IIM Indore Enters into MoU with MPPCB and MPBDC

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has taken a significant stride towards promoting environmental excellence and advancing development initiatives in the state of Madhya Pradesh through two strategic MoUs with the MP Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) and the Madhya Pradesh Building Development Corporation (MPPSC), aiming to address environmental challenges, foster sustainability, and revolutionize development efforts.

The collaboration between IIM Indore and MPPCB is focused on jointly addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices. Leveraging their research studies, IIM Indore will provide valuable insights into policy reforms, pollution control, and socio-economic aspects, thereby offering concrete remedial measures. The institute's expertise will be instrumental in assisting MPPCB in formulating and amending environmental standards, ensuring the protection of human health, and effectively managing socio-environmental issues.

Simultaneously, IIM Indore has partnered with MPBCDC to drive development initiatives within Madhya Pradesh. The institute will extend its support through advisory services, management consulting, and expertise in exploring alternative sources of financing for the department. 

Moreover, IIM Indore will undertake comprehensive assessments such as resource gap analysis, efficiency audits, and impact evaluations of ongoing and completed projects. The collaboration will also emphasize evaluating the effectiveness of user engagement in IT initiatives and web portals. Additionally, the implementation of advanced technologies like IoT devices and substitute technologies will be facilitated to enhance pollution control efforts.

Prof Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, expressed his utmost enthusiasm for the collaborations, highlighting the institute's unwavering commitment to environmental concerns and driving positive transformations. Chandra Mohan Thakur (IAS), Member Secretary of MPPCB and Managing Director of MPBDC, emphasized the significant value of the research studies conducted by IIM Indore. These studies are expected to provide crucial insights into policy reforms, pollution control, and socio-economic aspects, ultimately offering tangible remedial measures.

These MoUs, valid for a duration of three years, exemplify IIM Indore's resolute dedication to promoting sustainability, driving positive change, and actively contributing to the overall development of society.

The recent partnerships between IIM Indore, MPPCB, and MPBDC mark a notable milestone in the pursuit of environmental excellence and the advancement of development initiatives in Madhya Pradesh.
