How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry oriented?

We encourage classroom projects based on current trends and introduce them to all the latest innovations. More than theory, we promote interactive learning.
Industry visits and fashion shows are integral parts of learning.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students which help them gain necessary skills?

Individual attention and acknowledgment go a long way. We encourage our students to engage in fashion weeks and internships. Guest lectures from industry people and fashion designers and stylists are organized regularly.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

By focusing on quality and moral values. We encourage students to develop an all-round personality by making them work based on strict deadlines. We also create a professional environment in class by keeping our projects industry-based; class presentations are also a must.

What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

I wouldn't say there are no challenges, but no matter how much we try to incorporate the latest technology without changing the course curriculum, we are not ready for the AI era. So, I would say AI is going to bring in more challenges than benefits, and we are not ready to solve those challenges.

What do you see as the department’s/ college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

I would say that we foster a strong teacher-student relationship, the dedication of staff, and the motivation to always think outside the box. We encourage creativity among students and teachers, bringing in new ideas and viewpoints.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

I will advise students to be honest and dedicated towards their institution and themselves because these qualities will take them forward on their path to success. And also, I would like to add that irrespective of the circumstance, never give up. Even if the situation is not in your favor, just be focused on working harder until you achieve your goals.

How does the department/College enhance the skills of the faculty and prepare them according to the industry standards?

We organize workshops based on the AICTE program. We also provide Practical exposure and online seminars to enhance their knowledge and prepare them according to industry standards.

How do you ensure that the courses offered at the college are up-to-date and aligned with industry trends and demands? Are there any mechanisms in place for regular curriculum review and updates?

Our Board of Technical Education is very particular in taking input from all the colleges regarding the new changes and updates in the industry trends and demands, and after analyzing those changes, they are very prompt in bringing those changes.
