New Delhi: The Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, is contemplating a shift to a computer-based testing format for the KEAM 2024. As per the sources, the preliminary steps to convert the KEAM into a computer exam have begun.

CEE has published a notice on the official website inviting an expression of interest from agencies with Registered Offices or Branches in Kerala, having the capability to conduct a large-scale Computer-Based Test professionally for the Engineering Entrance Examination Kerala.

The KEAM exam will tentatively be held on May 15, 2024. KEAM 2024 Result will be released on or before June 20, 2024. KEAM entrance exam is held in a traditional manner where aspirants record answers to multiple-choice questions in an Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet. This is later scanned at CEEs office to publish the result. Each year, KEAM attracts 1.2 lakh candidates. In 2023, the exam saw participation from 1,23,623 candidates, while in 2022, 1,22,083 candidates took the test.

KEAM 2024: Changes Expected

Below is the list of expected changes that can happen, if the exam changes to CBT mode:

  • The exam shall be conducted phase by phase, as it would not be possible to arrange over 1.2 lakh computer terminals at the same time.
  • An official mock test link will be available on the official website, two weeks before the exam dates.
  • The post-examination process will take less time like answer release and result declaration. In the present method, it takes over three to four weeks to scan the OMR sheet. If the exam is covered in CBT mode, then the evaluation method will be faster and scores will be made available to the candidates in the shortest time.

The exam is usually conducted in the selected districts of Kerela, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Dubai. CEE has released the online application form on the official website cee.kerala.gov.in. Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for the exam, aiming for admission to various colleges in Kerala approved by Central and State Regulatory Bodies, Universities, and the Government.
