What is the latest program that you are offering to students in your institute/dept. which will help them outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

Our latest program is LEAP, the Lead Entrepreneurship Academic Program. We are thrilled to introduce our flagship programme, LEAP, which represents a transformative opportunity for our students. The programme is specifically designed to empower them with a comprehensive skill set, positioning them as standout performers in their academic and professional journeys.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

Our programme helps students discover their inner talents, skills and abilities. We have designed this course to enhance their personal attributes too. What makes LEAP the programme of choice for our students is its holistic approach. Not only does it provide a strong academic foundation, but it also places a strong emphasis on self-discovery. Students uncover their latent talents, develop essential skill sets, and refine their personal attributes, thereby enhancing their overall growth and potential.

What will you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

Students tend to practise their communication and competence, which play a vital role in achieving business skills. In LEAP, we prioritise best practises in communication and competence. These skills are vital components for success in the ever-competitive business landscape. Our program fosters an environment where students can continually refine these skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for the real world.

What are some valuable insights of the program that you are offering at your institute/dept.?

Through our programme, students will learn professionalism and corporate etiquette, which play a crucial role in their day-to-day lives. LEAP offers invaluable insights by focusing on professionalism and corporate etiquette. These soft skills play a pivotal role in shaping our students' lives and careers, equipping them with the essential tools for success in any industry. These skills are transferable to any industry or job role the students switch to later in their careers.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Students are given several writing and speaking opportunities during the course to exhibit their acquired and hidden skill sets. They are also tested on their learning. Our programme's unique approach to student preparation involves a combination of hands-on experiences and assessments. Continuous evaluation is also in place to ensure students are on the path to becoming well-rounded individuals.

How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

To deliver LEAP effectively, we've assembled a dedicated team of senior trainers who are passionate about soft skills and entrepreneurship. A team of senior and passionate trainers was selected and trained on soft skills and entrepreneurship skills on our campus as part of our in-house training. They undergo rigorous in-house training on our campus, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to mentor our students effectively.

How do you tend to build an industry connect with this program?

We have a corporate training and placement cell that coordinates with companies and industries to provide internships or training sessions for students. Building strong industry connections is a key pillar of our programme. Our corporate training and placement cell collaborates with various companies and industries to provide internships and training opportunities, ensuring that our students gain real-world experience.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

Parents are to be educated on the benefits of this entrepreneurship course. They generally resist it as it is a pro-business course and they want their children to go to college and pursue traditional careers. This entrepreneurship program provides the education that makes them business leaders in any role and industry. Implementing this program did pose a challenge in educating parents about the benefits of entrepreneurship education. We understand that there may be initial resistance, as some parents prefer a traditional college education. However, we firmly believe that entrepreneurship programs like LEAP are pivotal in nurturing the business leaders of tomorrow.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

Students are given projects for which they need to conduct an event on campus. In this process, they are forced to display their individual abilities and polish team-building skills. They are given mini-projects where they make PowerPoint presentations on a particular topic. Through LEAP, our students engage in a wide array of projects. They take charge of organising campus events, where they get to display their unique talents and hone their team-building skills. Mini-projects, such as creating PowerPoint presentations, also provide them with practical skills, including proficiency in MS Office.

What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

Students learn while they earn. They attend theory classes, practise business skills in the evening or in their free time and use the knowledge they learn in the classes. In advanced courses like BBA, MBA and PGDM, LEAP students tend to progress faster and stand apart from others. The benefits of pursuing LEAP are multifaceted. Students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also acquire essential practical business skills. This distinctive blend of learning and hands-on experience sets them on a trajectory towards personal and professional success. LEAP graduates can excel in advanced courses like BBA, MBA, and PGDM, which propels them ahead of their peers and unlocks a plethora of exciting career opportunities.
