The NTA has released the tentative schedule for JEE Main 2026, showing that the exam will be conducted in 2 sessions (January 2026 and April 2026).
The JEE Main Session 1 is expected to be conducted between January 21 and 30, 2026, and Session 2 will be conducted between April 1 and 10, 2026.
The JEE Main online registration for Session 1 will be open soon on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, in October 2025. The online registration for JEE Main Session 2 will start in the last week of January after the completion of Session 1.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that JEE Main 2026 registration for Session 1 will start in October 2025. The official registration dates are not out yet. NTA will release the JEE Main 2026 dates and other details soon on the NTA JEE Mains official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

- JEE Main 2026 registration last date is expected to be in mid-November 2025.
- To apply for 1 paper, pay a JEE Main 2025 registration fee of Rs 1000 for Gen male and Rs 800 for Gen female candidates.
- Indian or foreign candidates who have passed or are appearing for Class 12 in 2024, 2025, or 2026, with physics, math, and one more subject (either chemistry, biology, biotech, or a technical paper), will be eligible for JEE Main. There is no upper age limit.
Last year, a total of 4,89,210 candidates registered for JEE Main session 1 examination, and for JEE Main session 2 examination, a total of 4,00,696 candidates registered.

NTA has not released the JEE Main 2026 official exam dates for both sessions: Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April). So, as per the previous years' analysis, it is expected that:

JEE Main 2026 reservation policy will have Vertical and horizontal reservations. Vertical reservations are different for each group and are not transferable to other categories: for OBC-NCL candidates of 27%, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 10% for GEN-EWS. NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2026 exam in two sessions: Session 1 (January 2026) and Session 2 (April 2026). The exams will be held in 2 shifts, i.e, morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM over several days.

- If you wish to apply for both sessions, you must register and pay the JEE Main registration fee separately for Sessions 1 and 2.
- If you appear in both sessions, then the best JEE Main score among the two sessions will be considered for ranking or merit list.

JEE Main eligibility criteria as set by NTA are mentioned below:
