The University of Delhi has announced that candidates who have registered themselves on DU’s portal for PhD admission in the stream of political science and have completed the research coursework must submit the same along with the required documents on or before December 23, 2024.

Candidates interested in taking admission to Delhi University’s PhD program must submit the required documents as per the table mentioned below:

DU PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have registered themselves for the PhD program and are eligible as per the below-listed criteria can submit the documents and research proposal:
- Candidates who passed the UGC-NET test in December 2023 and June 2024 and were deemed qualified for admission to the PhD program.
- Candidates who passed national-level exams (JRF, NFOBC, NFSC, NFST, NFPwD, etc.) were eligible for fellowships and scholarships.
- MPhil degree candidates.
- Teachers and non-teaching employees who work for the University of Delhi on a permanent basis.
- Candidates for research jobs (JRF equivalent) in projects chosen by properly organized committees in accordance with university research project guidelines.
DU PhD Admission Documents Required
Candidates will be required to submit the below-listed documents for PhD admission
- The application was filled out when registering online.
- Admit Card (if applicable)
- Copy of the Research Proposal
- One Passport Size Photo.
- Class X Certificate/Mark-sheet (for Date of Birth)
- Graduation Degree and Mark-sheet
- Mark-sheet of Qualifying Degree
- Degree/Provisional Certificate of Qualifying Degree
- For candidates who have earned their qualifying degree from a university other than the University of Delhi, a migration certificate is necessary.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)*/SC/ST/PwD/EWS* Certificate (in the candidate's name).
- JRF Award letter
- UGC-NET Certificate
- ID Proof (Voter /Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Passport/Driving License)
DU PhD Admission Interview Commencement Date
The interview for the Delhi University PhD program will begin tentatively as per the below-mentioned table:

A total of 40 seats are available for Political Science PhD program. Candidates who apply through DU's portal but have not completed their research coursework are advised to do so by December 23, 2024, since they may not be allowed to proceed with the admissions process if they do not.
