IIT Jammu has launched a new BTech in Unified Engineering for 2026-27. The interdisciplinary programme offers tracks in AI, Robotics, Energy and Sustainability. Admission is through JEE Advanced 2026 and JoSAA counselling at iitjammu.ac.in/ue.

Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) has launched a new programme. The four-year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) course is in Unified Engineering. It will begin from the 2026-27 academic session. Full details are listed at iitjammu.ac.in/ue.
The course is offered by the Department of Interdisciplinary Program. It will combine several engineering domains under one degree. Students will learn by building, experimenting and solving live problems. The course is designed for emerging technology sectors.
Specialisation Tracks Offered Under the Programme
The programme allows students to pick a focused track. Each track combines core engineering with applied, project-based learning. The institute has listed the following concentration areas.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for BTech Unified Engineering?
Admission to the new programme follows the standard IIT route. Candidates must qualify JEE Advanced 2026 to be considered. They also need a minimum aggregate in Class 12.
- Pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects.
- Score a minimum of 75 percent in Class 12 boards.
- SC, ST and PwD candidates need 65 percent aggregate marks.
- Qualify JEE Main 2026 followed by JEE Advanced 2026.
- Participate in JoSAA 2026 counselling for seat allocation.
How to Apply for the Programme at IIT Jammu?
There is no separate application form for this BTech course. Seats will be filled through the JoSAA 2026 counselling rounds. Candidates must register on the JoSAA portal after their JEE Advanced result.
Students must first appear for JEE Main 2026 in two sessions. Those who qualify can sit for JEE Advanced 2026 on May 17. JoSAA choice filling will open in June 2026 for IIT seats.

This is the institute's first BTech built around a fully interdisciplinary, project-led model. It moves away from the traditional branch-wise BTech structure used across most IITs.
