NTA has prescribed a unique formula to calculate the CMAT percentile.

The formula is mentioned below.

For instance, suppose 20000 candidates appeared in the CMAT exam. Candidate X has ranked 1 in the exam, then his percentile will be 19999/20000*100= 99.995.

• At 95 percentile, students are eligible for top Tier 1 and Tier 2 B-Schools like KJSIM Mumbai, GIM Goa, and GLIM Gurgaon that have good placements and Infrastructure.
• Students scoring percentile around 95, can target top colleges with good ROI, like GIM Goa, GLIM Gurgaon, BIMTECH, and NIBM Pune. These colleges can be targeted within a percentile range of 90 to 95.
• Colleges like IMT Nagpur, PUMBA Pune, and XISS Ranchi, students having percentile below 95 percentile can target.

The CMAT score is the total of marks obtained by a candidate in all the test sections.

It is calculated by using a predefined marking scheme, as mentioned in the CMAT Information Bulletin available on the official website.

Raw Score Calculation

Each candidate’s raw score is first calculated as

• +4 marks for every correct answer
• –1 mark for every incorrect answer
• No marks for unattempted questions
• Maximum score: 400

• 90 is considered a decent and competitive score.
• You can get admission into Tier 2 to Tier 1.5 colleges at these marks.
