New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM R) conducted the induction ceremony for the 15th Batch of its MBA course on June 29-30, 2024. The batch consisted of a total of 348 students with 255 of them being women.

The induction ceremony was chaired by Prof Dheeraj Sharma, Director of IIM Rohtak. It was also attended by various eminent personalities including Shatrujeet Kapur, DGP, Haryana, Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, Gen. A. K. Singh (PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM) (Retd.), former Governor Andaman Nicobar Islands and Puducherry.

The 15th MBA Batch of IIM Rohtak also includes students from 24 states and union territories. The batch's candidates represent a great mix of graduates from a variety of disciplines, including engineering, science, commerce, management, arts, law, design, architecture, pharmacy, and journalism.

A significant number of candidates admitted to the batch have valuable work experience at various levels from prestigious corporate organisations such as Accenture, Bank of America, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte Consulting, Ernst & Young LLP, HCL Technologies, Infosys, KPMG, NatWest Group, Oracle Financial Services Software, PwC, Reliance Jio Infocomm, Samsung, TATA Steel Ltd., TCS, Wipro, and others.

The batch also includes athletes who have excelled at the state level in sports like badminton, throwball, and basketball.

What did the Guest Speakers at IIM Rohtak Induction Ceremony Say?

Shatrujeet Kapur (IPS), DGP of Haryana, emphasized the transformative role of education and the importance of networking, advising students to set clear goals and excel in their fields while embracing diversity. Nidhi Khare (IAS), praised IIM Rohtak's leadership and urged students to innovate responsibly for sustainable growth, emphasizing the value of knowledge in driving transformative change beyond profitability. AK Singh (Retd), stressed on moral integrity, trust, and resilience, encouraging students to find purpose and contribute positively to society. Sharma, welcomed students, emphasizing the significance of peer engagement and personal growth through reflection and resource optimization.

Panel Discussions Held on Leadership Strategies and Personal Growth

The induction ceremony also consisted of panel discussions by various eminent personalities. The first panel discussion was held on strategies for young leaders' personal and professional development beyond formal education. While the second panel discussion was conducted on leadership lessons from the military.

Navneet Bansal, Rucchika Garg, Poonam Barman, Ritesh Agarwal, and Manish Sharma were the first panelists. They emphasized continuous self-leadership, teamwork, empathy, adaptability, and resilience, crucial in crisis management and navigating the corporate world. The distinction between leadership and management was highlighted, stressing the importance of clear objectives and learning from setbacks.

The second panel featured retired generals Sanjeev Anand, Balbir Singh Sandhu, and Anil Kumar Shukla. They underscored strategic leadership's essence—articulating a vision, motivating others, and fostering teamwork to achieve goals. The panel drew parallels between military and corporate leadership, advocating for values like loyalty, integrity, and resilience to drive success in corporate endeavors.
