Dr. Sanjana Kalra is the Director of International Polytechnic. She holds a PhD in Education and Management along with a postgraduate degree in Chemistry and a bachelor’s degree in Education. With 29 years of work experience, she has worked in academia, and also as a Personality Grooming Coach.

Dr. Kalra is the recipient of the Naari Shakti Samman in 2017 by the Honorable Governor of Haryana for her contribution to fashion and beauty.

As the college Director, what is your vision and long-term goals for the college? How do you plan to lead the college towards achieving those goals?

International Polytechnic is driven to provide excellent educational opportunities that are responsive to the needs of our students. We want to empower them to meet and exceed challenges and be active participants in shaping the future of our country, or the world, at large. International Polytechnic aims to foster academic and career success through the development of creativity and effective communication, in a safe and affordable learning environment. We endeavour to provide our students with the knowledge, skills and confidence that are relevant to contemporary creative practice.


Could you provide an overview of the college's strategic initiatives or key projects that are currently in progress or planned for the future?

International Polytechnic is a part of the illustrious Sri Sukhmani Group of Institutes. The prestigious institutions are reputed to provide international exposure and professional stability. The group is now in its 52nd year of existence and is soon coming up with the Sri Sukhmani University, which will provide all-round education to students in various fields.


How do you ensure effective communication and collaboration among various departments and stakeholders within the college?

The students and faculty of all departments are often brought together under one roof at seminars, workshops, or cultural events, where they get to mingle and learn from one another. We hold frequent competitions, excursions, and trips that allow intra-departmental exchanges. Additionally, we encourage out-of-class learning for all.

What measures or strategies are in place to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff?

At International Polytechnic, we endeavor to meet the needs of our demographically diverse student and staff population. We embrace equality and accountability through data-driven decisions and student achievements. We have scholarships and financial for all deserving students. Everyone can approach us for advice and support regarding any personal and professional issues.


How do you prioritize and allocate resources within the college to support academic programs, research, and infrastructure development?

Our resource allocation is done in consultation with all professors and heads of departments. After discussion and looking at the previous year’s data, we collaboratively came up with a plan. Our main areas of allocating resources are our research programs, staff training programs, and infrastructure. These are given top priority, and the institute resources are utilized to provide the best of these, to the students and staff.


What steps have been taken to enhance the college's reputation and standing in the academic community? How do you plan to further strengthen the college's position in the future?

We prioritize values such as student success, excellence, collaboration, diversity, integrity, and technological advancements. Promoting and uplifting these values ensures that International Polytechnic remains one of the best vocational institutes in the country.


What role does innovation and technology play in the college's educational offerings and administrative processes? Can you provide examples of recent technological advancements implemented at the college?

In today’s day and age, the implementation of the latest technological advancements is an integral part of education. It is an ongoing process for us that we highly prioritize. We integrate these into our college in several ways. For example, the latest software is made available and taught to the students, so that when they go out into the industry, they are abreast with the latest technological advancements.


How does the college engage with industry partners and employers to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and aligned with the needs of the job market?

At International Polytechnic, we nurture professional tie-ups with relevant industry majors, who provide training, internships, and placement to our students. Internships usually last for a period of one to three months, which is mandatory for all courses, that give students an insight into the practical know-how of relative industries. We have an Advisory Council, of which eminent personalities from relevant industries are a part and an International Polytechnic Advisory Council (IPAC) members who share valuable industry insights with the students.


What strategies or initiatives are in place to promote faculty development and research activities within the college?

All of our faculty are encouraged to update their knowledge and skills. They are made to attend various training programs that ensure they remain abreast with the advancements in their respective fields.

How does the college prioritize student support services, such as career counselling, mental health resources, and extracurricular activities?

Our in-house counsellors are available at all campuses. Students are encouraged to actively participate in extracurricular activities such as annual day functions, fashion shows/presentations, workshops, seminars, competitions, exhibitions, debates, presentations, sports, and games. These events are held throughout the year, to boost the confidence of the students, help in their overall development, and give their work due industry exposure.
