IIIT Bangalore took Digital Twin initiatives attracting leaders from different sectors. The event also has a Sangam Dialogue Plenary Session, where the role of technology in Vision 2047- The Viksit Bharat was realised.
New Delhi: Digital Twin initiative was taken at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Bangalore), attracting leaders, visionaries, and innovators from diverse sectors such as industry, academia, startups, and MSMEs.
The event also has 'Sangam Dialogue' plenary session, featuring discussions among key personalities, including Niti Aayog, CEO, the secretary of the telecommunication department, and the director of IIIT Bangalore. They deliberated on the role of technology in realising Vision 2047 – the Viksit Bharat.
IIIT Bangalore director Debabrata Das stated, “We are happy to host the prestigious Sangam: Digital Twin event at IIIT-Bangalore. The subject resonates deeply with our ongoing research in 6G and advanced telecommunications, IOT, Digital twin, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and various other cutting-edge areas.”

The Sangam Digital Twin initiative aspires to propel India into a new era of digital empowerment and technological progress. It relies on unified data and collective intelligence to anticipate the real-world impacts of innovative infrastructure planning solutions.
During the event, NITI Aayog CEO Shri BVR Subrahmanyam highlighted the transformative potential of digital twin technology, emphasising the necessity for cross-sector collaboration to drive innovation and efficiency. He expressed optimism about India's leading role in technological advancements and discussed the pivotal role of AI in shaping the future landscape.
Telecom Department Secretary Neeraj Mittal stressed the importance of planning and positioned Sangam as a top-priority government initiative. He noted its origins in the Prime Minister's call for futuristic infrastructure, aiming to dismantle planning silos across ministries.
Acknowledging the transformative power of data, computing advancements, and IoT capabilities, Mittal emphasised the aspirational nature of Sangam and its potential to propel India towards becoming the most developed country by 2047.
