iilmNew Delhi: As per the latest updates, the Managing Director of Hitachi India, Bharat Kaushal, has been appointed Chancellor of IILM University. Chancellor Kaushal will bring IILM a wealth of experience and skills that will help the university reach new heights.

Chancellor Kaushal gives a worldwide perspective to his position as chancellor thanks to his MBA from Northeastern University and his Master's in International Affairs from Columbia University.

Chancellor Kaushal is the Managing Director of Hitachi India, where he is in charge of a group of 28 companies that employs approximately 33,000 people. He also oversees about 30 industrial facilities and state-of-the-art research and development facilities.

He held a prestigious position before joining Hitachi India, serving as the country's first non-Japanese CEO of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). He worked with SMBC for more than 20 years, holding a number of high managerial positions while showcasing his prowess in mergers and acquisitions, project finance, government advising, and macroeconomic policy.

The contributions of Chancellor Kaushal go beyond the business sphere. As the convenor of the Financial Strategy Group, which addresses policy and operational-level issues between Japan and India, he is a member of the Indo-Japan Task Force (IJTF).

Additionally, he provided his knowledge to the Economic Policy Unit of the World Bank in Washington, DC, and worked as a strategy advisor for the India Investment Centre. Under his leadership and mentoring, IILM has achieved new milestones and aspires to become a hub for scholarly excellence, originality, and industry relevance. The university provides a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes in engineering, management, law, and liberal arts.
