026 examination structure. Beginning with the 2026–27 academic session, a single, unified entrance examination, MAH–B.HMCT/BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM–CET 2026 will replace the earlier separate tests conducted for various undergraduate programmes.

According to the latest official notification, admissions to BHMCT, BCA, BBA, BMS, and BBM will now be carried out through one combined CET. This marks a major shift in the state’s admission process, aiming to streamline procedures and create a simplified, uniform examination system for all participating courses.

The State Cell has also released the Tentative Schedule for CET 2026 for various professional degree programmes across Maharashtra. The public notice, issued on November 21, 2025, outlines the proposed exam dates for MHT CET, MAH MBA CET, MH CET Law, and several other state-level entrance examinations, scheduled between late March and mid-May 2026.

Earlier, students were required to appear for separate entrance examinations. MAH HM CET was conducted exclusively for Hotel Management, while a different test was held for BCA, BBA, BMS, and BBM programmes. The newly announced system replaces these multiple examinations with one combined test.

According to the CET Cell, the decision has been taken to streamline the admission process and reduce the burden on students. Since the eligibility requirements for these programmes are broadly similar, a unified examination will ensure a more efficient and simplified procedure.

Courses Covered Under the New CET

The combined test will now be required for admission to the following undergraduate courses:

Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), and Bachelor of Business Management (BBM). These programmes cover disciplines such as hospitality, computer applications, and business management.

From the 2026 session, the separate MAH HM CET for Hotel Management will no longer be conducted. Aspirants for BHMCT seats must take the new unified examination.

Exam Mode, Duration, and Upcoming Syllabus

The MAH–B.HMCT/BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM–CET 2026 will be conducted online at designated examination centres across Maharashtra. The duration of the test will be 120 minutes.

The CET Cell will soon release the detailed syllabus and exam pattern. Students are advised to monitor the official website regularly for timely updates. Early access to the syllabus will help candidates plan their preparation effectively.

Why One Common Exam?

The Maharashtra CET Cell decided to combine these exams because all the included courses have similar basic eligibility criteria for admission. By having one common test, the Cell can make the admission process more efficient and reduce the burden on students who might apply for more than one of these programs. This change helps students focus their preparation on a single exam structure, making it simpler to apply to various related fields.

All official information, including application dates, admit card releases, and results, will be available exclusively on the CET Cell website: cetcell.mahacet.org. Students are encouraged to check the portal frequently to avoid missing important announcements for the 2026–27 admission cycle.
