Dr. Thangjam Ravichandra is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the MBA programme at the Allied School of Business. He holds a PhD in Business Management and an MBA in Finance, along with professional certifications as a consultant from the US. He earned alumni status from IIM-K through an Applied Finance Program for Executives and completed the Diploma Program in Strategic Management from IBMI, Germany. He has also qualified as a Global Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the Swiss School of Business Management, Geneva - Switzerland.
Dr. Ravichandra is an incisive academician and a seasoned administrator with over a decade of work experience. He has worked extensively to set up an impressive environment to bridge gaps between the corporate world and academia through industry-ready programs and inter-disciplinary courses across academic streams. He was awarded Director of the Year for the recognition of the initiative by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. He has conducted several research projects in contemporary and emerging areas of Finance and Investment and holds five patents and one Canadian copyright.
You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
As an educator, I continuously engage in learning to stay updated with the latest research in my field and educational technology trends. This ongoing learning keeps me passionate and excited about my work. My dedication to education stems from my desire to impact students' lives positively, helping them reach their full potential and become engaged, contributing citizens.

Being the Director of Alliance University what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
A leadership philosophy serves as a guiding framework for leaders, encompassing their beliefs, values, and principles in leading others. It functions as a personalized action plan, aiding managers in decision-making, problem-solving, and team motivation. I take inspiration from various management philosophies like visionary leadership, service management, transformational leadership, and authentic leadership. I try to provide direction and motivate my teams to achieve the common university goal. Being authentic and genuine is also important for me.
Being the Director of Alliance University how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your institute?
Crafting effective university strategies involves a blend of foresight, data-driven choices, collaboration, and adaptability. A concise approach we adopt is defining the vision and mission. Before formulating a plan, we do an analysis and find out if our goal is feasible. We try to ensure our goals have a strategic plan that covers all stakeholders and aspects of academia. We also have an intensive marketing plan that targets social media, digital marketing, and traditional marketing channels. We have optimised the admissions process to make it smoother and to provide easy access to financial aid to all students. In our plan, we allocate space for continuous evaluation and feedback.We make use of data analytics and KPIs for tracking and adjustments and we encourage a culture of innovation and feedback.

I can also help students find resources such as libraries, tutoring centres, and student organizations. I can help students communicate with each other, their professors, and other members of the institute community. I can do this by providing a forum for students to ask questions, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. I can help students discover their creativity and think outside the box. I can do this by providing students with new ideas and perspectives and helping them develop their problem-solving skills.
I can help students achieve their academic goals by providing them with personalised learning experiences and helping them develop effective study habits. I can support student wellness by providing students with mental health, stress management, and time management resources. I can also help students connect with other students and find activities they enjoy. I believe these roles and responsibilities are important because they can help students succeed in their academic and personal lives.
