What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

My role is to build the foundation and provide more advanced knowledge in the concerned subject. I assess student understanding and also monitor the academic progress of the students through various means, including Class Tests and Pre-University Examinations. I also serve as a mentor of a particular class as college students often need guidance and mentorship as they navigate their academic and career paths. I also encourage student participation in various college cultural programs and competitions and also in academics events like conferences, seminars, and workshops.

How do you establish healthy relations with students and fellow faculty?

For creating a positive and productive academic environment, it is necessary to have healthy relationship with students and colleagues and this can be done by developing mutual trust so that they can rely on me. I actively participate in all the college programs and events as these platforms provide a platform to connect with students and my colleagues on an individual level and provide guidance and support when needed.

How do you introduce a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

Emphasis is given on laboratory work so as to provide students with practical experience in applying theoretical concepts as laboratory learning provides opportunities for students to relate and reinforce the theoretical concepts taught in class. We also organize Industrial visits so as to provide students an insight into the real working environment and interact with highly trained and experienced personnel which give better understanding of theoretical topics in the syllabus. In this session various industrial visits were organized like Jaipur Dairy, CIPETetc.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

We break the syllabus into smaller topics for easy understanding. We identify key concepts and skills that students will need at each level. We also provide notes in easy language rather than book language. Important questions are also provided to students from each unit. As our college is affiliated to University of Rajasthan so updating of the syllabus is done by the university itself. This year they have implemented New Education Policy and changed undergraduate program into semester scheme.

What are your views on the placements and higher education of the students from your department?

The department arranges campus placement for the students to provide job opportunities in various companies. Many students were placed in various companies like Genpact, BATA, Cyfuture etc. conducted in Job Fair in campus. Higher education institutions now have a set pattern for admission requirements, including academic performance, standardized test scores (such as the NET, GATE etc. We guide the students and help them to prepare for such exams. Selection in such exams helps them to get scholarships, grants and financial aid in pursuing higher education.

Which strategy do you use to help students to cope with this competitive world?

The most important thing we do is to guide students to develop effective stress management techniques such as meditation, exercise, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to cope with the pressures of this competitive world. Some strategies that we as teacher use to help our students to grow in this competitive environment are – we encourage students to ask for help and seek assistance when they are having difficulty learning, we teach them to deal with losing or defeat, even when they lose, we make them understand the learning a lesson from the loss is the best return gift and we always praise our students when they make an effort.

What extracurricular activities are organized in college to enhance the skills of the students?

Our college organizes a variety of extracurricular activities for overall development of students beyond academics. Some extracurricular activities organized in our college are Workshops, Seminars, Guest Lectures on various topics of interest, Young Springs, Inter-College Debate Competition, AD-MAD Show and Business Quiz, Hindi Diwas, Annual Sports Day, Deepotsav, Annual Day, Social Awareness Activities, Blood Donation, Swachhata Abhiyaan, Republic Day, Independence Day etc. Our college also organize career fairs, job placement events, and internship programs to connect students with potential employers.

Which challenges are you facing to uplift the quality of education of your Department?

First challenge is limited access to research facilities like modern laboratory equipment, chemicals, and teaching materials which can hinder the opportunities to engage students in research activities which are necessary for conducting effective experiments and practical demonstrations in chemistry. Teachers can improve the quality of education by improving themselves as teachers. Second challenge is proper training of teachers which is important to make them responsible for their work as more trained teachers in the education system can make a huge difference. Third challenge is to design and redesign the curriculum according to the current situation to fulfill the future needs.

What are the approaches you bring in apart from curriculum to teach students?

We encourage students for collaborative learning experiences by giving group projects and encouraging group discussions as group discussions enhances communication skills of students. We also use online platforms like virtual laboratories, educational apps, and multimedia content to make the learning more interactive. We also use variety of methods for assessment of students which helps them to improve.

Would you like to give any valuable advice to the students?

We are currently in a very challenging and hostile environment so be honest with yourself and take time to know your strengths and weaknesses. Set your goals, be goal-oriented, practice self-discipline and focus on commitment. Be clear about what you want and put effort on it so that you will able to achieve what you want. Once you have clarity about what you want, lean onto it and start living your purpose everyday and start acting on your purpose so that you can see how life is when you know your purpose.
