Dr. J. Blessa Navin is the Principal of Tapasya College Of Commerce And Management. She holds an M.Com., MBA, PGDCA, and PhD degrees. With more than 20 years of experience, she has worked in both industry and academia. Dr. Navin started her career as a Commerce Lecturer in 1998 and has worked in numerous colleges in Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Besides her present role, she is also an IQAC and NACC Co-ordinator. She has also written numerous papers in international and national journals.

The Career Accelerator Program includes a series of add-on courses that complement the regular Osmania University curriculum. These courses are carefully selected based on industry demands and emerging trends to ensure that students are equipped with the most relevant and up-to-date skills.

What will you say the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

The "best practice" in the course we're offering is the individual calibration of students through our mentoring system. Each faculty member is assigned a small group of 30 to 40 students, allowing for personalised attention and follow-up. This approach helps us address their individual academic and personal issues effectively, ensuring that students receive the necessary support and guidance to excel in their studies and personal growth.

Some valuable insights from our program are that we have numerous add-on courses like digital marketing, POWER Bi, and TALLY which are perfect for updating market skills. To deliver this program effectively, we have well-experienced faculty who excel in mentoring students. Additionally, we collaborate with organisations like NSIC, MSME, and private firms to bring in technical experts for add-on courses. Continuous professional development and faculty development programs further enhance our teaching methodologies and ensure students receive a quality education, preparing them for their future careers.


What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

The main challenge faced while inculcating this program in our curriculum was synchronising the varied interests and demands of the students. Each student has unique preferences and career aspirations, making it challenging to strike a balance and cater to everyone's needs effectively. However, through careful planning and flexible course offerings, we aim to accommodate as many interests as possible and provide a comprehensive program that benefits all students.
